Oni is a pretty good ramen spot. Their ramen has rich broths with an American fusion flair (like their Texas mazemen). Sometimes, I share the ramen with my bf because it's a lot for me. The shop is pretty much self service, you order at the kiosk once you enter, and then pick up the order when your number is called along with your own water and utensils. It's a casual environment and I enjoy it. If you want full service the bar can take care of that for you! Price wise, it's on par with a lot of ramen shop and can get price with your extra toppings. Still, a good ramen spot!

Let's start with how good the music was in this Ramen spot! When I came here I was super excited to try it because I been passing by it and hearing how good it was. My expectations were kinda high. When we placed our order it was quick and simple to do on the pad you place your order on. With that being said I would give my food a 6/10. Meat in the Ramen was flavorful and delicious but the broth was just okay. I feel like it could have been better and how they boiled my eggs seemed a little off.

First time trying this location. It was easy to find and easy to park. I picked this location because the other location from what I can remember is a hassle to park and I wasnt willing to fool around outside finding parking during this trip. Once inside you are greeted by the kiosk to place your order. The bar is full service. I knew what I wanted to order but it still took me a few minutes to place the order on the kiosk because I had to make sure it was correct since there are no refunds. We got the Tokyo Black and the Kyushu Tonkotsu add Naruto. The Tokyo Black had a yummy ancho chili sauce on top of the pork belly. The sauce was so good but it was ruined by the fatty pork belly. This piece was 90% fat and I had to spit it out. I hate that the sauce was wasted. The broth was piping hot and good. All of the veggies complimented the soup well. The Kyushu Tonkotsu was delicious. My niece likes fish cakes so we had to add it to her bowl. I loved the black garlic oil that was added. It's so rich and adds a real umami flavor to the soup. All in all I continue to like hipster ramen. This location does a good job in upholding the brand. Everything was pretty consistent with my first visit at the other location. Its laid back, self-service restaurant. We thought everything was delicious. Black ramen and the rich tonkotsu was rich, creamy and flavorful. My only complaint is the chairs are not comfy.

This spot completely changed my mind. I keep finding myself ordering the Texas Mazemen, which is brothless ramen, and I love it. It's hearty, flavorful, and I actually enjoy working my way through all the ingredients without the mess of a traditional broth. The teriyaki boba shredded pork belly is packed with flavor, and the combination of noodles, meat, and fresh toppings makes every bite feel perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is also a huge plus--modern, welcoming, and a little trendy without being over the top. Pricing is very fair for the quality and portion sizes, and I always leave full and satisfied. Everything I've tried here has been consistent, and the overall experience keeps me wanting to come back. And the service is quick. Even though I tell myself I'll try something new from the menu, this dish has me hooked. It's become one of my favorite go-to places, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a spot with great food, great vibes, and great value.

Its just okay, the broth itself was really bland. It LOOKS like a good bowl but the taste is off. It needs more salt, and richness. I feel like I have more packaged ramen that was better.

This is the best ramen I've had in DFW. I added fried garlic and lime. 10/10. It's a really laid back spot and the service was fast. The ambiance is much better at night. I would definitely go again.

I really liked the Ramen. The tablet didn't let me switch to udon noodles but that may also not be an option. The food was bomb. When they say spicy it is no joke. They have a disclaimer on their spice level, justifiably. Went with work friends and the speed at which my food came out was amazing. Really glad it was in walking distance to where we were all staying.

Chefs kiss! Best ramen ever.. or best ramen of the year.. I can't decide. You pay for your ramen first at the kiosk and decide on toppings, broth and noodles. Everything was good! The broth and the chicken. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend.

I lived in Richardson for a year, and this was my go-to spot. I still visit whenever I'm in town. I love their Tokyo Black since it has a watery consistency (just how I like it) and is packed with flavor. They offer plenty of other options, but I've never felt the need to try anything else. Tokyo Black is my comfort bowl. You can customize the meat and toppings to your liking. You can also get the spice on side if you prefer to control the spice. They use a self-order system: place your order, wait for your ticket number to be called, pick up your bowl from the counter, grab a seat, and enjoy your ramen. Ta-da! They have street parking or garage parking. Dallas never disappoints when it comes to parking.

Super delicious ramen with flavor packed broth and excellent toppings! This location has a self service walk up but it's pretty straightforward and quick. I order the Oni ramen with fire spice and I should've took one to-go! It was THAT good. The decor is pretty cool with murals around the wall. This was my first time visiting and definitely won't be my last!

Best chasu in town! Thick and caramelized. Rich broth, noodles are bouncy, & I love all the different spice options. This spot is self service so don't expect a server coming to your table but the food is good. Order at the kiosk, pick up your meal and pick your table. Ambiance is nice, spacious and clean.

Interestingly there weren't many places open in CityLine on a Sunday evening, but Oni Ramen topped the list because of the chilly weather. I strolled into the restaurant around 6:15pm. It was a casual but modern looking establishment, and they even had a full bar. There were kiosks at the entrance where I was able to customize every ingredient of my order. I started off with choosing the base and then I could add to and/or remove from what's included. Because you do order through the kiosk, interaction with staff members was minimal. I believe I got my ramen sometime prior to 10 minutes, which wasn't bad for a wait. I will say that they did forget that I ordered an unsweetened green tea with my order, so I had to go back to them for it. I appreciated that Oni Ramen had vegetarian and chicken broth options since I don't eat pork. This means pork-based broth as well. When everything was all said and done, I had put together a $21.50 bowl of ramen that consisted of vegetarian broth ($ extra for making it mild), a soft boiled egg ($ extra), chicken thigh ($ extra), tofu ($ extra), mushrooms (free), toasted sesame (free), leafy greens (free but I ordered extra), and vegan/gluten-free noodles ($ extra). I felt like my meal hit the spot. I wanted something warm and comforting. That being said, I've had better ramen elsewhere. When I received the ramen, the chili oil was more on one side so I got the try the broth before infusing it entirely in the oil. If it wasn't for the chili oil, the broth would've been pretty bland. I ordered extra leafy greens and was expecting an abundance of it, but I was bummed to find that this really translated to 4 total pieces of bok choy leaves. They gave me a handful of nori, which was a fine consolation. The noodles reminded me of vermicelli, so I believe they're some type of rice noodles. The proteins were prepared well. The chicken thigh was very tender and had a soy sauce marinade. The soft boiled egg had the perfect runny yolk. Loved that they used firm tofu and didn't skimp on it.

The stars were aligned correctly and I was able to come to the Richardson location right when it opened. As someone that's a huge fan of Izakaya's - Mr Max did leave a little bit to be desired. Food quality was great, don't get me wrong - however I feel like for the cost, the portions are a little bit on the small side. The menu is also a little limited - this location has been open a while already so I assume they aren't going to expand the menu beyond whatever is already on there. I guess I've just been spoiled with other Izakaya's having pages upon pages of things to choose from. The dining area is quite nice, though I heard the og Irving location has tatami style seating - which this one does not. Not a deal breaker for me. Staff was nice and restaurant was clean, just wish their portion sizes were at least a little more "Texas" sized for the price. Other diners I went with said the noodles are better at the Irving location but I can't speak to that as I've never been there. All in all still a nice dining experience.

We like to do shareable small plates style, even for the "bigger" entrees like ramen and the house curry, and we're always stuffed at the end of our meal. Service is pretty good and personally I love that this location is much closer to where we live and usually also much less busy than the OG location; better for us to walk in whenever we want :) Can't wait to return soon!

The restaurant wasn't busy at the time, so it was no big deal, but worth noting. The service was actually the highlight of the night, and earned this review one additional star simply because of the effort involved. Else it would be a 3 star review. There was only one server running the entire front of house while the restaurant got progressively busier, and only two chefs in the kitchen. Despite being swamped, the server worked her tail off. She didn't mess up a single order for our large group and kept things moving. I greatly appreciated her hard work. Appetizers (5/5): The wait for food was noticeable due to the staffing, but the appetizers were worth it. We ordered the Edamame, Yatai Gyoza, Agedashi Tofu, and Takoyaki, and all of them were delicious. Entrees (3/5): Unfortunately, the main courses were a bit basic compared to the starters. The Tonkotsu Ramen was strictly average; I've definitely had better broth and noodles elsewhere. If you are looking for the top-tier quality izakaya, Mr. Max Izakaya in Irving is hands down better option. However, you have to wait an hour for a table there.

Egg rolls and dumplings: Both were a tad overcooked and their skins were just a little too dry and crunchy. They should've been taken out of the fryer about 30 seconds earlier. The fillings were delicious and they were served with dipping sauces. Orange Chicken Bowl: Presentation was nice with fresh boiled broccoli in a large bowl. Both said it was good. J said "It was pretty good best I've had in a while. It wasn't too sweet and had good flavor." I tried some and I agreed. It was overly battered like some places like to make it and the taste on it was delicious. Not overly sweet and was even a little tart. Yom Yom Yom. It was a large portion, but J finished the entire bowl. Jerry and the rest of us had enough for another meal. Chicken fried rice: I didn't get to taste, but it looked good. Katie like everything about it except the way the chicken was cooked. Note that Katie is very particular about her the way she wants her chicken cooked. Also a large portion. Pad Thai: Noodles, shredded carrots, green onions tossed in a wok and garnished with fresh bean sprouts and crushed peanuts, Jeanne enjoyed it but was surprised they didn't ask how spicy she wanted it. Malaysian Noodles: I guessed from the photos in the menu that this was Char Kway Teow and I was right. It is a popular Malaysian stir-fried noodle dish using flat rice noodles. Their cook did an excellent job. It had a nice smoky with a savory sweet taste. It is tossed in a wok with eggs, bean sprouts, chives and in my case, shrimp. It was outstanding! Yom Yom Yom Yom. There are many other "Malaysian" dishes, but if you have to choose only one to put on your menu, this would be a good choice and they do it quite well. Personally I could eat there every week especially since they have so many other dishes to sample. But unfortunately I live 639 miles away. Thanks for a nice lunch Nora!
