You won my vote. I use to work for a 5 star sushi restaurant near the W Hotel. Considering this is a Sushi To Go type of place, I thought it was great for being in Rowlett. Order Miso soup which was great - Taste very green with lots of seaweed. I taste the soy in the broth which gave it full flavor. I ordered a Crybaby - This was definitely spicy consider I ate ghost pepper before. Borderline Serrano and Jalapeno. I like the concept of siracha in place and still manage to have sweet and spicy flavor. I think the rice on the sushi roll is a little soft and need to be more dry, but this will always be a hit or miss in my opinion or just plain horrible. read more

Used to love coming here but the change in staff makes me want to stop. The cashier basically made fun of me for asking for soy sauce and used foul language when talking with me. It's always been my favorite sushi place but may find somewhere else if they think that kind of customer service is acceptable. read more

Just ok, the rolls didn't hv enough protein within, but taste wise pretty good. Crunch roll and Cry baby were the favorite out of the variety of 6 rolls and we didn't realize that they forgot our edamame until we got all the way back home. The eel on the Elvis roll was lacking in the eel taste. Long story short, we've made better at home but when ur in a hurry, it's ok, but just ok. Considering that they've been around for 5 yrs, I expected more, might try again....maybe. read more

Very friendly staff but there was a 30 minute wait for my food --which wasn't communicated to me until after I paid. The menu doesn't mention the wasabi sauce on the Red River roll and I specifically asked for no wasabi. In addition to that, all three rolls we ordered were gross. I've had much better sushi. Yuck. Place is a little pricey so I will say I had slightly higher expectations. But I literally spit the sushi out. We had ordered nearly $65 worth of sushi because I love sushi, but it was awful.they used short cuts and sushi isn't something you should be taking short cuts with. Clearly the raw fish had been frozen, the artificial crab was not high quality, the rice was medium grain and the avocado was past its prime. I've been here once before and honestly enjoyed the food and price point, but after waiting 2 hours for our food along with a bit of disservice, I had to give in and reclaim my money. Allow me to explain. My girlfriend and I called in at 6:36 pm on a Friday night to order out a simple 3 roll meal. The waiter told us our food would be ready in 30 minutes, so we showed up promptly on time. There was roughly 6 other groups waiting to pick up their food, one sushi chef working, and two cashiers(?). No big deal, we might have to wait a bit. The customers were all mulling over their hunger, most silently looking at their phones. After waiting about 45 minutes there, I kindly asked for a time estimate -- many of the same customers I saw when we arrived were still waiting for their food. The chef announced he was working on a woman's order for 11 rolls and that the orders following would be quickly made. He even cracked a joke that we should try coming in on a Thursday when they had less business. The cashier suggested the wait time would be 15 more minutes until our order was complete. Thus, my girlfriend and I decided to take a peak next door at the pet shop to distract our hunger and came back shortly after and continued to wait. What tipped me over is when another customer asked for a time estimate on his order and impatiently stood by the chef's counter. The customer announced he had made the order an hour ago over the phone, and, in turn, the chef immediately finished his rolls. And here are the few of us, who had been waiting at the restaurant for our food for more than 1.5 hours. Talk about neglect. IN FRONT OF YOUR OTHER CUSTOMERS. This is unacceptable. It's 8:32 pm. I immediately got up and asked for a refund after the cashier checked out that customer. It's this simple. How can you disregard your other customers' requests in lieu granting another one's wishes? Clearly you didn't prioritize by order number, a huge turn off. The cashier even said "I understand", as young and naive as he is, while sliding the return receipt over to me. LOL. Not an apology. Just a statement. Or was it a compassionate statement? Words of advice: A) Respect the order number (especially when customers are giving the stanky eye to new arrivals) B) Hire a second chef for peak times. Its Friday night in the suburbs and people want sushi. C) Provide some waters or refreshments/water for your waiting customers? This is a service -- there is a tip line. read more

Good sushi for rowlett but the place is a dump- I would only eat here if you plan on taking it to go. My boyfriend and I thought we'd get sushi over the weekend and we dined in. Not only was there rap music blaring but the place was a mess. The owner needs to invest in redecorating and CLEANING! The bathroom was so disgusting I held it just so I didn't have to go. Finally!!! A place where I can get delicious sushi rolls besides Tom Thumb and Kroger. I'm so happy to have found this place. My sister-in-law and I ordered the Crunch Roll and Hot Mama and fell in love with both. Surprised it took only 5 minutes or so to make but man, oh man was that good!
