Rude hostess very rude so rude we decided to leave and get a refund for the food 5 minutes after we got seated. Not a whole lot of items pick from and for the cost of the salad bar/ buffet they should have a bigger selection in the buffet part. The actual salad bar is very nice, that's the most positive thing about this place. Turlock one is far better and worth the extra drive. I will not ever go here again. read more

We went to celebrate my daughters birthday and instead of having a good time it was disgusting. The plates at the buffet were all dirty and disgusting, when I told one of the workers they shrugged and didn't seem to care. The food was cold when they brought it out. These guys have a great salad bar with someone standing by ready to toss or mix the salad for you. Prices aren't too bad n the steaks are usually spot on when ordering it cooked a certain way. I can always expect a good meal when I go there. Just a bit of a ride from Patterson but worth it. They need a few more franchises to open up around the area. read more

Well I'd just like to start off by saying this place use to be one of my favorite places to dine the wife and I. Apparently there was a switch in management recently and for whatever reason Beatrice (new GM) can't seem to figure it out. Such great product but ran extremely inefficiently. Absolutely avoid this unprofessional workplace at all costs. Restaurant has gone down hill as of late and if you are still craving steak and Malibu, as I always did, just take the short trek down highway 99 south into Turlock they have MUCH better customer service it'll be worth the drive. Beatrice does not know how to run a restaurant. When asked for help or to speak with our server, Beatrice had to be reminded multiple times. It was as if she didn't care for any complaints and was merely there to pass time. read more

Me and my wife go to this place every so often. We have always enjoyed it. Well our 14year anniversary was yesterday so we decided to go there. My wife had the chicken club and enjoyed it. I love Philly cheese steak so I decided to get that boy was that a mistake. It is not anything near a traditional Philly. As soon as I bit into it I tasted cheddar cheese and later found out it was Velveeta cheese. That totally destroyed my experience if they would of used mozzarella or Swiss cheese it would have tasted awesome but cheddar is too overpowering. I love this Sizzler's. It is one of my favourite restaurants. I love to eat out and have eaten at Sizzlers in several other towns. This one is the best. I am a woman who enjoys dining alone unlike many single women. The staff here always treats me well here. I have gone to some restaurants who sort of ignore a single person dining, especially a woman.------- Modesto Sizzlers has the best salad bar in town and I love the soups. Kudos to your Chef's, for the soups especially. I eat quite often here and always go away happy with the food and pleased with the service. The food here is great but the manager Thomas Luna has a really bad attitude and should not be the manager. I love this place and I've been going there for five years. On Fourth of July I went with my family for dinner there. He was not happy to see us. I called before I came and verified that it was OK to come we were told that the place closes at nine when we got there he told us that the place close at eight which wasn't a problem. Then we got there at 7:30 he came and told me that if anybody arrives after eight he will not take their order and he came and told me that three times. read more

Well I like sizzler if you order a meal to go with your salad bar, so then you at least have items to eat completed, I was in there this last month for my mother's birthday, I was running late so I just had my sister pre - order salad bar for me, cuz I really enjoy the freshness overall, well the dressings(every single kind) was absolutely disgusting each one worse than the one before, totally ruined my appetite all together, my niece and sister got a jar of mayonaise to use on their salads, obv. their opinion of the dressing agreed with my conclusion , seems to me the dressing recipes are just not being followed, or carelessness, laziness, or no sampling to improve it is def. not being addressed, you can't cut corners on the main thing that gives a salad flavor , just saying !!!! read more

My poor father, who is a senior citizen and a retired veteran, paid for his food and was trying to enjoy his lunch today when the table behind him was enjoying the soccer game on the television...which is all well and good but there was one woman who was yelling and screaming and clapping louder and louder..my father even tried to move to another table to get away from the noise but once the woman saw this she got even louder...the server even approached my husband and said "You moved."...he responded, "could you eat with that noise?!" The server did NOTHING to lower the volume...Sizzler is NOT a sports bar...it is an eatery where people should be able to enjoy their food in relative quiet enjoyment...talking and laughing or comradely is expected and likely welcomed but this woman was acting borderline belligerent....or drunk...my father was so frustrated that he left his PAID FOR food there and went to walk out and he said to the table of people, "thanks for ruining my meal"...the woman yells even louder...."your welcome!" Well, he used to go to Sizzler at least twice a month but not again...I think that the management should have either not had the soccer game on or asked them very nicely to please keep it down....there is NO respect or reverence for seniors...which is THE primary demographic that goes to Sizzler...shameful. read more

Took my grandfather and fiancee to eat at the salad bar. The salad bar was efficient enough to make a good salad and enjoy some fruit on the side. The reason why I gave one star is due to the service and greeting we received when we arrived. The girl that greeted us and took the payment was very rude for no reason. She intentionally gave me dirty looks and had that voice of feeling irritated with use. All I did was smile and was in no way rude to her. My grandfather is in a wheelchair and she walked us to a booth where you have to take a step up to sit in it. I could have been mean to her and asked her where her common sense is in thinking someone who cannot walk and is in a wheelchair can get out of the wheelchair and take a step up into a booth? But I kept my mouth shut since she kept her attitude, so I kindly asked for a table that is wheelchair accessible. All she did was roll her eyes, make a hissy fit sound and took us to a wheelchair accessible table. The server never came by to refill our drinks, which my fiancee had to find her and ask for refills. We left no tip due to being treated poorly as the customer. read more

My husband took our son, myself, and his Mother out for Easter dinner here. Everything was all and well, servers were accommodating, etc. until I received my food. It had a pubic hair strung throughout the parsley that came on my shrimp and steak plate. I was thoroughly disgusted. Of course they took back the food and made it again, but my appetite was gone. When we left, I asked to speak with a manager and asked for a gift certificate or something to compensate me for THE CURLY KINKY PUBIC HAIR that was found in my food. The manager told me that it was too hard to be a pubic hair, that when he picked it up, it fell apart. Which was a lie because it wasn't hard and didn't fall apart when I first discovered it in my food. I think we all know what pubic hair looks like. So long story short, the manager denied that it was pubic hair, never would admit it of course, but when pressed as to what it was exactly, he said he didn't know. He gave me a gift certificate for one meal that I will NOT be going back for. Be warned. You may end up with something in your food that you didn't pay for. Yuck. read more

We decided to stop by here after a trip to the mall for dinner. It wasn't too busy so we got in right away. I grabbed a plate from the salad bar and there was dry food stuck to the bottom of the plate and the silverware I had was dirty as well. The food was a 2 out of 5 and the service wasn't great. Disappointed. Shrimp scampi was not good. Tasted like too much wine was added and shrimp was overlooked. The steak was tough to cut and chew as well as dry. Spent $14 on that meal and it wasn't worth it. read more

Haven't been to Sizzler in 8 years or more and tonight's food was so bad. Philly Steak Sandwich was with ground beef but the picture on the menu shows strips of steak and barely any in the bun. Manager never came to table when we complained just stood by the doorway of his office looking over but did not come. Will never go again so sad what happen to the place. read more

Haven't been to Sizzlers in years as there isn't one close to our home. Saw the TV ads for riblets, so we made the drive to Modesto. It was worth the drive ! We were met with a smile & greeted when we ordered our food. We were seated & our drinks were brought to our table as well as some delicious cheesy bread. Our meals were cooked perfectly, steak was melt in your mouth. The riblets were messy to eat but very good. They did come with a hand wiping towell. Our waitress, wish I got her name , was excellent & we are looking forward to our next meal there! Went in on Thursday around 4:30pm. While busy, the place was not crowded. The salad bar had several containers empty and when I said something to the Manager Thomas all he said is I will have them filled. That did not happen. The salad bar had food all over it. It was not being cleaned like it usually is. People were putting soup in the desert bowls as there were no soup bowls out. The food was so salty that my husband and I got horrible indigestion. The floor was dirty and sticky in several places. We even saw another party tell the manager about it and he did nothing. The restrooms were filthy. Never seen this so bad. We will not return. All the two managers did was stand around and did not make sure the customers had what they needed. read more

After numerous bad experiences at other Sizzler restaurants (mostly Southern California) wife and I decided to check out the Modesto store. Initial impression was wow, have they cleaned up. Interior was really nice with great lighting, then we sat down. Booth we were seated in had a big silver Sizzler sign with a bright spotlight on it. It was like sitting in traffic on the west bound 120 heading toward San Francisco with the sun directly in your eyes. Luckily they weren't that busy so we moved out of the glare. Went our first round on salad - very nice, Went for seconds with the pasta salads and the infamous "Is it or isn't it real Crab" in the crab salad. Nice big chunks of whatever it was, other pasta salads were blah. On to dessert, got some Apple Crisp which had a nice crunch and wonderful apples. Then tried the "Bread Pudding" Thought I was going to die, it was that bad. Consistency of fresh snot. Wasn't prepared properly at all, hardly warm. Wife took a bite and almost lost her salads - literally. Pull it Sizzler if you're cooks can't prepare it correctly. Will go back to this location eventually, well after my stomach recovers from the "Snot Pudding" but will surely keep my distance from desserts. read more
