The service was outstanding!!! The ambiance was kinda quiet. The parking lot was packed but they had a lot of tables open. It's spacious inside, so you're not cramped with other people. The food was amazing. The sweet chili pork tacos was the best thing we had, besides the cold beer. Lol... we will definitely be back

I've been here twice now and the first time was so, so good with quick service but the second time around was slightly different of an experience. The service was on the slower side, but there were only 3 servers working. I ordered the Firecracker Shrimp for an appetizer and the Pad Thai with steak for my entrée. The Firecracker Shrimp was quite underwhelming, I thought it was going to be tossed in the sauce and the batter didn't want to stay on the shrimp 6/10. The Pad Thai barely had any steak and the steak it had was basically crumb sized, not only that but it had a strong citrus taste and was dry 6/10. I wouldn't order either dishes again, but last time I came I ordered the Firecracker Chicken bowl and that was so good! So I'd say it just depends on what you order if it's going to be good or not.

I love this place. I have a wide range of foods I like and this curry is on the money. If you like spicy it can't quite reach the level you would want but the flavor is on point. I'm telling you come here and get the curry, queso, or poke bowl. All absolute money!

Regular for good and inexpensive food. Fun little bar lounge area. Love the casual lighting and different seating options.

The flattest beer I've ever had in my life. The was a criminal beer to serve someone.

Pretty mixed bag but I don't live in Nacogdoches so only passing through. THE DINING ROOM: When you enter it has a weird gutted aesthetic of concrete floors and a big bar to the right. The second thing I noticed was all the red chairs were disgustingly stained. Weird gross patterns. Apparently it was formerly a Chinese place so I guess they kept the dirty chairs. 1/5 THE BEER: The have a giant beer list which I presume is keeping with the Barkeeps name. We ordered 3 different drafts and they all came out flat. Not a good sign when you purport to be a beer joint. Must have kegs sitting around for a long time or they have no idea how to do a proper tap. The flattest beer I've ever had in my life. 1/5 THE FOOD: Getting to the menu it was not at all what I expected based on the name. Pho, Bahn Mi, Naan tacos, Asian bowls, Salads, Curries, they all looked amazing on the menu. Pictures on yelp also looked great. We ordered Samosas, Boudin Eggrolls, and Potstickers for appetizers and they were all delicious. Had never had Boudin Eggrolls before and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki bowl with cucumber, avocado, lettuce, and white rice was FANTASTIC. The sauce was delicious and all of it was delicious and fresh. Would love to order this again. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. No complaints there. 5/5 THE SERVICE: A little slow but we were a big group. 4/5 OVERALL: For the food alone I would go back again the kitchen was crushing it. I would avoid the draft beer. Wish they would update the tables and chairs. 4/5

Reviewing after two visits! We're first stumbled across this place when we came to Nac for parents weekend two months ago. We had some good cocktails. I'm sure we had some apps too. This time around we got the steak salad, pad tai, pho, and shrimp salad. All were pretty tasty. Their mimosas are good but our favorite is their Summer Fizz. Highly recommend! We'll definitely put this place on repeat when we're back in town. see pics:)

Food was so good, service was great, and the ambiance was awesome. I went with my family so it was about 8 of us we were visiting my nephew who goes to SFA and he recommended the place his favorite place to eat. I ordered the curry at level 1 it was so good. They have different levels of spiciness for the curry.

We are big sushi eaters, and are always looking to try a new place. It's not a "fancy" Asian restaurant, but quaint and clean. We were greeted and seated right away, and our server was very polite. The menus, table and booth were clean. Nothing sticky, thank goodness. Nice and quiet also. It's nice to be able to hear each other talk for a change. The prices are very fair for the portion size, and the food came out fast. We ordered raw sushi and hot food. The sushi was well made, and fish cut properly-not paper thin like other places tend to do. Good sized, proper portions. The ponzu sauce was really good, and I am picky about that, not too tart or too sweet. The hot dish was the human style Chicken and shrimp, which was just right. Not too spicy, and picture perfect. It definitely had NOT sat under a heat lamp, and was extremely fresh and very delicious! The sushi entree came with soup and we chose the hot and sour. Now, that is one of my most favorite soups, and they got it right. Best hot and sour soup I have ever had. In all, we give it 5 stars all the way around. I do not know why this place wasn't packed on a Saturday night. We are from Tyler, and they have some great Asian restaurants there-this one absolutely would make it in Tyler and that says a lot. I hope this review helps to bring them more customers! Thanks for a nice date night! We will be back.

We decided to go to the nearby park with our kids before heading to one for dinner. My husband and I were chatting about the options and a nearby man chimed in about Vienmex - come to find out it was Jared, the owner! We talked for a while about other stuff, he was very kind and told us all about his wife's restaurant so we decided to give it a try. Happens to be the best of both worlds cause my husband always wants Mexican food and I always want Asian! It was a Monday night so only 2-3 other parties inside. The place has a fun atmosphere and lots of table games which was great for our 3 kids. The food was awesome! We ordered the monster platter to try a little of everything. I loved the sushi taco! The teriyaki chicken hibarito and orange zest wings were also standout. We also ordered a tropical quesadilla and bang bang shrimp tacos which were both delicious too!

The cozy place with a spacious outdoor area was clean and peaceful. The decor is unusual, like a sort of Christian street art subway/outside place, with a large tree against the back wall and a cloud of cotton pulsing with blue lights. We played tabletop Connect-four while waiting for the delicious food. He had a deep fried burrito which was good but maybe a bit heavy on rice. I had the tacos.. two shrimp and one carne asada. The only problem was a bit too much heat from jalapeños. We had the egg rolls as appetizer, they were crunchy and yummy and served with a cooling dipping sauce. He had unsweet ice tea, nice and fresh and I had a Coke Zero. The Coke Zero came in a can and when I went to buy a second, the owner would have none of it. Gave me a second one. I attempted to put $ in the tip jar for it and he politely refused , 'my place, my rules. It's a blessing to serve you, both.' The menu is quite extensive and we'll go back! The bowls looked appealing! Also there's ice cream but we didn't partake.

After stumbling upon this gem, we travel 45 minutes to eat here when we're craving sushi, and I would probably come farther! The staff is always friendly and the decor is well done. The only issue is it is always freezing inside. I've eaten sushi across the state and this place is affordable, especially for quality! I'd expect to pay 20$ plus a roll for this sushi in a big city! It is a refreshing experience to have sushi where the filling and fish are the star! The fish is never fishy and always fresh! The rice is not so thick that it's half the roll, and it's not drowning in sauce! The sauces take their rightful place as an accompaniment instead of covering up the other flavors of the rolls! Also there are garnishes and flavors you don't find everywhere like fried crab stick strips, sprouts, and citrus! We've been here multiple times and never come away disappointed! Not to mention, I don't know anywhere you can get hot stone, cook at your table A5 wagyu anywhere in east Texas. I cannot attest to the grill items as we always go for the sushi, but the kids never complain about them. Sorry about the pics; as usual, we all dig in before I get pictures of the whole dishes!
