    Miso Ramen

Idk where to begin. from the very beginning when you walk in there is an overwhelming and unappetizing smell of sewage. I should have left from there but I thought I'd give it a chance. My husband's ramen was not it. We returned it bc the egg was cold, the noodles were not fully cooked and meat was overcooked. My sushi was okay but it didn't have a full layer of rice around it and was falling apart with each bite. The ambiance has potential but it doesn't feel clean. Especially with the smell. The servers were very sweet and they are aware of the issues in the kitchen. Apparently the chef doesn't take criticism very well. He was going to make us pay half for the ramen "bc he ate some of it". Once he saw us talking to the server, he yelled from the kitchen to remove it from the bill. I honestly felt bad for the servers bc they probably deal with this all day. I left them a large tip for being so kind. This place could really survive if they tried but sounds like the chef doesn't want to. Especially with the location in Southlake I don't think it will last very long. Too bad bc it's a perfect location for Asian cuisine!

I was craving ramen on a cold day and there are not a lot of ramen options near Southlake. I tried Ozeki and would return there. The lunch special that comes with your choice of a California or spicy tuna roll is a good option. There was a $3 upcharge for wavy noodles, so it's a pricy lunch. The broth itself was fine, very simple. I received 5 star service.

Trash, unless you like getting upcharged for basic necessities to enjoy a meal. Chicken ramen is 18$, so is pork ramen, but to sub one for the other it's 3$. They don't have spicy ramen, but chili paste would cost 2$ extra. Also, they only put one sliver of meat in your ramen that contains a lingering after taste. Crazy.

Matcha Mont Blanc was good!!!! Must try. But Be aware, their "Shrimp Tempura" is NOT TEMPURA. It is deep fried shrimp with panko like the korokke. The sushi was decent and not too pricey. The staff is very friendly and professional.

We love this spot! Solid 5 stars. Outstanding servers/employees work here! Everything we have ordered here has always been delicious and they only use the freshest, quality ingredients. We have lived in Southlake for just a few months and have been here at least 5 or 6 times. Portions are perfect and their prices are on par with other local spots or less. The hot meals we have had are the chicken teriyaki, Bulgogi, gyoza and and spicy garlic edamame... My husband loves their ramen! The fish is the star at Ozeki and I recommend the Ahi tower and the Yellowtail Heaven both are EXCELLENT! Cucumber salad and the poke are both great too! We always get the same rolls and enjoy them.....their Porche roll and the Spicy tuna roll. They have outside seating when the weather is nice and they allow dogs on the patio - bonus. Great sake (hot and cold) as well as a nice beer and wine selection. Shout out to the waitstaff at Ozeki. Thank you for all you do! Servers play an important role in guest satisfaction and its so refreshing to visit a restaurant with excellent service!!! So nice how you have created rapport with your customers:)

Just take nothing People here really need to go to Japan...

Eel was disgusting. There is no way Koreans cook authentic Japanese food. Karaage chicken was just fried chicken with no taste. As a person from Japan, any food they make is not acceptable.

Probably the best ramen I ever had. The best gyoza too. Listen I could try to describe it in words but you will 100% not be disappointed in either of the options I choose. Looking to come back for the lobster ramen for a special occasion. I know they will not disappoint. The gyoza was just the best flavor I ever had.

I went the day before Thanksgiving and the japanese chef was a one man show. He was the only one running the establishment because everyone else had left to go to Japan for the holiday. He is so so so so nice. I don't go back to restaurants very often but this place has my heart. This time I got the spicy pork ramen (17), spicy garlic chicken ramen (18), and then got the spicy garlic pork ramen (19) togo. I will say it is a little bit salty, with the garlic ones being more salty than the non garlic ones. However the garlic ones do have more flavor. There's not that much meat/protein either just one piece of meat and an egg. The could be slightly better but it's still good. It also just has bamboo shoots but nothing else. A very simple bowl. Ambiance is nice, it feels upscale but also homey at the same time. They have an open kitchen concept which I like.

I had to dig for it. I know they probably put the meat at the bottom so it'll warm up with the broth, but I prefer it at the top. The egg was whole and cooked so it was a little runny inside, which I liked. I also liked the noodles. Unrelated to the food, I sat on the bench and there was a customer sitting on the bench beside me. She kept shifting around and causing the entire bench to move, which I didn't like.

Excellent service, ambiance, and food!…read more The Chef's choice 5 piece sushi had tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and 2 others I had never heard of. The 2 others were the best ones. Sake toro and mendaiko cream udon were fantastic. I had no idea shrimp was in the pasta as we didn't see any. Chicken thigh yakitori was also very good. Very flavorful, but wished they would marinate it in the glaze that just gets brushed on. Salmon roll, tuna roll, and yaki gyoza were fine. Probably wouldn't order them again. Spicy tuna hand roll was good, but eat it quickly so the nori doesn't get soft and chewy. Unagi hand roll was fine, nothing special. Service was great, they quickly cleared empty dishes. My only con is the suggested gratuity at the bottom is calculated with tax included, meaning you're tipping on tax if you just check one. Hell would freeze over before I ever tipped on tax. That should be illegal.

The fish quality here is always super fresh, which is why I keep coming back. One of my favorites is the mentaiko udon as it is creamy and noodles are chewy. Service can be a bit slow during dinner hours. Our waitress forgot about our salad until the end, so we ended up not getting it. She also missed that we noted it was a birthday celebration and forgot the candle, so we had to remind her. That said, they gave us cheesecake on the house for the wait, which was a really nice gesture and appreciated. Overall, great food and fresh fish, just expect a slower pace during busy times

The beef was thinly sliced, not greasy, and paired well with the curry. It also came with pickled radish on the side, which helped cleanse the palate. Nothing too crazy, but definitely fun to eat. The server was friendly and very mindful of allergies. I loved that the utensils are kept in a small drawer by the table, clean and doesn't take up space. HOWEVER... let me spill the tea. The rest of my party (3 other people) absolutely HATED their dishes. I have an egg allergy, so I couldn't try their katsu or ramen, which I found a bit surprising, since most ramen places I've been to don't use eggs in the noodles themselves. I was torn because I genuinely enjoyed my dish, but considering this is primarily a ramen shop, I feel obligated to share their experience. The ramen broth was very bland almost milky, and the meat was chewy and disappointing. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time, so it was no big deal, but worth noting. The service was actually the highlight of the night, and earned this review one additional star simply because of the effort involved. Else it would be a 3 star review. There was only one server running the entire front of house while the restaurant got progressively busier, and only two chefs in the kitchen. Despite being swamped, the server worked her tail off. She didn't mess up a single order for our large group and kept things moving. I greatly appreciated her hard work. Appetizers (5/5): The wait for food was noticeable due to the staffing, but the appetizers were worth it. We ordered the Edamame, Yatai Gyoza, Agedashi Tofu, and Takoyaki, and all of them were delicious. Entrees (3/5): Unfortunately, the main courses were a bit basic compared to the starters. The Tonkotsu Ramen was strictly average; I've definitely had better broth and noodles elsewhere. If you are looking for the top-tier quality izakaya, Mr. Max Izakaya in Irving is hands down better option. However, you have to wait an hour for a table there.
