First time eating here and will not be back. $56 for two adults, absolutely not worth it. 90% of the meat options were pork, I was hoping there would be more beef/chicken options. When I did find chicken, the chicken was completely dry and lacked seasoning. Super disappointing. Our waiter was friendly but had no knowledge of the drink menu when we asked what was in some of the alcoholic drinks. Menu says they have agua frescas so we asked if there was horchata and the waiter said he didn't know, so he went and checked, came back and said no. Maybe like 20 minutes later a table sits down next to us and I hear the waiter go over the agua frescas with them and tells them they have horchata. The place itself is decent, they have a huge outside area where a wedding was actually taking place. But, there are only TWO bathrooms for the entire establishment and one bathroom was down. There's also a sign telling people not to flush toilet paper, so when you walk into the bathroom, it was just super gross. $56 down the drain for a disappointing lunch.

Let me start off by saying, this is AUTHENTIC MEXICAN food. Not Tex next bull crap. Legit REAL mexican people making REAL mexican food. Everything I tried, I loved. When I tell you, a hundred meal options... I mean a literal hundred. You will never run out of options here. The service was phenomenal! (Cute uniforms as well) Very attentive and helpful. The decor is also traditional and added to the overall ambience of the meal. Definitely my favorite food in all of Dallas / Fort Worth. Also, get the olla coffee. Trust me. You won't be disappointed if you love coffee.

There's a practically endless selection of Mexican classics and unique spins on your favorites here, where you have the chance to taste and fall in love with tons of different foods. I was blown away by the amount of choices and accoutrements available for them. The food was fresh, hot, and it's a buffet, so no waiting involved! The servers could have been a bit more spiffy with clearing the many plates we quickly had on our table, but they were helpful with explaining any questions we had about the food and sides. Additionally, the availability of Mexican drink classics was an unexpected surprise. We adored the Horchata and the chance to try the other tasty flavors. The restaurant itself is a bit dated, and the floors a bit uneven, but it sorta adds to that authentic charm, you know? The focus is on the food, as it should be, and for the price you pay for it all, I don't know how you could ask for more.

Prices as of March 1, 2025. Took one for the team.

After seeing this place show up on TikTok and Facebook I decided it was time to see what all the hype was about. The building itself is pretty big. Enjoyed the courtyard before wandering in to pay. Property looks well maintained and it looked clean on the inside. Staff were helpful and friendly. The buffet area can be overwhelming at first until you make a few rounds and realize that it's not that massive as it looks. What I did like were the handmade corn and flour tortillas, Cafe de Olla was well made and the various other sodas and aguas (pineapple, melon, horchata, jamaica and tamarindo) you could get which were included in the price. What was a huge red flag for me was the price menu (there are no prices displayed). You don't know how much it is until you pay. Another huge downer for me and I did bring it up to the waiter we got was the fact that they charge for every breathing person who walks through the door. My son is 1 and was asleep and they still charged for him. I noticed it after I left but I don't care for those kinds of deceitful business practices. The Adult buffet is $25.85, Kids 6-10 $13.99, Kids 3-5 $7.99, and 1-2 Kids $3.99. Finally the secret is out on how much it costs. What you will find is that this is a glorified taco bar buffet. You have some options like a sopé with cheese and beans or a skinny greasy tamale and even chicken nuggets and fries but the majority of this buffet is built around pork, chicken and beef. All of them in a different sauce or grilled with a little something different. So, expect to basically eat tortillas with some type of meat. Rice and beans sucked. The dessert bar was sucky too. Would I try again? Probably not. Mostly hype but that is just my personal opinion. Paid almost $100 for 2 adults a 10 year old and a 3 and 1 year old. Price is way out of range for this buffet.

The place is gorgeous I really enjoyed their bar the drinks were delicious and the ambiance of the place was great.

What is not to love? As we're celebrating our 55th anniversary this month we were presented with a lovely, complementary sparkly rose. As today is Cinco de Mayo a Margarita was in order and the house pour was lovely. We shared a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the Ceviche Tatemado followed by the Tacos de Barbacoa which is the Tuesday lunch special. Both the ceviche and barbacoa tacos were just so enjoyable. The striped bass and octopus ceviche here is a unique preparation that sings in the tangy lime and Serrano vinaigrette in which it is prepared. The barbacoa is so flavorful and tender; and the thin, house made flour tortilla is fried crispy on the flat top before being filled. So good.

The outdoor seating is so charming lush plants, colorful flowers, and a peaceful fountain that makes you want to stay awhile. I had the chicken fajita bowl, and it was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The margaritas were definitely tempting but I behaved and stuck with water... next time for sure. Only minor thing, there was water on the floor going into and inside the bathroom, which could be a slipping hazard. A "wet floor" sign would definitely help. Beautiful atmosphere, relaxed vibe. Such a great little getaway in the middle of the day.

But we always hear people talk about how great Joe T's is so we thought maybe we just an isolated bad experience 15 years ago. But this time, it was even worse. Maybe people don't speak unfavorably out of fear of being shamed for not praising this "institution"? We arrived on a Wednesday at 5:30 so fortunately our unpleasant experience was not further worsened with a wait. The patio is still very beautiful and umbrellas were positioned to provide ample shade. But the fly situation was very annoying and could probably be helped with the spinning devices on tables or fans spread throughout the patios. The beauty of the patio doesn't compensate enough to endure the flies. The service started out good with waters, chips/salsa brought instantly. But within 15 minutes the service rapidly declined as more customers were seated. It was very tedious to the point of annoying to get refills on our drinks. Literally within 2-3 minutes of ordering we asked our waitress to switch one of the fajita orders from chicken to beef. She initially said "oh I'm sorry but I JUST put the order in". We looked puzzled and said "ok then it shouldn't be a problem changing it?" She went on to explain that she would add the beef to our table and just switch the chicken order to another table next to us who ordered chicken that she had not put in yet. All of that sounded very bizarre but the food was correct when it was delivered our table. At the time the plates were brought we requested a side of sour cream but it didn't come. After 5-10 minutes we spotted our server and requested it from her. But we still never got the sour cream. As I was paying the tab my daughter noticed that we were charged for an extra chicken fajita. So even though the server got the beef fajita added right after we ordered, she didn't take the chicken off the bill. She adjusted it once we pointed out the error. The food was the biggest disappointment out of all of it. I will always give grace to sub par service or atmosphere if the food is great. I say this with the utmost sincerity, I've had more flavorful beef and chicken at Chipotle. The chicken was so dry and served in big chunks which made it even tougher to chew. I seriously could not detect a hint of any seasoning, not even salt. It was very hot but not like the traditional sizzling fajita hot, more like it had been sitting in a heating pan or under heat lamps. For way too long. The beef was a tad bit easier to chew than the chicken but just as bland. The queso that we ordered tasted like canned cheese sauce watered down with chicken or vegetable broth and a tablespoon of pico added. The portion sizes of the entrees, the tortillas, the pico, the guacamole were all very generous. It's just a shame that it doesn't taste good.

They're your typical trendy taco place, with their own selection of merchandise and crazy/cheesy jokes strewn about on t-shirts and signage. They have an ample bar space, but it looked like only one patron was interested in that; the rest of us were there to eat. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer to come back and pick it up. The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
