This place has a huge sitting arrangement and usually crowded on Thursday lunch timing so always arrive early if possible if you planning to eat here on Thursday afternoon They do have halal options mentioned in their menu. All their lamb dishes are halal and I did try their two lamb options ( rack of lamb and baghali polo) , they both were amazing. In terms of chicken , I wish I could try their saffron chicken which is very popular dish at this place, but I did try their joojeh kabob which was the only halal option there in terms of chicken. And I admit it was amazing as well, this kabob was cooked to perfection and had all the flavors along with being juicy . They do have a lot of vegetarian options and pescatarian options as well. Incredibly tasty! I was lucky enough to get into Skewers on a Saturday night with no reservation. It was the first time I had been here in years so I was happy to see they've maintained the same great quality and flavor. Our table ordered the Bruschetta from the East as an appetizer. It was incredibly light and fresh. The portion was a tad small but it tasted lovely. From the bar, I got a Turkish Martini. It was amazing and came out quickly! It had a rich flavor with a nice light foam on top. My main entree was the Shish and Lula combination plate. I loved it! The portion was large, the meat was perfectly tender and cooked as I requested. I really enjoyed the flavors of both kebabs too! The veggies are also super tender and seasoned well. We came here on Friday night for dinner and it was about a 20min wait to get a table without reservations. So we helped ourselves to the bar. I ordered something off menu which was a paper plane and it was fantastic! We went about 2 rounds here before being seated. For on trays we got the salad with grilled lamb chops, the lamb chops needed more of a sear and the salad was too acidic and needed more flavor. We also shared the shallot yogurt which was lacking the shallot taste. But our combo plates with the barberry rice were amazing and grilled to perfection. I love it jus which it was more traditional grilled tomatoes and onions instead of the zucchini and carrots. lol Bar service was amazing but table service was just alright. He only checked on us once and we seen him cater to a few tables more than us. I wanted more grilled tomatoes and onions and by the time he came back it was just time for our check. We hardly had to wait and she made sure we were taken care of our waitress Erin was also great she even gave us some recommendations. Now the food holy cow it was my first time as my husband had been there on business in the past I was blown away hands down one of the best Mediterranean/Persian food I've eaten. We started with the garlic hummus and it was amazing you can tell it's literally made fresh I recommend the Chefs platter because even if it's two people you can still take it home and eat it later and you get all the different options with the platter the Hibiscus Margarita was amazing as was the old fashion I loved the bar area and they even have a wine cellar. Appetizer- you have to try the Cilantro Jalapeno hummus that goes well with their warm flat bread. Very addicting, not spicy at all with lemon juice added. From the outside, the building had that rustic, almost Mediterranean castle vibe with a glowing clock tower that said, "You're in for something special." Inside? A semi-upscale feel with high energy from a packed Friday night crowd. Tables were full, so they opened up the upper level just for us, felt like VIP treatment from the jump. Definitely had bottle service vibes. We started with the appetizer samplers, and it did not miss. Creamy hummus, grape leaves that didn't taste like sadness, cool cucumber yogurt dip, and this smoky eggplant dish that slapped harder than expected. It was all solid, but that hummus deserves its own standing ovation. So does the bread. Mmmm bread. We had the sampler of appetizers- I wish the dolmas were a little more tart/citrus and the filling inside to be a little more tender. I cannot think of the seasonings but something tasted a little off? The steak was very tender and cooked so well. I enjoyed this one more in particular, but the price point was a little steep. My friend had the chicken skewers- we were very disappointed that it was so dry , it was great that we had taziki and hummus from the sampler because we used that to dip it. My partner and I have been to Skewers several times, and Mediterranean food is one of my favorites. We've even ordered through DoorDash before and always had a good experience. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. I ordered the chicken, and the texture was so off that it tasted like cartilage instead of chicken breast. I actually had to spit it out, but I had already swallowed some before realizing something was wrong. We also ordered the filet mignon and salmon skewers, wine, the trio dessert, and the largest appetizer. My partner felt totally normal afterward. I was the only one who ate the chicken--and the only one who got sick. We went to a candlelight orchestra right after dinner, and I was struggling the entire time. My stomach hurt so badly that my partner felt awful watching me try to get through the night. I was sick all night and was only lucky that I happened to be working from home the next day. The restaurant wasn't busy, so it left me wondering if the drink sat waiting at the bar a bit too long. Not a big deal, we were happy to overlook it. But when my plate arrived, my very first bite had a long black hair in it. That was an instant dealbreaker. Our waitress handled it professionally and immediately offered to remake the meal, but once you pull a hair halfway down your throat, there's really no recovering the appetite. My wife ordered the Lulu Kabob, which has always been her go-to, but this time it tasted noticeably different , not terrible, just off from what she normally loves here. She ended up eating the rice instead, which thankfully was still solid. The staff were kind and apologetic, but overall, the experience fell flat. I can eat these kabobs everyday. The rice is so good as well. We love Skewers and always stop here when we are in town. The food is just great. The place is large and beautiful inside and out. It is spotless. The service is so very good. All the servers are super nice and they get to you straight away and they don't rush you. They know the menu and can guide you. The seating is comfortable and the other patrons seems happy. It is a calming place to be. Their Roasted Garlic Hummus is some of the best in town and we just love their fresh Cilantro and Jalapenos blended Roasted Garlic Hummus. They have a marinated chicken breast grilled over open flames with Lemon Butter Garlic sauce which is a must try and it comes with their great rice. Their Sultan's Plate is so great. it is Marinated Filet Mignon Barg with a Skewer of Lula. There is nothing not to like here. Any skewer you have will be great. We have had most.
