Sushi Go - The Edamame is great as well! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Rowlett, Texas

The food is okay--it's more of a place to go for convenience than for an exceptional meal. I have also had inconsistent food quality. On one visit, the edamame tasted like soap, which made it inedible. However, one thing has consistently bothered me. Every time I pick up my order, the manager comments on or complains that I ordered through DoorDash. As a customer, that makes me feel uncomfortable. Instead of feeling appreciated for supporting the business, I leave feeling guilty for how I chose to place my order. I understand that third-party delivery services charge restaurants fees, but that's an issue between the restaurant and the delivery platform--not the customer. Customers shouldn't be made to feel bad for using a service that the restaurant chooses to offer. Unfortunately, because of these repeated experiences, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

Is it Tuesday and Kaizen across the street is is closed ? That's how I ended up here . There is a target audience for this spot but I just wasn't feeling it . 2 bowls(eel & poke) and spicy shrimp roll pretty standard price for all 3 . Just under 50 bucks total. You don't come here to sit inside and eat .. very bare. Uncomfortable looking chairs and tables dim/dull vibe. Picture menu on the side wall with clear pricing . Enough room for one sushi chef to assembly line style make rolls and one cashier to take orders and handle any dine in customers . Heavy bed of rice is expected in the bowls but there was zero seasoning or sauce in the bowl. If it's listed on description it was present (minus the masago) tuna , salmon and spicy crab (not spelled with a k or any indication it was imitation crab) ginger and avocado. Wife had the eel bowl wasn't missing any listed ingredients but very plain no additional flavor/seasonin read more

The restaurant was great and service was awesome. Sushi was ok. My son and his friend loved it and the options were great. To me, mine just had too much for the spicy mayo which was overpowering. read more

Sushi is good here, we had crazy shrimp roll and a monster roll delivered. Wasabi was only included with crazy shrimp roll and they only sent 2 tiny packets of soy sauce. The rolls were great, especially the crazy shrimp roll. However, if we didn't have our own wasabi and sou sauce the meal would have been ruined. Presentation was also very poor. Again the sushi is great and we love this place for the quality of sushi but not providing basics is a huge detriment. read more

We enjoy the food every time we come. The food is consistently good, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Everybody hates their job here must be management issues with that. The food is ok the atmosphere awful. Poor dinning experience

Quality sushi. Also really enjoy the hand rolls. Nice place to grab a bite, dine in or order take out.

Everything was excellent! To share, I ordered the Crunch Crab Roll, 2 California rolls, cucumber roll, avocado roll, and finished off with Bing Soo for dessert. We were greeted by one of the employees who opened the door for us and immediately another employee greeted us and took our order. Everything was ready very quickly and brought to our table. The restaurant is clean and the volume of the music is perfect. read more

Looking good with new interior remodel. Same speedy service, good quality, and decent prices. Staff is pleasant, helpful, and busy with order pickups, or takeout pre-orders. It is counter-serve, order brought to your table. 6 new tables & chairs. A bench seat across one wall. Also a wall counter along one wall with 5 chairs for single-Pringles. I ordered a California Roll and let's say without the soy sauce they would be trash can bound not worth the $7 the crab meat taste like a canned meat NO SEASONING at all imitation meat tastes at least somewhat sweet this is not. And the reason you see the crab meat in the corner is due to the rolls falling apart they weren't rolled tight enough. Going back is a : NO ! read more

Okay for a small shop in Rowlett, they definitely had the best sushi in Rockwall, Rowlett, and Garland respectively. We got 6 rolls just to give a fair chance and all rolls were amazing. We ate the food there and the service was great, although we were the only people there. I hope this restaurant blows up and gets crowded, they deserve it read more

I find myself ordering from sushi go to get a quick taste of sushi. I will say that it is OK, but not great in my opinion. However, I have visited on more than one occasion. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. The prices are fair. read more

Because of the COVID I got desperate and ordered take out sushi... So don't expect the greatest sushi here, but if you want some cheap and fast sushi then this place will do the job. I ordered a variety of rolls so here is my quick little thoughts on each one. Chef's Batter Tuna Roll -The fried batter was crispy and not greasy, so thumbs up for that. I just didn't like the cooked tuna so I would retry it with a different fish. Salmon roll -Its a simple roll but probably my favorite. The quality of the salmon was good and the veggies had a good crunch. Ell roll -the texture of the eel was a little too soft and mushy. I prefer the eel to be tougher so I wouldn't order this again. Crab roll -this was my least favorite roll. The roll was very bland and none of the flavors really stood out for me. Each sushi comes with a side of pickled ginger and some wasabi. I attached pictures below of each roll so you can get an idea of what it looks like. The recommendation: I would say the sushi here is a little better than the sushi from the grocery store but that's about it. If you're on a budget and just want some inexpensive sushi than this place is good for that, but you get what you pay. Personally I would pay that little extra and to get better sushi elsewhere next time. read more

Sushi Go - Sushi Bars Near Me - Rowlett, Texas

Tonight was my first experience with Sushi Go. Got home from work expecting to make a meal at home, but my husband was stuck late at work, so I opted for delivery. I'm an avid sushi fan, and also lazy (especially after a hard days work) so Sushi Go is perfect for me! Since moving to Rowlett in February, I haven't really had luck finding a dependable sushi restaurant. Very happy with this one. Called in my order at 8:00pm (cucumber roll, salmon roll, miso soup, and side salad). The gentleman taking my order was kind and courteous. Took my order and estimated about 30 minutes for delivery. I actually anticipated it being longer because of heavy rain and crazy drivers. 15 minutes after placing my order, the delivery driver was knocking at my door. He was very friendly and immediately complimented my pug who excitedly ran to the doorway. Not only did he bring me sushi, but happily gave my dog ear rubs and made sure he didn't zoom out of the door (which he attempts frequently). Despite the rain and colder weather, he was personable and took the time to make my delivery a memorable one (most other delivery drivers hand over food, take cash, and zoom off). The food: both rolls exceeded expectation. The salmon portion was huge. Both salmon and cucumber were fresh. Good rice to filling ratio. The salad was your typical Japanese restaurant house salad, but with dressing on the side (so as not to make the lettuce soggy). The miso soup was flavorful with chopped onion, seaweed, and spices. Most miso soup orders I've had are delivered as a simple, cloudy broth. This one was perfect for a rainy night inside. Overall, I'm very happy with finding this gem. A restaurant is not only about the food, but about the service as well. Sushi Go has both of these things perfected. I will definitely eat here again. Great price! read more

Soooo we are this locations biggest fan. We order from them at least once a week and they cater to our insanity quite well. Their double shrimp roll is really good, as is their King Kong roll. One time we had a bad order in regards to freshness, and we spoke to them about it, and since then they have been on top of it. I recommend this place. read more

The sushi here is a must have. I've prettty much have tried them all from coming here so much. Definitely recommend

I love this place! Minimalist atmosphere, very clean. Pokedon is my favorite! Their spicy tuna is awesome. Their staff is always friendly, the food tastes fresh, and I love their sauces! There are several different ones around the metroplex and although they don't have the same menus they usually have make your own bowl or accommodate you on the choices they have by tweaking them to your liking. My favorite go-to sushi place! I highly recommend read more

We love this place! Easy to order from Yelp and our food is always fresh and ready when we pick up!

Fantastic sushi! Had sushi from here for the second time since moving to Texas and love it. Great people and great service!

So, long story short, a group of friends and I really wanted sushi and placed an order for Sushi Go after being told they had really good sushi. Unfortunately, after placing the order on Uber eats (don't recommend) we realized it was placed for not Arlington (where we were), but Rowlett! Uber eats does not go easy on you when you make a mistake so we thought our only option was to make the hour and a half drive out to get our sushi. Once we arrived, we found out Uber eats had cancelled our order because we took too long to get it, it was out of our hands and there was nothing the restaurant could do. So naturally, we placed another order of the exact same thing, since they had gone through the trouble of making the $150 order and we just drove so far in traffic. I want to be so clear when I say, the staff at Sushi Go in Arlington we're very helpful and the staff at Sushi Go in Rowlett went ABOVE & BEYOND. They were helpful and considerate of our situation, they tried to help us find a solution and in the end, gave us 3 free drinks for all our troubles. They made a difficult situation better and got our entire (definitely not small) order 100% correct. That is SO rare when you place a big order. All of the food was delicious, even after sitting for so long and we definitely recommend them. We plan to go back and sit in the restaurant to enjoy the chill atmosphere here soon. If you need sushi, you need Sushi Go! read more

I'm so grateful for this sushi gem. The service is amazing here! My daughter and I come here often and they treat us like family. Randy has amazing sushi making skills and Lexi has a very sweet customer service attitude that shows they're happy to serve. Both are very welcoming! My favorite things to order are their spicy ramen, shrimp tempura, red dragon and golden california roll. They recently added a mochi dessert that satisfied my sweet tooth, (the one I ordered was the strawberry bing soo) which was light, fluffy and had several types of textures that worked together to make the dessert well rounded (there was mini mochi balls, Oreo cereal, and Frosted Flakes in mine). My daughter ordered the Oreo one and she can't stop talking about it. I'm not really a soda guy but I love peaches and they have a Japanese peach soda that is very crispy and refreshing, goes well with anything I eat here and I enjoy this drink so much I often come by for just the drink if I'm in the area. My daughter loves the Remu soda that tastes like bubblegum. The interior is decorated in a simple yet elegant way and the aesthetics make it that much more enjoyable to stick around. As a chef, I often come here with a pen and paper to create menus for my customers and I find this place to be an excellent spot to flow my creativity. read more

I was so happy to see a sushi delivery place open up. Ecstatic even. But man, was I disappointed. First off, it's a $25 minimum for delivery. Which, fine, okay, I'll order 3-4 rolls but that was more than I could really eat. I ordered the ahi tuna tower which was deconstructed and without much tuna, a California roll and a Philadelphia roll. Nothing really seemed to have much protein in it. The prices just did not justify the amount of meat. The flavor was okay, it just wasn't something I would seek out in the future. It took roughly 45 minutes to receive my delivery, which seemed a bit slow to me. I would call again if I really didn't want to get out of the house, and needed delivery, but otherwise I'll hit up sushi elsewhere. read more

Definitely the best sushi I've ever had in my life. Their menu has a HUGE variety and many things to pick from, even good things that people who don't like sushi will eat. Sushi is my absolute favorite food so I always need to know the best places to get sushi and this is definitely one of them. My three favorite rolls to get are the Hot Mama, Candy Cane, and Philadelphia rolls. I suggest this a lot more for takeout than dine in, as they only have about 3 booths available to sit in. The service is quick, considering they make the sushi right in front of you when you order it. This is an amazing sushi place for all my sushi lovers and is definitely worth a try. read more

First off, this was the weirdest experience I've ever had picking up an order. The girl working was very rude and the interaction was just strange. They claimed to not have my order when I said I was there to pick one up. After showing her my confirmation email, things finally got cleared up. Obviously a place like this isn't meant to be super high quality sushi, but it wasn't good. I'll be sticking to my usual place across the bridge from now on. read more

We have eaten at Sushi Go restaurants before. Our family decided to eat in for lunch today. This one in Rowlet charges for spicy mayo and eel sauce. Disappointing! Miso soup didn't have flavor We ordered 3 speciality rolls Monster roll $12.95 Mostly rice Crab Lovers Roll Mostly imitation crab. Hot Mama Roll Was alright we have had better. All seaweed was tough to chew. The place is completely empty. House salad $3 was shredded iceberg lettuce with 4 tiny slices of avocado. The prices are higher than many other sushi restaurants in Rockwall for the quality of sushi. The sales receipt does not show itemized menu items. The edamame was the best thing ordered. All items came to the table in styrofoam clam shells and styrofoam cups. Very wasteful and not good for the environment. My teenagers said for the price this yelp should have 3 $'s. read more
