I went to Skytown for dinner and drinks last night before a Halloween party and I loved that even on a Friday night it wasn't insanely busy. It's a seat yourself restaurant and bar. The staff greeted us immediately. We ordered a vodka martini and a vodka gimlet, both deliciously strong. My friend and I both got burgers. She got the veggie burger with chips and I got the regular burger with a salad. Both of us loved them. Great, affordable prices. With 2 drinks and a meal each we ended up spending about $22 each with is great in New York. Will definitely be coming back and I want to go for coffee during the day! My only wish is that they had French fries...but I can live without :) read more

I went today for brunch. I ordered the beef morning burger. It was flavorless and basically just a hunk of meat with an egg. The food took awhile to come and the service was slow. The rest of my table ordered tacos. Had a bite and they were ok. read more

I really love Skytown, opens early everyday if you want that hair of the dog, good company if you're on your own, great food and drink for whatever you're in the mood for. Your typical neighborhood bar with a friendly crowd and atmosphere. However, they have EXCELLENT FOOD. Nothing fancy about the furniture, food, or drinks but they clearly put a lot of effort into making you feel welcome and always changing their menu to seasonally provide high quality food, tap beer, and cocktails. My favorite is the steak sandwich, or the cubano, or the chicken sandwich with the Calabria marinated peppers, or the butternut squash soup, or the tacos, or the burgers. read more

After reading all the great reviews I went to check the place out and I think I must have went on an off night. The food was bland and just ehhh. The bartender was killing it but my drink just didn't do it for me. I wanted to experiment with something new so I blame myself not them for that. The atmosphere was fun and everyone was outgoing. I really don't know what to say of this place... I might be wrong and got the service completely wrong.... If there is a waitress putting food out she was deff not attentive... if it was bar service only the I guess it was ok?... food is alright, the place looks very cute and old fashioned... I don't know what else to say... I had to get up for ketchup, hot sauce, milk and sugar... again if theres waitress service she was always going out to check her cellphone... and talking to someone at the end of the bar... bartender was really nice, even went out of the bar to give me my card slipt... again it was probably me just not getting how the service in this place works... might try it again just to see whether it was just me or the service is not attentive, we'll see.. read more

I really like this place. The food is great - creative, vegetarian-ish and pretty reasonable for dinner. There's a dinner special. Bartenders are very cute, funny and make you feel at home. Egg sandwich for breakfast is amazing. These guys are open 18 hours a day! Really great room and atmosphere in the evening. Under Myrtle Station JMZ never looked so good! read more

Best bar in the neighborhood by a long shot. $4 G&T's and delicious, healthy food--I really can't say enough about this place and the owners. Interior decoration is spot on with raw wood and a tin ceiling (check out the anaconda skin that's just chilling on the far wall). Tried to order something and they told me it would be right out. 40 minutes later I went to check on it & they said they never received it. 10 minutes after that a waitress pulled me to the side & told me they were out of what I'd ordered 50 minutes before. They offered me another meal at the same price, but I really wish they'd informed me in a reasonable amount of time about the situation. Also, the cocktails are hit & miss in terms of proper mixing - depends who's taking your order, I guess. Go if you must. read more

I went here last week with my girlfriend, she order the winter salad and I got the steak sandwich. Both were great, especially the steak sandwich. (I highly recommend the steak sandwich to anyone and everyone!!) The staff was really friendly, they kept checking to see if we were alright which I appreciated. I live a few blocks away from Skytown and it's a great bar when I can't decide where to go. The service is really good and the bartenders are always very friendly. It's also extremely versatile--it does a quiet/calm brunch or coffee during the day, but on weekend nights they also have great noisy dance parties. I love their house cocktails--especially the one with the jalapeño-infused liquor, although I forget what it's called. read more

Two stars for a good cocktail, minus a star for super salty soup, minus two stars for terrible service. Waiter gave us attitude the whole night and it took 15 minutes to wave him down to get the check. Before we could pay, he literally went and sat down and started hanging out at one of the tables. Skytown means well. The decor is simple/great and the people are hip, but the workers, wow. The service isn't too great. The bartender ignored my friend and I completely. We waited ten minutes at the bar. I went to the bathroom and came back and still no acknowledgment. We finally left without even the slightest hello. It's a nice and relaxing atmosphere if you want some drinks and chat with a couple of friends. The food though, was not great at all. It was plain, and my chicken was over cooked with burn parts. a random dark, hipster cafe near mr. kiwi and never again. charging $9 for a cup of quinoa salad mix is outrageous. i tried to order a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch with carmelized onion and fig jam, too but they didn't have either :( went with the italian tuna sandwich instead which was dry and flat. the menu which included farm sourced dairy products and local breads looks great on paper, but the ingredients just didn't come together. i would skip this overpriced hipster joint and go with the myriads of mexican taquerias on the street next time. read more

This was my first and last time at this place i ordered the chicken and waffle for brunch the chicken was So Over cooked that i requested a new meal. Well to my suprise i guess the cook didnt feel i should get fresh waffles along with my chicken. Because they sent out cold waffles with once again over cooked chicken. I now ask my server for a manager and she smiled and stated" Were all kind of like the manager here" are you serious then continue to tell me that by law they have to serve burnt chicken it gets better while she matained a smile the whole time it was very cold she showed no all concern for a unstatified customer and only offered credit for one drink not even the credit for the disgusting plate of food I was served. I gave two stars only because my friend was wise enough to choose and Omelet to which she was very satisfied with. read more

I not only get a great new cafe across the street from me, I get a great new bar too? Perfect chill atmosphere, amazing cheap food, $6 old fashioneds, and a super friendly staff. It's obvious they're still getting some kinks worked out, but compared to the over-crowded Little Skips and the often too-loud-to-have-a-conversation Blue Monday it's a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Skytown should be shut down for selling RAW turkey burgers!!! First, the happy hour should clarify that you are getting a turkey burger because when you have a completely dumb bartender to ask "how do you want it cooked" you are being fooled by this question itself. Turkey burgers should come only as COOKED, not medium, not well or rare type of BS. The kitchen staff should know as a number one rule that there is no such thing as medium turkey burger?!? Are you guys insane?!? Killing ppl with them nasty raw burgers!! Whoever hired this staff should be ashamed. Here I am now, at 8am writing a review instead of finishing my sleep. It's hard to sleep with fever and diarrhea though!!! Terrible experience! Please find educated and well trained staff or don't go near having turkey burgers on the menu when you have stupid staff with no common sense. Guess common sense is not that common nowadays!
