All I can say is the delivery driver was nice. My entire $30 order was inedible. It tasted like nothing but really old grease. The rice, noodles, orange beef and wings were all just.... awful. There were 9 mini shrimp in the combo fried rice, less than 1/2 measured cup of chicken per container and Ann's excuse was that since packaging prices have increased she can't fit as much meat into the containers-even though she acknowledged there was hardly any meat in the food, but refuses to cut back on the rice portion. So unless you are a huge fan of paying a ridiculous amount for rice, stay away. 18 years of going to Pearl and this is how they treat their loyal customers. So I placed an order on Friday 8/4 at 8:08 PM, my total was $17.80 which was taken from my card. A hour passes by in I call to check the status of my order and was told that it was on the way. At 10:08 PM I call a second time only to be told that I hadn't placed an order, I asked the lady for her number so I could screenshot her the debit that was taken from my account. I sent it to her and she told me that she would have to look into it, of course I told her either refund me or have my food delivered. She tells me to fuck off in hangs up on me, only to call me back a few minutes later apologizing that I had placed an order after all and that my receipt was under a stack of menus. With that said, we've never done delivery, so, I can't give my opinion on that (most of the complaints) Anyways, today, we had the Kung Pao Chicken & the happy family, with a side of lo mein for 24.00. While that sounds like a lot, the portions were HUGE. I'd say, at least three meals worth. Food was extremely hot & fresh, that I had to let it cool off. These were so small that I just didn't feel like I got my money's worth. They charged .75 for sweet and sour sauce... which was unusually thick :/ Entree: I had the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was soggy and the rice was clumpy. Plus, you had to pay for the sweet and sour sauce. Service: I have to say the service was excellent. Pearl serves the best Chinese takeout in the area. Is it the best Chinese food ever? No, but it's actually pretty good compared to the nasty stuff the other Chinese spots around here serve! The cashew chicken is my favorite, along with the lo mein. I'm not a fan of dining at the restaurant, because for some reason the takeout always tastes better to me (that could be just cause I'm eating on my sofa watching tv haha but takeout is my personal favorite way to enjoy Pearl). If you pick up your food you'll have to wait about 20 mins, if you have it delivered it can take a lot longer. SO all the reviews seems to be old and bad but I decided to take a chance and ordered. I'm glad I did! They arrived super quickly. 35 minutes total... granted we are literally on the same road as them. I tasted each item and man it was all yummy and hot! So most of their food is decent from what I've tried, however at times it's hard to get enough flavor. The Egg Foo Young is always fresh and delicious. Soups are also pretty good. We order delivery from this place, frequently. The food is great! I love that I can order online, and add the tip. Ordering is super easy. Their site saves my card information, which is nice. Delivery is a little slow sometimes, but I think they're pretty busy. It took over an hour and a half once, and I was ticked. It usually takes about an hour, though. Nice delivery driver. I would recommend this place for delivery, as long as you are not starving. Update: They brought me fried rice, but I ordered steamed rice. It was good, but I was looking forward to sticky rice.
