I had chicken karaage, off the happy hour menu, salmon, yellowtail and tamago and a Wasabi roll. Reasonable prices and a fair assortment of choices on the menu. Limited choices in the sushi department, which led to the disappointing food. Fish was not the freshest. Wasabi roll was bland, how can a roll with the name wasabi be bland?? Karaage was worse than McDonalds kid's chicken nuggets. The food was 1 star. I would've complained but dry chicken and mediocre warm fish is not the waiter's fault. All the food we had was very nice nothing special. My group had shrimp, scallops, filet, new york strip (9 oz) gluten free fish of some sort not at our hibachi table, they have kitchen menu and hibachi menu as choices. Service was efficient and professional, our hibachi chef was excellent and went the extra step to be kind and friendly to the 2 and 6 year old's with our party kudos to the chef. Everything was reasonably priced which was a pleasant surprise. Very nice restaurant, one part overlooks the Rowlett side of Lake Ray Hubbard. I brought the family here for a pre-Easter lunch and I have to say, all eight of us were very impressed! The ambiance here was pretty typical Japanese steakhouse. Not quite as fancy as some you have probably been to, but don't let the looks fool you, what is not typical here is the food and service! Our waitperson Nikki was fantastic. She handled our table like a champ, including the members that had special dietary requirements. Everyone's meal came out perfectly. The food was amazing. I had the Chicken & Shrimp Hibachi. It came with Soup, Salad, Rice and Vegetables. I upgraded to fried rice. I also tried my grandson's filet mignon, and everything was amazing! I went in to order to go, while I waited for my order i decided to look around and snap a few pics. Driving up to Tokyo Hana you get to see a great view of lake Ray Hubbard next to the restaurant. When you first walk in you are greeted by the hostess, I let them know I wanted to order to go, and I viewed the menu. I ordered the soft shell crab and the sushi bento box. Everything I ordered was delicious and enough for me to share. While I was waiting, I went to the ladies room , they are handicap accessible. The food here is super good and absolutely worth the price. The portion sizes are hefty and it's a good experience over all. However, We order to go quite often and it's hit or miss with the experience, the last few times it's taken over an hour for our food when they quoted 25-30 min. I came here on my birthday for the first time last month. It was a great experience. I do love hibatchi and this place did not disappoint! The portions were great! The hibatchi chicken meal even came with 2 appetizers (soup and salad), appetizer shrimp and noodles which I was not expecting! So many hibatchi places these days only give you 1 app, no shrimp and no noodles. The price was great for the portion sizes. The chef was so kind and even gave my toddler a whole plate of hibatchi food (noodles, veggies, HIS OWN EGG) even though we only ordered him fried rice. That was so nice of him! Then they came over and put me in this cool hat and sang and did a dance for my birthday. They even gave me a free birthday ice cream! My 2 year old loved that!! We'll definitely be back! read more

This place is just ok...the waitress was no good at all. We asked for condiments for our tea and she took forever to come back with them. We asked another waitress attending another table for the same condiments and she brought them right to us. Our waitress never asked us for a refill. She acted like she had an attitude and kept cutting us off while we were seeking clarification on our order, which my husband ended up getting a wrong item on his order. The chef who cooked our food was very nice and professional. Our food was really good and not dry. We waited over an hour for her to get our tickets finalized. Will we try this place again; nope. I really enjoy hibachi cooking and I wasn't disappointed when I visited Tokyo Hana. The show and the food were both great. Of course our server whose name was Dipper aka Rylee welcomed us and gave us great suggestions for appetizers. My fiancé's friend was in town and she likes sushi and hibachi so we decided to go to Tokyo Hana. We were immediately seated but after ordering our drinks it took quite some time to receive our drinks and for a teppanyaki to come after we ordered our food. They were not busy so I was confused about the slow service and our server not very attentive. The hellfire sushi was great, the presentation could've been better. The last time we came to Tokyo Hana and ordered an entree it didn't come with noodles so that was weird and for the margarita 1/5 it was too sweet and didn't taste like any alcohol was in it. I have been here several times and normally would give 4 stars, but last night's experience was awful. The service was fine. The food, however was bland. As usual, we chose hibachi service. As I watched the chef prepare the food, I noted that he only used oil, butter and soy sauce. There were no other sauces used and definitely no sesame oil or seeds. The hibachi rice had only eggs where, in past visits to T.H. and other hibachi restaurants, it typically includes a vegetable (peas), sesame oil & seeds. The noodles were sweet which was extremely off putting. We did bring home leftovers that I will add seasonings to impart flavor. In short the food was unacceptably flavorless and a huge disappointment! Sadly we will not be back. read more

You are restricted to the bar area, which has a couple of high top tiny tables for two and some bar seating and that is it. My family came into town and we decided to try this place last Friday. I'm the middle of our meal the chef started bullying a a young female coworker, yelling at her so loud causing a scene. It was such an ugly thing to see, we were completely turned off by the experience. For this reason, we will never come back. I hope the owner of the company properly handled this situation and put someone in his place who deserving. I am in the service industry and have been for almost 20 years, and I know how helpful Yelp can be but at the same time, I also want to note that I understand that some people that write reviews just to complain, so I really don't write reviews unless it's REALLY BAD. My experience was that bad... It was my nephews 16th birthday celebration and we had a reservation AT THAT For 6pm. Our hibachi chef NEVER came out and we waited there until 7:30 before we decided to get up and leave. Look, I understand if a place is short staffed, running behind, I GET THAT, but PLEASE just communicate that! It took my sister in law going up there to find out what was going on. Just very poor communication And very disappointing because I hadn't been to this place since I was a kid when I lived here in Rowlett. I would've understood if we hadn't made a reservation and we were just a walk-in, but WE HAD A RESERVATION and they called to confirm it and it was confirmed! I'm a VERY patient and understanding person so it took me a lot to write this and I'm honestly sorry to the restaurant that I did have to wrote it, but I did have to let other people know in hopes the same thing won't happen to another family. read more

We tried a handful of places before finding this one. This is our favorite so far! We came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated immediately. The place sits on the lake and though our seating didn't have a view, there are some that do. We requested a booth and were seated near the sushi station ! There was a TV and entertainment watching sushi be made. We ordered the gyoza which was my least favorite thing tried. These are my go to apps at Japanese restaurants but the texture of these ones were off. Our sushi came in huge portions. What you see pictured was essentially after I'd eaten already half. It could've been a meal in and of itself. It was beautifully presented and delicious! I got the happy roll and my fiancé got the hell fire roll . We both got a hibachi lunch combo . Though this was lunch, the prices were still relatively high. $22+ depending on the combo chosen. For a hibachi single protein meal the cheapest was $14. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The yum yum sauce color was off and a bit runny but it sufficed. All in all for 2 lunch hibachi plates, two sushi rolls, and a order of gyoza our ticket came up to $95! We didn't even order any drinks, we had water. This would have maybe been reasonable for dinner but felt outrageous for a lunch menu! I would hate to see the dinner prices lol. I guess you get what you pay for.
