Hot and Sour Soup. Lights. Out. The soup alone has me saying, "get in my belly!"…read more I'm a creature of habit, so I typically rotate between a few favorites. The Refreshing Roll is one of my go-tos, along with the nigiri, salmon, yellowtail, etc. And I have to mention the sushi cuts: perfect thickness. I don't know anyone who wants ta steak of sushi they have to chew. These pieces are just right. For the wok-fried dishes, I almost always go for the Mongolian Beef- EXTRA green onions, please! It arrives sizzling hot in what looks like a little fajita-style skillet, and it is hot, savory and delicious. You get your choice of steamed white or brown rice, too. The refreshing roll - Tuna, salmon, yellow tail, avocado topped with sliced lemon, serrano pepper , cilantro & spicy ponzu. ( I ask for it on the side, too sweet) I eat them without, maybe ginger, wasabi and soy sauce. And bonus points for the rewards program. The more you visit, the more you earn toward your bill - which, considering how often we come here, I'm obviously very supportive of this arrangement. Pair it with a sake or a Dr. Pepper, add the (FREE) hot & sour soup and I'm a happy woman! Fire Fish is officially one of my repeat restaurants.

The food was surprisingly good for an Asian restaurant in small town Jacksonville. I came to have…read moredinner here with a friend and truthfully held mediocre expectations, but the dish I ordered blew me away. I specifically ordered salmon with fried rice and miso soup from their entree list. Our server was friendly and quick to take our orders. Upon receiving our food, the miso soup was great, the salmon was well cooked, and the fried rice wasn't too soggy, sticky or heavy. The meat to rice portion was well balanced. While I wouldn't compare it to what I call "the best", or even "authentic" high quality Asian food, the food was delicious enough as its own thing and I find myself satiated. The restaurant is decent sized with comfortable seating; overall I enjoyed the pleasant surprise here. If I visit Jacksonville again I'll be back.

We chose Asian Garden because we had eaten there a couple times before. The lunch specials were tasty and at a good price. I had shrimp and broccoli and my wife had the Moo Goo Gai Pan. We both enjoyed our food. Service, however, as not as good as we expected. The man who served us was most likely the owner too. He was not friendly and did the minimum to meet our needs. He never came by to check to see if everything was okay. He sat my water glass down by just saying, "Here" and when it was time to pay our bill, he laid it on the table and disappeared. I was paying with cash so I had correct change. He became busy on his computer it seemed and did not tell us thank you. We were the only customers for lunch so perhaps he thought we didn't need more, but he will not get return visits if he is not more attentive to his customers.

Light early dinner w mi madre. Sharing appetizers…read more The hot and sour soup is phenomenal. Rich, full of complex but not overwhelmingly flavors, and just a little kick. Eggrolls are delicious, but huge. You know, for eggrolls. I've had burritos that weren't much bigger. The fried wantons were absolute perfection. Fried just long enough for a weee bit of crust crunch and texture, but still soft. The calamari was great. Mi madre is over the moon for it. I thought it was a little heavy and really needed something to dip it in, but that's not something to gig em for. I could asked for sweet and sour sauce. Or more soy, whatever. The shrimp toast though... Let me tell you something, about this shrimp toaste. It's super important. You need this in your life. Post haste. Like, right fucking now. Next time I go there, I may very well just order dumplings and shrimp toast. It has got a really subtle but steady sweetness that lingers nicely. The shrimp toast here is one of the best things you'll eat in this whole ass county. Promise. It's a beautiful day, East Texas. I hope you're enjoying it. #iloveyouetx #sabaileyproject #writerfoodiegunguy #foodiesofetx #ztfu #foodiesofig #hippiebarbarian

Tiba Grill is a halal Lebanese and Greek restaurant, and they even have a grocery store inside, making it a nice spot to grab some Middle Eastern products while you're there. We ordered the Mix Shawarma Plate and the Mix Kabob Plate, and both were delicious. The plates were loaded with grilled meats, seasoned rice, pita bread, fries, hummus, salad, and creamy garlic sauce. The meats were flavorful and nicely grilled, and the portions were very generous. We also tried the Kiwi & Lime and Lemon & Mint drinks, which were refreshing alongside the meal. The restaurant itself has a spacious and unique interior, especially the beautiful colorful hanging lights that give the dining area a warm Middle Eastern feel. Definitely a great halal food stop in Tyler, especially if you're craving a filling Lebanese or Mediterranean-style meal. We left full and happy!
