I visited with my boyfriend and some friends on a weekday evening. The place was completely empty other than one to two other tables. I wish I had taken photos of the food, but I forgot to do so. This place had been hyped up for weeks by our friends and just fell short. I had no real issues with the service or ordering system; in fact, it worked pretty well, I just wish the QR code also had a way to pay. However, the food just wasn't that great. The skewers had almost an offensively small amount of meat for price, and almost everything was just covered with cumin and tasted like absolutely nothing else, not even the meat itself. I tried fried dumplings and they were undercooked and flavorless. I ordered corn and it was lukewarm and covered in the same overzealous cumin. The best thing we got by far was the honey glazed beef sticks, but even that brought it to the quality of average yakiniku that we've had. The candlelit tray they had for keeping skewers warm also didn't really work. It would keep 1-2 niche spots hot and that was about it, so we were also eating room temperature meat most times. We ended up spending about $30 a person, and none of us were full by the end. Boyfriend and I stopped for more food on the way home. We were really sad to have to write a poor review for this place after having it hyped up to us. We likely won't be returning. read more

The meats were well seasoned and delicious. But the hot plate really did not keep the skewers warm. I think the tea light went out and no one bothered to check and replace it. The enoki mushrooms were really really yummy. Really enjoyed the squid as well. The edamame could have been better, some of them didn't look fresh. Good experience overall! read more

I've gone to a few Chinese BBQ places at DFW. My favorite is still Fat Ni. They serve real good oil chili sauce which we could get ourselves and other spices too. Suffice to say no other places, such as Friendship offers the spices and chili sauces that are bottomless. This is why this place gets lower rating. The wagyu beef skewers didn't taste any different from regular beef skewers. Felt they are the same. Every table has a small grill to keep skewers warm , this is a good extra touch. Suggestion is for the owners to provide a table for free sauces and seasonings. read more

Located in the Asia plaza, is this restaurant that's open till 2am, which is convenient for those wanting hot pot or meat skewers, later in the evening/early mornings. The meat skewers had a little tray like box with candles under it to keep it warm, which I found to be cool. It was delicious!!! I loved that the menu is on a bar code and you order everything on the site thru your phone. The interior is so cute with lots of instaworthy backgrounds. BBQ and milk tea are amazing. I had a little bit of many things and I truly enjoyed them. They were very flavorful and nicely cooked/made. They served the initial round of our food very fast too (we came in around 3 PM on Friday). One thing that I have to complain about is that it was quite a hassle to order food. They didn't have a paper menu, so at first, they asked me to order food via my phone, then they later offered an iPad for me to continue ordering. Always a fun date night at Friendship BBQ. We lucked out and hit them at a nice slow time on Saturday night. There is a good variety of meats, veggies and drinks to choose from. For a "Friendship" BBQ, they are not very friendly. We were the ONLY Hispanics and NO ONE bother to ask if we knew the dinamic. There is no server, you place your order online. A server, sarcastically asked, "are you not hungry, you didn't order much?" Well, maybe if you would've taken your time to give us customer service and explained your menu, we would've more knowledge and done a better job at placing our order. What we order was too spicy for the kids and they asked, "is it too spicy for you?", again, sarcasm. We felt unwelcome from the time we stepped in to the time we were out.
