I have been getting food from this place for years! Less and less often each time because the quality has been declining over the years. Last time I ordered the noodles where overcooked they were soggy and gummy, they were also dry. And the sesame chicken was mostly batter chunks, barely any actual chicken. The food was very oily and very poor quality over all. I also agree with other customers about the customer service. The young people that work there are very rude and it looks like they HATE being there. They need to work on that. The place is very plain and boring not well kept or decorated. Been ordering take out from here for years and while its NEVER been amazing it also hasn't been horrible UNTIL last night ...ordered sesame chicken with fried rice [which they screwed up an gave us steamed rice] but we were hungry an let it slide until we got to the entree ..the pieces of chicken were NOT chicken at but instead huge chunks of ALL batter with VERY little actual meat to make it worse the chicken that was there was old/hard [disgusting] ...we actually cut open each piece to find only a VERY few small pieces of chicken with 90% batter chunks, most so hard they were inedible AND the girl that took our order over the phone was VERY rude ! I love this place! I have been going here since I was in elementary school and I'm 37 years old! We always order it to go then go pick it up as it's the perfect amount of time from our house to Mr teriyaki. We always get the chicken bowls with extra sauce, it's seriously soooo delish. I frequently eat here and typically the food is very good. However, today it was bland and didn't taste good at all. So, I returned the food to only experience the worst customer service by the owner because I asked for my money back. By the way, I was extremely polite when I asked for my money back. The older Asian guy who is the owner was extremely rude. He told me that he'll give me my back and for no reason told me to never come back. I simply turned around and walked out once I received my voided receipt. I've never been talked to in such a disrespectful manner and I do not recommend anyone eating here. Walking in to the typical Asian restaurant poorly decorated with an empty aquarium. No greeting at all by the 3 employees who are family members dressed in crappy clothes. Asked for a the sauce tray sitting at the front counter and was rudely told they have to put in the food. After waiting over 20 minutes for the food we were told the egg rolls don't come with sauce and its extra. Asked for another sauce and the rude employee said all sauce is extra. I went up the the counter and just took the soy and duck sauce packets myself. Also took the fortune cookies myself. The California roll was almost hot and had almost no crab and no avocado(see pic) it was the worst sushi. The Mongolian beef was oil and barely palatable. These people need to watch a video on customer service and friendliness or shut this place down. I love to support small businesses but this place is a true letdown. I have probably been here at least 30 times since 2008 and am happy to say it was one of my most frequented places for an affordable meal. When I was enrolled at Eastfield (just 5 minutes away) I would come here almost every day after class, sometimes I'd take a meal home to go, but mostly it became my little after-school sanctuary to eat lunch. I've taken several people here, and all enjoy it and become future customers. Food: The food is pretty basic in the best way possible. Most entrees consist of some type of grilled protein (chicken, beef, beef rib, yakitori) and rice and veggies. I usually get the teriyaki bowl (chicken) or the chicken teriyaki plate which is more of a dinner portion than the bowl is. Ask for extra teriyaki sauce, each meal comes with 1 but you'll want two because it is so delicious -- sometimes I just take some sauce to go and use it to for asian food I make at home. Try the egg rolls too, they're home made! I've tried fried rice and noddles from here, and while they weren't bad -- it's best to get those at other places like Chan's in Mesquite. Atmosphere and Service: It's located in a small strip mall next to a Subway and just some yards from a Wendys. It really is hard to notice at first, and despite me going through there a lot I only found out about it by searching on Yelp. For an affordable place there isn't a lot to complain about. It's clean, there's always enough seating, and the family running it is as friendly as can be. I found there is a certain amount of perceived rudeness or frustration with staff who don't speak good English, but this is not the case here. The vibe is very mom and pop and you're always greeted with a smile. If you're tired or unimpressed with places like Panda Express or asian food at the mall, give Mr. Teriyaki a try. I don't go there as often as I once did because I'm no longer going to school in the area, but I did notice there are new owners. The menu hasn't changed, but everything does seem slightly less fresh. I will update my review if needed after my next visits. read more

How do you not have fried rice? You get white rice with a few veggies in it. It's half the food for smaller salty portions. So pissed. I have been coming here for years, several times a year, but after last night, I no longer can. I ordered a pick up and I inadvertently grabbed an extra bag. The bags were next to each other and the employee was across from me and watched but didn't point anything out. While driving home, he called and (rudely) accused me of taking the bag and demanded that I return it. I was pretty mad, but turned around (in Christmas shopping traffic) and returned it. That's not the bad part. He said he needed it back because he needed to deliver it. Seriously. After the bag of food had been sitting in my car for 20-30 minutes, he was going to take it and give it to someone else. That has to be some type of health violation. Anyway, I can never go back because I can't trust how they handle their food and how little they regard the customer. PS: If you got an order on 12/22/2017 sometime after 7 pm and it seemed to take a long time and the food was cold, that's because I drove it in the floorboard of my car for 20-30 minutes. read more
