Dry ramen - truffle flavor
Gloria C.

I had really high hopes for this ramen place. I came on a Saturday evening with another family. They weren't busy at all, probably only 3 other tables. Everything was clean and the decor seemed very modern and comfortable. The service was great by the way. They were very attentive and professional and meeting all of our needs. The food was lacking though. I had the Tonkatsu ramen. The broth was good but not great. I've definitely had better. The chasiu was underwhelming and soggy. The egg was a bit over soft boiled. The noodles were not that nice bouncy chewy texture that I was hoping for. I just ate it because I was hungry. My husband had the dry noodles truffle flavor and his dish was actually pretty good and presentation was great. My friend also had the dried noodle, but miso flavored, but hers was way too salty. She had them refire another bowl and the 2nd time around was much better. The dishes were decently priced, until you add on the protein and then there goes the $17-$18 bowl of ramen. Geez! Probably won't come back.

Sweet Pickles

Sweet pickles to start, perfect crispy karaage, melt-in-mouth brisket, and rich, comforting ramen to finish. Clean ambiance and quick to pay option for convenience of order.

Pokemon

Food was Great! They had a huge chalkboard near the entrance and they let my kids draw on it. One of the servers drew Pokémon on the bag when we took the leftovers home. We all loved the food and the people working there were super nice. I would come here again.

The mama broth ramen

The ramen was packed with flavor, and the service was warm and attentive. Been here a couple of times already and wait to come back!

mamá ramen w/ brisket

This has quickly become my favorite ramen spot in Dallas. The quality and unique flavor combinations are what I love about this place. It's truly a gem. This time I ordered the mama ramen w/ brisket and DAMN WAS IT GOOD! I wish they were open everyday so I could come more often!

Potstickers

The restaurant wasn't busy at the time, so it was no big deal, but worth noting. The service was actually the highlight of the night, and earned this review one additional star simply because of the effort involved. Else it would be a 3 star review. There was only one server running the entire front of house while the restaurant got progressively busier, and only two chefs in the kitchen. Despite being swamped, the server worked her tail off. She didn't mess up a single order for our large group and kept things moving. I greatly appreciated her hard work. Appetizers (5/5): The wait for food was noticeable due to the staffing, but the appetizers were worth it. We ordered the Edamame, Yatai Gyoza, Agedashi Tofu, and Takoyaki, and all of them were delicious. Entrees (3/5): Unfortunately, the main courses were a bit basic compared to the starters. The Tonkotsu Ramen was strictly average; I've definitely had better broth and noodles elsewhere. If you are looking for the top-tier quality izakaya, Mr. Max Izakaya in Irving is hands down better option. However, you have to wait an hour for a table there.

We had scouted it out online, looking for a ramen place near where we were staying in Plano. Unassuming on the front, the inside is an amazing atmosphere with a vibe straight from a Shinjuku street stall. The wait staff was polite, and very nice. The chef was working away inside the replica street stall. The food arrived quickly, and was delicious! So much flavor! Everything new was somehow even better than the dish we tried before it. So good, so tasty! If we come back for another visit, Yatai is now on our list of restaurants to eat at again!

Honestly, some of the best gyoza I've had. The Cherry Blossom Roll was beautifully plated and the portions of each roll will for sure fill you up. The ahi tower was delicious- I added ponzu sauce to cut some of the sweetness of the house sauce. Overall 5/5 stars

My partner and I live nearby and drive by often, so we decided to stop in for our date night this…read moreevening. The place was tiny but cozy, and we were seated and taken care of promptly. I got gyoza and Katsu Don, and my partner got a Charashi Bowl and Red Clam sushi. The gyoza I'd say was above average and pleasantly crispy. The provided salad was pleasant with a strong citrusy ginger flavor. The Red Clam sushi had wasabi hidden underneath the meat, so keep that in mind if you're a spice baby like myself. My partner described the Charashi bowl as good, especially for the price. My Katsu Don is where I felt everything fell a little flat. It was overly sweet, the rice underneath tasted a bit stale and like nothing, and the katsu itself was a bit too moist and no longer crispy on the outside. However, I must note that it was an impressive $13, when I feel the usual is more like over $20, for a decent amount. The waitstaff brought us these lovely pre-peeled and cut oranges with the check and they were a nice touch to the meal. Overall we had a decent, pleasant experience here!
