    Shrimp Fried Rice
    Jennifer W.

Food is fresh but the wait is crazy! Very casual inside dining. This establishment also has a drive thru and a large parking lot with big pot holes so be careful there. I ordered the fish/shrimp combo, shrimp fried rice and happy family with an egg roll. I believe business has picked up here because of social media because it's never been so busy. I think it's worth the wait, definitely a good portion size and always fresh cooked to order.

Best Chinese food around! Always hot and fresh. My go to spot when I want a good lunch.

Tried towards the end of the lunch special, assuming that's why my fried rice was dry and old? Instagram brought me here, I'd rate it a 2star and nothing more. It's equivalent of mall food. I didn't like the eggroll filling. Left a weird aftertaste in my mouth after each bite.

Hot food that the owner threw on us causing burns and the police and paramedics were called.

This is the 22 year old "owner", she gaslit me about my order, caught an attitude, and threw food on me and my children causing BURNS. We had GREAT experiences until today. SHAME ON YOU!!

They could START, by seasoning the food ! The beef was chewy, they only put (3) shrimp in the order... the wontons were bone dry. The combination fried rice was gummy.

Food wasn't the best. The young lady who was at the drive thru was also not the friendliest. I haven't been inside to see how the ambiance is because i stopped going after that first interaction.

3 fish, 6 shrimp, fries & salad... Yummy!

Generous portions but a little too much sauce on the orange chicken. Place is mostly take out orders. Might try again.

Fast and delicious meals and best Chinese food in around town. It's my favorite go to place with affordable prices.

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

We ate egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and soup, followed up by orange beef and beef fried rice. The crab Rangoon could have used more stuffings, but what was there was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the orange beef. The tenderness of the beef and the taste of the sauce was on point. Definitely don't pass on this one if you are craving Chinese food. Note: they do serve peanuts before the meal, so watch for that with allergies!

The people are the exact same. It was truly a feeling of nostalgia that's hard to describe. My favorite dish has always been, and still is, the bamboo shoots with pork. It is so fragrant, umami, and simply delicious. The west lake soup is also a classic done so well - pro tip to add white pepper to give it a little kick. The steamed pork belly was okay - sauce is flavorful (a touch salty) along with the preserved greens but the pork wasn't as tender as I had remembered it. The fish filets are fried to perfection, full of salt/pepper flavor, and pairs well with the jalapeños. If you don't like fish, you can get the same flavor with the pork version of this dish, which I also really like. The service can be a little slow because it's just 1 chef and 1 waitress who own the restaurant - same people that have run the show since I first came here probably almost 30 years ago! Incredible to see them still working so hard and serving delicious food. They'll never know how much their restaurant and food means to me!

**This review is based on a Sunday evening to-go order.**…read more While these folks were polite on the phone and in-person -- and the restaurant was bright and clean when I came in to pick up my order -- I cannot recommend this place. First, I ordered the Chinese Fried Chicken (half), which is supposed to be brined in soy and hoisin, then deep fried in a light batter. This chicken was no more brined than a rock in the desert, and it was just as dry, even the dark meat pieces. The steamed rice was fine, as was the beautiful bok choy. The dish, overall was a huge disappointment. The chicken lo mein was also a letdown, as it had an underlying sweetness that I've never experienced with this dish. Two bites were taken and it (along with the chicken) ended up in the hotel trash can. A couple of positives: I enjoyed the hot & sour soup, and the egg rolls tasted as if they were rolled in-house, which is a rarity these days. I live a few hundred miles down the road and don't get to downtown Dallas very often, so the odds of me patronizing this place again is already slim. But, in the event I find myself here in the future, I will avoid this restaurant.
