    Chopped Brisket Sandwich
    Ann S.

Was invited to go see the banjo players, so we decided to eat. 1st let me say the cook was very friendly and professional . However the cashier tried to charge me for the lady ahead of us and I had to tell him I wasn't paying for her. Then he charged me again so I had to make him remove all her charges and if that wasn't bad enough, after I paid I picked up my 2 drinks the table number and something else (don't remember what because I was upset) when he tried to hand my another plate. I looked at him like how do you expect me to hold that! I expected him to get me a tray or carry to the table (that didn't happen) I only wish I had known that before I tipped him ( this is what's wrong with tipping before service) The food was not great! I had the chopped brisket sandwich (extremely dry) and my grandson had the kids chicken strips and fries . ($36.10) Ended up bringing it home. (Ketchup was hard and old grandson refused to eat it. For myself I won't be returning .

Best meat ever, when you walk in the door you are engulfed with the best smoked smell of Barbecue meat. Tiki Hubby and I got beef and pork ribs, coleslaw baked potatoe and some yummy corn dish. The meat was smoked to perfection and their tangy sauce was perfect. The ribs fell off the bones we tried to decide which was better pork or beef both won! Causal large dinning room. The guys behind the counter were so much fun taking our order and delivering the meaty wonders.

Back Country BBQ serves some of the best bbq in Dallas! From the meat to the sides, everything tastes mouthwateringly delicious and flavorful. In the decades since my family first started going here, we have never experienced a bad meal. The staff is friendly and funny! The restaurant itself offers plenty of seating but feels homey and comfortable. I always recommend Back Country BBQ to anyone who asks!

Got the loaded baked potato with brisket meat and side of chili. It was sooo good . I need a nap now lol. Thank you, I will be back soon.

    Worst taste.

It's the worst plate I have tasted in a long time. They are not kind people. Worst beef ribs ever.

Baker with Meat is really good & filling. Order to go and they brought out to my car. Very friendly & fast lunch! Thx

There were six of us, and we picked everything from the smoker we could see. The barbecue was everything you hope Texas BBQ will be--beautifully smoked, incredibly tasty. The meat was tender with just and every bite reminded us why Texas has earned its legendary reputation. I know claiming one barbecue joint is better than the rest of Texas is a bold statement, but after this meal, I'm willing to make it. Texas may set the gold standard for barbecue, and this place somehow manages to rise above it. If I'm back in Dallas, this will be one of my first stops. BB

I've never had BBQ this tasty, and it's on another level compared to the places I've gone to back home. I told the gentleman cooking that this was my first time, and he gave me tips on getting smaller portions so I could try more offerings. I'm glad I did because I wanted to focus on the meat! As I worked my way down the line, everyone was helpful with asking if I wanted bread, what deserts were worth trying, and closing the transaction. The workers who clean off the tables are also amazing. I was able to practice my Spanish with them. Thank you Hard Eight BBQ for making me feel welcome. I'll definitely come by again when I'm in town!

By the time the store opened, the line had grown to being over twenty parties long, so plan accordingly if you don't want to be waiting for a while. Between the four in our party, we shared a three meat BBQ plate with bacon burnt ends, brisket, and their house made sausage. For our two sides, we chose their hatch chile mac n cheese and their Mexican street corn. Following the recommendations of many Yelpers, we also ordered two of the brisket tostadas and two of the birria tacos. When we received our plate of meat, I was a bit surprised at how little of each meat there was on the plate, but in hindsight, this ended up being the perfect amount of food, where everyone was able to get a sample of everything. Of the items we ordered, my favorite was definitely the burnt ends. These were melt in your mouth tender, and was insanely rich and decadent. Each of the three pieces in our order had a beautiful bark on the outside that resulted in a satisfying crunch with every bite. The casing to the sausage was snappy and the sausage itself was very juicy. The brisket was fall apart tender. The brisket was a bit light on seasoning, so I ended up using the Aztec Gold BBQ sauce they had sitting at the table with it. The sides that we chose were both delicious. The pasta in the mac n cheese was cooked perfectly and the noodles was generously sauced. The elote was sweet and smokey, and the Cotija cheese added creaminess to the side. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hurtado Barbecue and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you're in Texas and are looking for great tasting BBQ.

Rating: 6.5/10 Date Last Visited: 7/12/2026…read more I ordered Brisket ($35/lb), Pork Ribs ($29/lb), the Texas Twinkie ($6), and a quart of Hatch Chili Mac N Cheese ($15). The brisket and pork ribs were decent, but honestly pretty dry and lacking in flavor when compared to some other BBQ places in DFW. For the price, it's pretty similar to other BBQ in the area. The Texas Twinkie is a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. It was my favorite item as the cream cheese and bacon balanced out the spiciness of the jalapeño. The mac n cheese was also delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The service was great too as they made a mistake on my order and quickly corrected it. I like that this place is open daily and for dinner too. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for some BBQ, but if you're a huge fan of BBQ then I recommend going to the other top BBQ places.

Even though the playground is usually his favorite spot, he didn't hesitate & insisted we go to Kafi for the brisket. That pretty much sums up how my family feels about this place. The brisket is consistently excellent, and you can tell they use the highest-quality ingredients because the flavor really speaks for itself. Go! The Real Deal!…read moreNow that we have that out of the way, let's explore further. I will start by saying Hurtado was close to scoring a 5 Star review but fell short for one,Major reason. My memories of the farmers market area of Dallas Texas are some of my earliest. Going back decades to when it was an actual farmers market. You know, where farmers load trucks of fresh produce and travel 10s or hundreds of miles in order to sell the fruits of their labor and make a living. Well, starting about 40 years ago, that small farmer ethos started fading and the powers that be implemented a Farmers Market Redevelopment Plan. Bingo, that's where we are today. A popular multiuse, living, working, resturant, shopping district that's self sustaining on the edge of downtown. Enter Hurtado and another startegiclly placed outpost for their award winning Texas BBQ with a twist. Located in a new architecturally pleasing building, the only potential barrier between you and the brisket is parking. On my Tuesday lunch this wasn't a problem but at busier times, keep this in mind. When you enter, the place is bright and clean with staff waiting to make your visit count. The hostess even brought us menues as we looked up at the wall menu choices, nice touch. Before long we decided and slid up the counter to order. Ordering, paying, taking our number and beverage glasses, was easy peasy. In case your inclined, there is a full bar which may entice my return visit . Full array of soft drinks and ice tea is also handy. We took a comfortable booth and only wait ed a few minutes ( long enough for our delicious hand cut fries to cook) before our "El Jeffe" was delivered to our table. After the drooling stopped we dove in sharing, brisket, ribs, hatch Chili Mac n cheese, brisket beans, bread, pulled pork, burnt ends, hand cut fries and Texas Twinkies. The food here is excellent. Made with love as Texas Barbecue has to be. Service with a smile is the deal clincher. I will return for a follow up review and reveal what kept me from serving up the 5 th star! For now I recommend you... Go!
