Very disappointed. Had a craving for good sushi and read the reviews and decided to try it out. Crab is imitation, shrimp was cut up into small pieces that you could bearly see, asked for extra shrimp and craw fish and did not get it. Everything I ordered was to be spicy and it was far from it. This place is awesome. Soon as I stepped in I was greeted. The guy helped me figure out something that I would like. I just started eating sushi about a year ago and not sure what to try sometimes. Our sushi was okay but when I saw the charge on my bank statement it was $10 more than what it should have been. I called back and asked which the extra charge was and they charged us $6 extra plus tax for spicy mayo and eel sauce on the side! They never even mentioned it. When I called today I first was hung up on and then called back again and told "just call back in 10 minutes" and hung up on again. I guess they were busy when they opened but still. I ordered and my husband picked it up so he just assumed it was for the sushi. The manager said "Sorry I wasn't here so maybe you can call back later and speak with the owner." I'd rather just warn others to check your tab and don't get crazy overcharged for sauce. read more

This restaurant leaves much to be desired as far as the decor goes but I guess I can over look that since the whole concept is to pick stuff up to go or delivery. I got two rolls the cry baby and the shrimp lovers and I was stuffed to the gills by the time I was done. The shrimp lovers roll is huge and I don't think anything needs to be improved as far as the the quality. The cry baby roll was also very good but the sauce on top of the roll was so spicy that I eventually tried to wipe off as much as I could so I could actually enjoy it, however, my lips were still tingling by the time I finished and I am someone who LOVES and has a high tolerance for spicy food. My advice and what I would do next time is to get the sauce on the side and add it to my liking. I would not hesitate to visit here again for my next sushi craving. read more

My son and I stopped in on Monday. I went with the 2 types of rolls I get at all Sushi restaurants when I go for the first time. California Rolls Regular and Spicy....and The Rainbow Roll! Both were amazing. Some of the best I have ever had. Now I want to go try the Ahi Tower and the Salmon Salad pictured above. My first experience was an unpleasant one. I walked in, the chef looked at me and continued to make rolls. This was fine, I took my time looking at the menu. Finally I had decided what I wanted to order, the chef continued to make rolls. I said I was ready, he just looked at me and continued what he was doing. Maybe he doesn't take the orders? Any verbal response would have been better than what I go. I had to walk out because I couldn't get any service. The next time I knew better and ordered carry out. It was an easy process to pick up. No issues at all! The order arrived only 20 min later which was nice. And our order was delivered correctly. However, I was a bit disappointed in the food. In the small amount of time Sushi Go has been open here in Rowlett, we have become HUGE fans. We have been there at least three times, both eating in and take-out (the latter after calling in an order and also after just walking in, ordering, and walking out with delicious sushi fairly quickly made). Wonderfully fresh-tasting, creative and traditional rolls. Delicious nigiri. They even comp'ed us an order of plain sushi rice for our seven year old picky eater to thank us for waiting for one take-out order for what felt to us like no time at all! When we ate in there for our anniversary this month (we look forward to their increasing the number of dinging tables, but it was just the two of us), the chef even enhanced the presentation of our wonderfully priced rolls by spelling out an anniversary message with our sauces! Most of the rolls that I've tried we're good. However when you go into a restaurant that smells like nothing but cigarette smoke, that's a total turn off. This place was worth coming 2 to 3 times a month when it first opened but I will never return. It's already hard enough to trust a local sushi shop. When you have to worry about fresh and sanitary food, that's probably a sign you shouldn't eat there. read more

If we could give them 0 stars we would! WE have been here almost once a week since it has opened it's ok sushi (As for Rowlett Sushi places go) However the last 2 times the orders have been wrong. This time 01/12/19 it was SO beyond wrong I had to drive back up to get it fixed....the guy behind the counter was SUPER SUPER RUDE and the person making the Sushi rolled his eyes at me and seemed beyond irritated and pissed he had to make it. Then my daughter set the bag with the returned Sushi on the counter and slide it to him, he has a smarta** comment saying don't throw it...then proceed to mouth under his breath. WE also subbed the spicy tuna for more crab meat(like was is served in a California roll) and we got the same amount of crab or less in our opinion. If you are expecting "decect" customer service KEEP DRIVING and get TO GO Sushi at Kyotos. Just make sure to check your order BEFORE you leave and if something is incorrect then correct it then or you will get the same treatment we just received.As we were waiting a to-go order came in then they proceeded to make their order before correcting our order. read more

The food looks good and smells great, but the take home containers are all made from polystyrene, a troublesome food container material that many places have simply banned. Yikes!!! Why with much safer alternatives Sushi Go chooses to use styrene is beyond me. I might go back if they change their containers. read more

Overall the food is good and we usually enjoy the food. However, the service is much worse than it used to be. I called tonight for a delivery and was told it would take an hour. I was surprised as sushi should be quick to make but I didn't fight it. An hour later I called and the person who answered was short with me but assured me that it was on its way. I called back 20 minutes later and was told he had already told me the delivery driver was on his way and this was my second time to call. First, I will call every 30 seconds if I please. Second, the correct response is we will check in on the delivery person. The delivery person called and said he was here. Turns out he was at the wrong address. He then got lost on his way to the correct address. I finally told him I was standing on the street and literally watched him drive past me twice. I have no idea what has changed but the service is a lot worse than it has been in the past. I hope they figure it out but from reading the other reviews I doubt it. read more
