Congratulations! You've managed to make bland Chinese take out... I don't know how you did it but you did. The food tastes like stale rice and sadness. Doesn't even taste like soy sauce... don't waste your money. read more

Worst Chinese food I've had in years. Not one redeeming thing about the food. I got a combo plate of sweet and sour pork and Mongolian beef. They took the liberty of drenching it in sweet and sour sauce which by the time I got home, the pork was soggy. There were maybe 4 or 5 nice sized pieces of beef with no spice to it whatsoever. The crab rangoons were soggy and tasted nasty. Do not eat here!!!! read more

Formosa Express - Chinese Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Been going here forever. Love it. Sesame chicken is on point. I wish they still delivered. You can't beat the place for the price. Tons of food. read more

So far everything I've had there is good. I love their spicy garlic chicken and fried rice!

Formosa has got to be one of the best fast food Chinese places I have ever tried. Don't let the bullet holes in the walls intimidate you because you will miss out on deliciousness. Their beef and broccoli is the best. I've also tried their cashew chicken, egg rolls, beef on a stick that is marinated o so well and their noodles are pretty good too. Best of all they are super affordable especially during lunch hour! The only thing I wasn't too fond of was their soups as there really isn't that much broth in there but more meat or veggies which some people like. The fortune cookies are ultra hard too so I say to stick to the entrees. There is a drive through if you dont want to get out of your car because it's located in a neighborhood that isn't too glorious but the food keeps me coming back. I've talked to some of the business owners/workers around the area and most of them come here almost EVERY DAY for lunch. That's gotta mean Formosa is doing something right. read more

Been ordering take out from them for years good food and speedy service very polite every time

Yummy! I had the sesame chicken. Lunch special from 11-3pm. $4.75 with brown rice, egg roll and a drink. Good food... nice quantity... low price. Standard Young & Young fortune cookie. Somewhat loud HLN blaring on the overhead TV, but I won't hold that against them. Not sure if they do refills. I had root beer. They put it in a styrofoam cup. You order and they make a tray for you and bring it out to your table when it's ready, so you see people sitting at their tables with nothing in front of them for awhile. Friendly staff. It looks like this used to be a Dairy Queen! I got to park right in front of the door and was thus in the shade under the overhang! That made a pleasant difference when I got back in my car later and it wasn't 250 degrees inside. As I sat waiting for my chow, I noticed that an air conditioner was right above the door, dripping water all over the concrete outside. I thought that I better be careful not to get dripped on when I went out. But when I left it turned out not to be an issue because the drip was on the hinge side of the door, so no worries! I stubbed my right big toe coming in (I always wear sandal-like flip flops these days). There is like a one-inch "step" as you approach the door which I didn't see, and I kicked it quite squarely and righteously! Boy was I pissed for about 20 seconds! No permanent harm done. I am videoing some haunted house construction work going on in the vicinity of this place, so I'm sure I'll hit it again. I'll watch out for that little step next time! UPDATE: 20100914 - I went back a couple weeks ago and they DO give you free drink refills if you go back up to the counter! BONUS! read more

Love this place! Like honestly best Chinese food! The portions are big and the prices are very inexpensive! I've ordered numerous items from them and each dish was delicious! Their orange chicken is the best orange chicken I've ever had! Definitely recommend this place! Love this place! Amazing, affordable, inexpensive Chinese food! Best Orange Chicken I've ever had! The portions are so big they last me for 3 meals! I definitely recommend this place! read more

Close to home....not too bad. I dislike their plastic ware but other than that, the staff is nice, prices are reasonable for the amount of food they serve you. read more

Wow, a $6 meal that included the drink? Amazing and very tasty, large portions...bring your appetite. The Human chicken was very good, the right amount of spice and very fast. There is a citrus component to the sauce, intriguing and satisfying. Sorry, no picture, I was hungry. read more

Well the reviews were good, and the parking lot was full so I gave it a try! Not bad for the price but a little bland. It's a great place for take out which is what I did and brought it home to doctor it up. I got the garlic chicken. Now I am a garlicaholic, you just can't put too much garlic in my food, but some people turn up their nose if you even pass an unopened container of garlic power across their food so to say it wasn't garlicy enough for me is an understatement, but there was also not much flavor at all to the brown sauce over the multitude of veggies and chicken. I added some Bragg's aminios (similar to soy without gluten) then a generous amount of peanut sauce and Thai sweet chili sauce and it was just perfect. I only wish I had some almonds to give the dish a bit more crunch. The staff was very nice and my food was out faster than I could get to the restroom and back. I would be willing to try more of their dishes simply because of the price, service and the huge amount of food they give you, as long as I can bring it home and doctor it up with my own seasonings. I got two really good sized meals out of one order. read more

Lunch special plates for 4.75, taxes included. This food is soooo good. Everytime i am in the neighborhood i convince my sister to buy me lunch here. its cheap, includes a drink and worth going. its not fancy, and indeed its very very casual.... u will have people from all walks of life walking in. formosa express makes me happy. free refills too! read more

The food is about a 6/10, but the pricing is quite a value. I come here every few months. It's quick and easy on the wallet. Just don't be expecting deliciousness and you won't be disappointed. read more

I love the garlic beef I go there like a few times a week it's that good ! I actually been going there ever since they opened in 1995 back when they use to deliver to my work. They don't deliver anymore but I am sure you can use Uber eats for whatever you want. I highly recommend their food and there great customer service. Always so nice I always tip them cause they always take good care of me. read more

Great fast Chinese food! Huge portions, and always fresh. Orange chicken, General Tso's, and cashew chicken are my favorites. Very inexpensive. Try their homemade hot mustard. It'll light you up. read more

Friendly employees/owners. Nice option for the "I think I want some 'Chinese' food" nights. :) read more

The staff are terrible. They didn't come to the intercom to take my order. I had to pull up and not at in the window. I do spoke to the manager and he the not apologize. He kept saying they were busy taking orders on the phone. That's not no excuse. I will not go back. read more

This place is awesome. I've been eating there for years. The hot and sour soup is great. Can't beat the Mongolian chicken. And the twiced cooked pork is delicious. It's nice to go into a place where they remember your name and already know what I'm gonna order. read more

Tried Formosa Express based on the reviews. We ordered the Sesame Chicken, Hunan Chicken with Sweet & Sour Pork, and Vegetable Lo Mein. The meals came with egg rolls and a choice of steamed or fried rice. The Vegetable Lo Mein was good with a nice mixture of broccoli, onions, cabbage, water chestnuts, and bamboo shoots. The other menu selections were bland in taste. Even the egg rolls really had no flavor. The prices were reasonable, but the food simply did not live up to the previous reviews. I suppose they could have had an off night, but we were disappointed. read more

Large portions, low prices, and friendly staff what's not to love? The Orange Chicken is spectacular, though I wish it had some vegetables in it. I bet if I asked for some broccoli in it they would have obliged. It just seems like that kind of place. If you are a carnivore, however, it is definitely the meal for you. They have all the other standard Chinese food, a few curies, and fried sea food. read more

Is this traditional food you will find on the streets of China, no, but it IS good Chinese style food. They are quick, inexpensive and large portions. If you eat in and you like the Chinese hot mustard, be sure and try their homemade version, it is REALLY good. Do not let the nay sayers keep you from trying this little gem. I am sure you will find it as wonderful as I do. Bon Appetite! read more

The food was nothing special. Both dishes we ordered tasted the same and one was chicken and other beef but both tasted like orange chicken . The name Express is right. They are fast too fast for fresh food. read more

Not very impressed with Lomain. It was missing a lot of flavor. And when I asked for spice they just gave me a regular one.

This is not Chinese food. This is crap that chinese people serve to dumb americans that don't know the difference. I came here based on the reviews as well. I should have looked to see that not one review was by someone asian. If Chinese people don't eat there then you shouldn't either. The food was so bad I couldn't eat it and threw it away. They serve everything with nasty fried rice that is doused in soy sauce. Greasy! No sticky white rice. You can taste that just about everything was either frozen in a really dirty smelly freezer (because you could taste it in the dumplings and egg roll!) or came out of a can and wasn't rinsed properly. If all you people that gave this place 5 stars want to know what real Chinese food taste like, go to Monkey Noodle Company in Deep Ellum or drive to Richardson to Jeng Chi or Garland to the Asian areas and eat were Asian people eat so you know how you have been lied to. Really, really gross food. read more

I got the Orange chicken and it was really good! I think I would come here instead of Panda Express, because they make it the way I like it (with tiny pieces). I didn't like the rice though, but I'm not a huge rice person either, so I guess it was okay. It was a good serving with a good amount of food. I liked it. read more

This is not even real Chinese food. Absolutely the WORST. We have eaten in Chinatown in San Francisco and know the difference. Go somewhere else. read more

The most bang for your buck for sure. Great price for the amount of food you get with every order. If you have a partner whose metabolism is 10x faster than yours. This is a great place to order out. read more

Used to like this place bc it was ok food & cheap...they also deliver. However, last week I got the Kung Pao chicken & I found a long black hair cooked into a piece of chicken. Threw my meal away & won't be going back. read more

Super quick delivery. Very decent food for the price! We ordered orange chicken, beef Lo mein and pot stickers. :-)

Its cheap 'Chinese' food and fast!! I have gotten drive thru and delivery so far, and I can say they are consistent. Prices are low and portions are large!! Can't go wrong with some hot n sour soup and their schezuan noodles. Its the closest Chinese food to my house, so I'm not a regular. One thing, I with their fried rice had egg or the standard carrots/peas just to give it some flavor. Also, haven't tried any of their non-Chinese fare (they have chicken fingers and fried catfish too) and I'm not sure I ever will. read more

In my desperation for quick Chinese food, I decided to try this joint. I mean $5.25 for most entrees don't seem so bad. I went through the drive-thru and ordered the garlic shrimp. I got mine order within a reasonable amount of time. Price was cheap and I got out of there fast. What could go wrong? Came home and instead of getting what I ordered, I got some chicken dish with mushrooms/baby corns. Not pleased, but whatever...let me try this out. Taste like crap....extremely bland all around. I ate about 1/4 and I am done. Unfortunately, I had to throw the rest in the trash and I hate to throw food away. Lesson learned for today: you get what you pay for. read more

The egg rolls are amazing! The shrimp fried rice is good and they serve you big portions whether you are eating in there or taking it home. Their shrimp lo mein is good as well! read more

I have been ordering food from this place since right after they opened. Called for delivery, just 5 blocks from them tonight, and was told that they no longer deliver! They just lost my business for good! read more

This place is a great value! Hot and sour soup, general tao chicken, beef flat noodles and combination fried rice are their best dishes IMO.

Delicious!!! Could possibly be the best Chinese food and service in the area. The service is friendly and the food is fresh.

Best combo fried rice. Large portions. Low prices. Speedy service considering how busy they get.

They are in the 75227 zip code, yet they don't deliver in 75227. Google search showed them to be less than 3 miles from my location. If you live in their backyard chances are....they won't deliver. read more

Qtys are generous, but sadly lacking flavor. Hot & Sour soup was neither, and Hunan Beef, which should be spicy, was very bland. Pricing is right, meat and vegetables are good, but no spice or flavor. read more

Portion was ample. Meat to rice ratio was excellent. Fast and friendly service. Meal very tasty. Price reasonable.

So much food for your money! The egg drop soup was a little too thick for my taste, but that's just me. Great customer service and a lot of options. Also- they have a drive thru! read more
