I'm giving 4 stars because the service was really good. I sat at the bar and while the waiter never introduced himself he was very attentive even tho he had a large party to assist. I think the owner came shortly after they opened and she jumped right in helping serve and greeting customers. Hands down the gyoza was the best thing I had. I probably could've gotten several orders of that and been extremely satisfied with my visit. The ramen broth was very good. It wasn't thick like others commented. It was light and had just the right amount of heat for me. That's where it ended. The noodles had way more bite than I've ever had with any other ramen and the port belly while tender was more fat than anything. I thought the saketini said it was made with fresh fruit. I didn't see it being made but the only thing that tasted fresh was the fruit garnish. The restaurant was packed and there was a line to get in before they opened. I love good ramen & it doesn't get much better than Ramen Head, to me. Yes, Ten ramen, Oni, Ichigoh, Jenya, in Dallas are all good, but this is a distinct notch higher. Seriously rich & flavorful broth. All of their ramen is great. Nice selection of appetizers & sake. Best service, friendly & prompt. Wait staff knowledgeable with good recommendations. This place has an all around amazing menu and it's a must try restaurant in rockwall. For appetizers we tried the crispy pork boa buns (loved these!), gyoza (fried dumplings, good but we will venture out next time and try something new). Entres we got the Miso Not mild. This ramen was so full of flavor and the pork belly is so tasty. It was not spicy to me, and the owner brought me more chili sauce to add into my bowl. We also tried the fried apple egg rolls. These were served fresh and piping hot. Served with drizzles of chocolate and caramel, and homemade whipped cream. We will be absolutely be returning to this restaurant. Very confusing , website says reservations for 6 or more only , so we show up 5 minutes after opening and are told 45 minute wait , or make a reservation . There is always some form of barrier with this establishment. In order to carry out (orders to-go,) they require the use of the Door Dash website. Well due the website freezing, I called directly to place my order. They refused to take any orders over the phone. I explained that the door-dash site was freezing and they confirmed that a few other customers mentioned that, but remarked "Oh well, we won't take any orders over the phone." I guess the need for business and the need to satisfy customers is non-existent at this location. Previous take-out orders have taken well over 30-40 minutes past the promised completion time. That may not mean much to some, but trying to order food during an allotted lunch timeframe depends heavily on the restaurant's ability to deliver the order as stated/promised. After attempting a few times to try this place and always hearing they are out of ramen or broth we were finally able to get in and give it a try. The atmosphere was very nice, servers were very attentive. There was a 30min wait for a party of 3 but that isn't too bad for a Saturday night. Side note, that night they were out of rice so half of the menu was not available. I guess we were lucky it wasn't the ramen again? The drinks were really good! The pancakes were ok, I would probably not re-order those as we've had better elsewhere. The ramen was surprisingly good! We were apprehensive seeing how the appetizers were but the ramen was very flavorful, the broth was thick and not watered down. I had very high expectations. It was an average experience. The to go orders must be done online( kind of a pain) Then the wait is longer that expected for a to go... about an hour on a Thursday. The staff wasn't wearing masks, neither were the people inside waiting for to go orders(2).... concerning. The Raman was good, the pork and bun was better. The roasted corn on the cob wasn't a favorite because it just had too much stuff on not enough corn. I asked for two cups of ice to go and was given small coffee cups.(odd) the hostess seemed new and the people organizing the orders outside The kitchen seemed irritated. Was trying this spot for the 2nd time. First time was about a year ago, wasn't anything delicious but since we are moving closer to the area we wanted to try again and hope it was a bit better. Came on 10/10/24 at dinner time. Ordered 2 bowls of ramen, a beer, and an order to-go. You know how you can kind of tell when someone does not want to be at their job? That's how our waitress made it seem. No emotion or anything when taking our order. Food came in a timely manner and was alright. Not the best tasting ramen but not horrible. Finished our meal and was brought the check and we asked for our Togo order. The waitress just stands there, looks at the receipt and says "oh!" And walks away. Assuming it was forgotten about, I decided whenever she came back, unless it was going to be ready soon I would just cancel the order. 10 minutes later our waitress comes back and says "so something got messed up and we think your food was given to someone else..." From the easy to use ordering system, to the pickup and then the amazing food and service I cannot say enough good things about Ramen Head. I had been dying to try it and was not disappointed! I had the spicy black garlic ramen (medium spice) , my daughter had the Signature tonkatsu (mild) and we shared the deviled eggs (which were heavenly) I have had ramen from all over, and this-honestly is the best I have ever tasted. The broth is so rich and the flavor is perfection! While picking up I noticed the beautiful wall murals and cannot wait to actually dine in for the full experience. We will be back again, and again. This is my new go-to self care indulgence and I am obsessed! So I finally got to try the new Ramen Head in downtown Rockwall! I knew this place was popping when there was 5 people waiting for a seat, outside, at 1pm on a Thursday. lol Inside there was a host stand, it's hard to even remember this place was a women's boutique just a few months ago. The space is totally transformed, cool hand painted murals, stained floors, Edison bulbs etc. Modern dance music playing kept a casual, fun and energetic vibe to the place. There was a 15 minute wait, but ended up getting sat at the bar pretty quickly. I was surprised that they didn't have iced tea as an options, though they did have plenty of sodas including imported Japanese sodas, which seemed fun, but I just went with water to play safe. I'm not a ramen expert by any means, for me ramen was a simple cheap food I lived on back in college, but if you're expecting cheap ramen you're in the wrong place. The top menu item is a $18.00, which is 81 times the 0.22c cost of a serving of the ramen you're thinking of. This ain't that. This is real, serious, passionate, Japanese ramen. The ramen comes in several variants, and ranges from $10 to $18 a bowl. The "heat level" is required when ordering, mild, medium or "face melting". I went with medium and found the heat to be perfect, but my friend got "mild" and was surprised at the heat levels. I suppose that depends on personal preferences. We tried both the Deviled Eggs and the Gyoza, and both were awesome. Rich, flavorful, hot. Bold flavors. Very fun. I could come here and just eat appetizers. The ramen took a minute to come out, and was way larger than I anticipated. I got the $12 "Tonkotsu Ramen Light" ($12) and immediately realized I was in a new dimension of ramen. This massive bowl could probably be split, was full of stuff like pork, eggs, onions and more. The "broth" (soup) was really flavorful, rich, filling. Perfect for a winter day. The noodles were never ending, it seemed. I struggled to handle them properly with the nice polished chop sticks provided. They do offer forks, for quitters. lol Service was great, atmosphere was fun, and I'm excited to have a new, different eatery to choose from in Rockwall. I think it adds some culture to a pretty "quiet" area, and will be welcomed by locals. I had to step out of my comfort zone a little to eat here, but I leave with no regrets. Moved out here recently and was disappointed with the lack of ramen in the area, so I was super excited for Ramen Head! Went in a few days ago, waited over an hour despite multiple open tables and then when I was sat they were out of the Ramen I wanted. I was clearly upset but I did not to make a scene and the hostess and server said "sorry" and that was that. The plan was to come back and try again when they were less busy and had the broth BUT after reading the manager responses to yelp reviews from guests expressing genuine customer concerns and experiences, like mine, I am shocked. I quote the owner response from Ramen Head on one of the poor reviews: "I will never understand a bad review given when we are not even given a chance to know about it or allowed to try and fix it." Let me stop you there RH management, yelp is your chance to fix it among other things. The rest of the manager responses to poor reviews are littered with excuses and they tend to put blame back on the guest. Which goes to show how the Ramen Head Team views guests. The complaints are consistent in content on your yelp page, "long waits" "out of food"..... so fix it, don't punish people for bringing it to your attention on yelp as opposed to in the restaurant, constructive criticism is part of customer service and should be taken with a little more grace. Perhaps be nicer to people that have already spent their hard earned money at your establishment. ALSO keep in mind a bad yelp review can be CHANGED by the person who posed it. A 1 star review can be potentially changed to a 5 star review, it starts with taking ownership of the issue and inviting the guest back and showing them some hospitality. Y'all... Please read, don't waste your time. Try Ten Wabi or Oni Ramen for the real deal, it was palatable but will definitely not wow you. And that's just the truth. And based on their response to my hubbys review, they are not kid friendly, will attempt to shame your babies for being babies and leaving a mess. I'd been begging my husband to try it out as I'd love a ramen spot locally. It's a whole in the wall, so although We arrived at approx 615ish on a Wednesday, We were seated well after 7. after taking forever to acknowledge us after being seated, (sign #1) our server who was nice, as were we, approached us, explaining immediately that we could not Order at least 3 or 4 items (rice bowls, bao buns etc) basic stuff :/.. we had been waiting for nearly an hour so we knew exactly what we wanted and placed our order all at once!! We ordered an order of deviled eggs and gyoza dumplings 2 traditional bowls, and attempted to order a kids meal for my 3 year old and 10 mo old to share. We were immediately told we can't do the kids meal, bc there's no rice..RICE YALL. We ask to order 2 sides of noodles Instead and were told NO, his manager told him that they could not sell "extra" noodles, although it's on the menu. We asked could it be considered, to feed to our sons,who were paying guest too, as the kids meal was not available. Our nice waiter comes back to let us know he was able to get approval to sell us 2 bowls of noodles for our kids bc the owner would get more noodles to sell and puts in our ONE order. Mind you we put in an order for Everything at once, not an app then our dinner bc we don't have that type of time. He later swings back around and stated "I took the eggs off your ticket, bc we are out of filling" and keeps it moving. Does not ask if we want anything instead or "sorry". My husband thinks this a bad sign and says let's just leave but noooooo I want to get them a chance. Waiter brings out the 5 dumplings, which the FOUR of us "devour". Do the math :/ My 4 year old, fresh from swim lessons is Starving!!! So we wait, and wait... my husband says maybe this was a bad idea to wait bc the kids are tired and hungry, let's just pay for our dumplings and grab something otw home. My husband was not ALL rude or mean, he simply asked the owner could we cancel the order and just pay for what we ate. SHE clearly GETS OFFENDED, goes to the waiter and then the kitchen and is the rude one who comes us to us to say, it's only been 15 mins since your dumplings were brought out. Like why are we upset. My husband then goes to say we ordered all the food together as in we wanted it all to come out together. (Mind you this not even the reason we wanted to cancel our order, it was due to us to wanting to get our kids home, but clearly customer service wasn't her priority because she just came over firing off her defensiveness and excuses) This really grinded her gears and you could tell her body language and face she didn't want us there!! She tells my husband "we don't do that here, we only make the orders after the app has been brought out". We could care less, we just wanted to leave but the vibes that were given. We say it's okay if the food isn't coming right now we would just like to leave as it is now 8 o'clock. Okay we finally got our food, ate and left. My Four did "devour" is plain noodles but please don't be flattered he was hungry!! Located in downtown Rockwall the restaurant was conveniently placed. Food came out quick and was hot and yummy. I really enjoyed it along with my husband. My ramen was wholesome and warm and honestly for a rainy night we were so happy to have this as our stop. I recommend putting your name on the wait list before arriving, it cut down our wait time. Gyoza were good, shrimp bao bun was a waste of money. One shrimp in each with an empty shell of a shrimp & it was very bland. I thought, honest mistake, they thought there was a piece of shrimp in the breading. Then we ordered a shrimp bowl & the same thing happened. 5 actual tiny shrimp in the bowl and a ton of empty breading. The rice had great flavor, but we were disappointed that we paid that much for rice and a few itty bitty shrimp. My first visit here was several months back, and I was pretty sorely unimpressed for reasons I'll go into later. I was going to write a review but refrained because I didn't want to get cyberbullied in the comments by the manager (I'm kidding, but c'mon now). But, I gave it a few months and decided to try it again -- who knows, maybe I came in on an off day or something -- so here's my review. On my first visit, I ordered the miso hot ramen. Like many older reviews stated, when I got my bowl the portion was small. The corn and veggies on top were more like a sprinkled on garnish than part of the dish, and the pork belly (while delicious) was teeny tiny. The most disappointing part of the bowl was the broth though -- all salt. No richness or depth you'd expect if you've had good miso ramen before. Although I'd even clarified with the server I'd ordered the "miso HOT" bowl, the heat was undetectable. My server offered to bring an extra dish of chili paste to me, and I used literally all of it. But, after my second visit, I'm still gonna give it 4 stars. First and foremost because the servers/staff here are incredible. Fast, professional, kind and attentive. They get 5 stars every time. It does appear that this place has listened to the criticisms of previous customers and made some changes. On this visit, the portion size was considerably more substantial - noodles, meat, and veggies. Again, I ordered the Miso Hot Ramen, and it was noticeably spicier than the first time I got it months back. Granted, it's "rockwall mom" spicy and not "ramen" spicy, but I mean - know your audience, right? My server again kindly brought extra spice for me and all was well. I'm an avid ramen eater and was extremely excited that a ramen spot was opening so close too home. Great atmosphere on a early Friday evening with an eclectic hip vibe! Good music and the service was top notched; even providing a lavender infused towel to wipe your hands prior to your meal. I appreciate little authentic touches like that. I ordered the Tonkasu ramen which I really enjoyed! The pork belly was well-prepared and flavored superbly. The broth was good and the pork definitely helped to add dimension to the flavors. They may want to consider adding other flavors such as kimchi, mushrooms to add other flavor notes but this won't stop me from recommending. Going with 4 stars, Ramen Head only has a month in operation. The owner had Reign clothing boutique in this location previously, but now is pulling together a noodle house. This is on the old courthouse square in Rockwall, TX where many eateries have evolved from refurbished older buildings. I read about "vegan" and "gluten-free" at Ramen Head, so I picked a cold, rainy day to visit for a hot bowl of ramen. Clean & orderly interior, with nice mural art on the walls depicting origami. At the front entrance are mini Zen gardens, and origami displayed. Nice touch. The young staff was pleasant & helpful, knew the menu well. Music was popping a bit strong, when you are surrounded by zen gardens & origami. Not a big deal, I like all types of instrumental songs. I chose Vegan Rice Bowl, and a Vegan Ramen bowl, gluten-free, and medium spice level. With all the carbs in the 2 bowls in front of me, I hunted down the mushrooms and tofu first. They shave kernals off ears of corn to top off these bowls, a bit much food starch for me. Broth was decent, though the mushrooms had lost their identy in there. Noodles were good. So, I'm not against these guys at all, they have everything they need here for success. It seems that "pork belly" is the dominant ingredient here, when a pure vegetable broth would make a lot of diners happy. I asked for the custard dessert, but they were out at the moment.... which gave me excuse to visit "unrefined bakery" in Rockwall for their keto carrot cake cupcakes. So this afternoon me and my family went here. My family was turned away at the door by the hostess during the dinner dining hours. The reason I was given is that I could not bring in my 3yr old sons food. He has a peanut allergy. I found out later from the restaurant per a post i made online that the restaurant was apparently 100 percent nut free restaurant. If the hostess had informed me of this instead of being rude and smug, my visit to this restaurant would have been a more positive one. They started off negatively. We ordered online right after they opened at 5:30pm. Gave an estimate of 45 minutes for 3 ramen meals and 2 appetizers. There wasn't much going on around there on Wednesday evening. After 45 minutes we went inside since even though we didn't get a text telling us the order was ready. There were only 3 patrons in the restaurant and we hadn't seen but a couple people come out with to go orders. They asked if we got a text. When told we did not they reminded us that we are supposed to wait until we are texted. We told them it had been 45 minutes and remarked about only a few people inside. She said she would check and proceeded to pack our order. As far as the food? My son and his wife really like Ramen Head and enjoyed there's. I myself was underwhelmed and certainly won't be asking to go back. Spice levels are odd. None, mild, medium, face melting, and you're dead. Medium to face melting is an odd jump. I like heat but with flavor. I went for face melting and it definitely wasn't. I don't think it would be considered hot on most restaurant scales. I got the black garlic due to other positive reviews. Meh. I wouldn't order it again. The ramen bowls I get at Costco have better flavor. Our gyoza appetizer was very good. However, not sure why you can't substitute another broth like veggie or chicken broth on a ramen bowl. No, I don't want "earth noodles" with the veggie ramen, nor am I vegetarian, just simply don't eat pork and would rather have a different broth on a regular ramen order. We did sign up on the waitlist when we left the house and waited about 10-15 minutes at the restaurant to be seated. Always check their Instagram to see if they're open or not. I've been to a lot of ramen shops in a lot of countries. Ramen head does a really great job. Flavors are pretty spot on authentic. Love the Texas flare with the brisket they have as a special sometimes. They're doing the basics very well. And i dont use basics lightly. Doing the basics PERFECTLY every single time, is pretty much the core of Japanese Ramen culture. Black garlic ramen is by far the go to. Their spice level isn't determined by simply adding dry chili pepper to their ramen, its a blended flavor bomb of spice and seasonings. Ask for some on the side. Dont reach for your man card on this one though, Ramen isn't really supposed to be spicy. All things in balance. Things that Ramen head should consider improving on however. The music turned up to 11. I understand making it fun, and i TOTALLY get what vibe they are trying to make in the shop. But the music volume (and the choice of music) is very anti ramen shop. I was seated next to the bar and asked them if they didn't mind turning the music down. I was instead re-seated. The place is small, there's no where in there that will escape the noise volume. Keep the music just please turn it down a bit. My waitress was elevated in tone when taking my order and i had to talk over the music the entire time with the company i was with. It almost makes me not want to visit unless im solo. The appetizers had far too much sauce. Gyoza was hard to eat with all the sauce, i couldn't really enjoy the authenticity of them. When leaving I politely said that there is a mask mandate and the owner of the restaurant starting yelling at me asking why I care, and told me to "take my f**king 12 year old self elsewhere." I showed him the state of Texas website outlining that unless actively eating or drinking, a mask is required. As a chemist studying coronavirus, I am absolutely disgusted by the carelessness for fellow community members and shocked by the behavior of the management at this establishment. I will be reporting this to the health department. EDIT: Just look at the response from the owner, they didn't apologize and defend putting their customers in danger. This place is pretty good but not like make me want to come back here good. The staff was very nice and polite but idk about the noodles they served me for ramen it just kinda tasted like egg noodles. Definitely not like something i'm used to eating at like other traditional ramen restaurants. I do prefer Ten or Ramen Hakata over this and it was a 30 minute drive and not sure it was worth that. I've also eaten ramen in Ukraine and that was way better than this place. I'm just really dissappointed overall. read more

I am a ramen connoisseur and this place has fantastic ramen. Most of the time I have the packet ramen but this ramen is extremely good. Service was extremely fast maybe faster than some fast food restaurants. Pictures on the wall were a nice add in while eating your ramen. I had the Not Miso face melting and it was amazing. LOVE their ramen and will definitely continue to order from here - 5 stars for the ramen! - however - I prefer to pay cash, the only way to do this for a to-go order is to call the restaurant. I continually am made to feel like a nuisance and inconvenience for ordering this way. I get put on hold every time, told they really prefer online orders, the wait will be longer over the phone (what?), and am I SURE I want to order this way. When I arrive to pay, I get sneers and "oh you're paying cash... so you didn't pay online?" This mindset baffles me, I'm a paying customer. And who doesn't take orders over the phone?! Again, food is amazing, and I will continue to order and eat here. I just don't like being treated like I'm a problem because I prefer to pay cash. read more

Okay, first off let me explain that the ingredients were high quality and the service was outstanding. Prices are average for quality ramen. Why three stars then? We lived in Japan, and we travel A LOT since then and try ramen where ever we go. There are awesome ramen places all over the US now. We love ramen, but traditional style. Miso, Tonkotsu, Shio, Shoyu, etc. Ramen Head ramen is definitely not a traditional style ramen shop. This is a modern take on ramen and it didn't work for us. The broth is very thick and the chashu was, well, wet. No crusty goodness on the outside just fatty pork that didn't add much flavor. We had the gyoza, which was very good with a caveat mentioned below, and the Miso Hot, and the Black Garlic ramen. The description of the Black Garlic Ramen was charred, nutty, and earthiness. It did not say that all you would taste was nutty, earthiness. Think garlic, pecans with the shells, dirt and water in a blender with a bowl with very good noodles and very wet chashu. The spicy miso was spicy, but that was really the only flavor and again the broth was thick and not refreshing at all. The gyoza was quite good though it was deep fried rather than steamed or pan fried as are the traditional methods. It was very lightly deep fried so I won't hold that against them. Again the quality of the ingredients was high, but the style was all wrong for our liking. The story about their son is heartbreaking but inspiring. We didn't hesitate to donate a bowl of ramen in his name to any in the community that are having a hard time. I hope you guys do well. read more

Let's start with the setting. Beautiful murals painted on the wall. Funny, eye-catching shirts. "Send noods" And a beautiful ae en garden display in the hostess section. Very low-key, and laid back with amazing cuisine. Their menu items have delicious high quality ingredients, and we're so flavorful! My only qualm was that medium wasn't spicy enough, next time I'll go for their "melt your face" level. The medium tasted like crystals or Tabasco hot sauce added in. read more
