The service is top-notch and incredibly attentive. My server, Kiki, has taken care of me both times I've visited, and she has been polite, knowledgeable, and informative about the menu each time. The chefs clearly know what they're doing in the kitchen. The dishes are prepared well, portions are worth the price, and the plating is exceptional. You eat with your eyes first, and they truly understand that important culinary skill--something that can be hard to find locally. First time trying Thaiburi which is located next to the Vallarta Market on Pelandale. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with the place having several customers seated along with steady to go orders being picked up. Decor is very minimalistic but clean in appeaeance. Menu had numerous photos of dishes they offer to give customers an idea of what it looks like and its description. We ordered Chicken satay as an appetizer. It was a good portion of char grilled chicken breast along with white toast and their peanut sauce and cucumber relish. 5 stars Pad Thai with beef- presentation was good. The taste was fine but something about it, didn't make me overwhelmingly eat a lot of it. My wife liked it so I'll give it 4 stars. Pineapple fried rice with chicken- good portion size (we had leftovers). Has a sweetness to it but was expected. 4 stars BBQ Pork - another good portion size that was on a bed of lettuce and served with sticky rice in a foil along with some hot chili sauce. This was my fav because of the char grilled taste and spiciness. 5 stars Wife got a cup of Tom Yum soup with prawns. She liked it with its sour taste to it. 5 stars For dessert, they ran out of the fried banana so tried their sticky rice with vanilla ice cream (Thaibury Khao Tum Mut- Very tasty with coconut milk tasting sticky rice. I debated writing this because I hate to leave bad reviews, but this is probably not a place I would go again to eat in or order take out. But as someone who has worked as a server and in operations for big restaurant groups, the entire place needs some retraining. Food: Overall we had 1 good dish - their pad-eggplant. Noodle dishes were clumpy. Rice = HORRIBLE. Dry and not fresh. Their salads were not great, and overall the quality does not equate to the price. Service: This place cannot handle a large table. Anything over 3 people is probably a stretch for them. We had a reservation for Mother's Day, and when we came in there were only 2 tables who were at the end of their meal already. They paid and left. Tables were coming in, but we were able to place our order prior to it getting busy. The restaurant is pretty full now, all the tables that come after us are eating or have eaten, and have paid and left. We had a few appetizers and nothing. I ask the servers why this is, and my answer is that they are processing other orders, processing to-go orders, and then the chef wants to make our dishes all at the same time. Our food never comes at the same time. There's anywhere from 10 mins in between each plate, meaning majority of the time we were eating 1-2 bites then just waiting. Stir fry dishes given without serving spoons or rice, tom yum soup given without bowls. Near the end of the meal, we are still sitting there waiting for the remaining dishes and nothing. We asked for the dishes - looks like they forgot. We just ask them to cancel it and then get us the check. One time I asked for the soup bowls, she said yes and left. Then went to help with delivery pickup and to seat people. Completely forgot until I asked her again. Another time I asked for some additional plates, the other server said she would get it and then left and completely forgot, I had to ask again. We asked for egg on the side since my niece is allergic and never got the egg. I had to ask for that and my other niece ended up eating the plain egg with rice because she was hungry. There was an issue between the front of house and back of house and until they can get that figured out, they should turn off their ordering system. If they are a sit down restaurant, they need to ensure they can prioritize the folks they are charging an automatic 20% service fee from. It sucked because we went to celebrate my mom and we all ended up leaving hungry and annoyed. read more

Extremely disappointed with our experience. We came in on Mother's Day as a party of 12 expecting a nice family meal, but the service and overall coordination completely missed the mark. There seemed to be a major disconnect between the front and back of the restaurant, as multiple parties who arrived after us were seated, served, and finished eating while we were still waiting on food. Communication was minimal, and we constantly had to ask for updates instead of staff proactively checking in. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time, we ultimately had to cancel two dishes because we simply could not continue waiting any longer. I understand holidays are busy, but this experience felt disorganized and poorly managed from start to finish. Small, clean - the condiments of pepper / salt / sugar. Menu show case of colorful dishes - got the chicken larb , crab rangoon, pa tai & boat noodle. Went to pick up the order and the food was ready by the time I got there (and by the time they have me over the phone). They have quite a selection of foods and from what we ordered the food was absolutely delicious. The papaya salad had so much flavor and was packed November so all the juices didnt spill from the packaging. The noodles we got was fresh, topped nicely. I greatly enjoyed this dish. I was out in Modesto because I dropped my truck off to get some work done. While waiting my daughter and I decided to grab Thai food and gave Thaiburi a try. I highly recommend this place! We got an order of the Samosas, they were flavorful, light and flaky. The Thom Kha soup, which was loaded with chicken (the protein we chose) and packed with that coconut and lemongrass flavor. My daughter also ordered the yellow curry which again was PACKED with flavor! For my entree I got the crab fried rice, it had plenty of real crab meat and wasn't mushy like others I've had, the flavor wasn't overwhelming and hit just right! I stopped here this evening to pick up dinner to take home, about 10 minutes away. I ordered the fresh spring rolls and the Pad Thai with chicken. I am extremely disappointed with both items. The spring rolls are basically all lettuce with a tiny piece of shrimp and a literal pinch of noodles. The Pad Thai was dry and flavorless and like a brick of noodles in the container. I had high hopes because the restaurant itself is beautiful and the pictures in the menu looked amazing. Sadly, this was not the case. The papaya salad was incredibly fresh and the basil gives it a unique flavor, so good!! The yellow curry we ordered medium spice so I thought it was too spicy and wife not spicy enough. She thought it was a little too sweet but I loved it. Wife asked for more spice so they brought three golden bowls with dry chili peepers flakes, hot chili oil and chili paste which she put on everything, me? I just took the pic!! The curry broth was rich , creamy and so good that you could just eat that as a soup,. The chicken pad Thai came with the noodles, purple cabbage, carrots, scallions and sprouts separate and you mixed them together. We ate at Thaiburi last night for the first time -- we will definitely be back. We started with the crab Rangoon; it was the first time in a long while that we could actually taste crab in the filling. The sweet chili sauce was fresh and well balanced. I had the Pad-Him-Ma-Phan Chicken, and my wife had Pad-Basil. Both were very tasty and fresh. I usually shy away from chicken at restaurants because it is so easy to overcook, but this was the best chicken I've had at a Thai restaurant in a long time. So there's nothing we didn't like. We ordered yellow and red curry, pad thai, pad see ew, mogu mogu (with orange). The yellow curry is very creamy and I can taste the coconut milk, as anyone supposed to. The red curry has a nice little spice kick to it, very well balanced dish comes with bunch of bell peppers. The pad see ew (one of the go-to) is very flavorful, comes with broccoli, carrots. Not the best pad see ew I have had but definitely in top 5. The pad Thai was my favorite here, the best part is they put crushed peanuts and sprouts on the side rather than on the top. Which is amazing as people will have option to top it as they want. The pad Thai noodles were very well seasoned, a must have at this location. We ordered everything with chicken, the chicken is a bit dry but which is pretty normal in Thai dishes (nothing to complaint about). Most authentic Thai food in the area! Flavors were on point. I asked for medium spice on my green papaya salad but it was hot! So many Thai chilies! My mouth was burning but I enjoyed the taste. Once I picked out a few chilies it was a better spice level for me. The fresh spring rolls were large, cut into small pieces and fell apart once you bite it. Aww yes! Another Thai place has opened up in Modesto! I have to say, the interior of this place is gorgeous! I love the painted blue walls and minimalist look they put in the decor. Not a big fan of the chairs though. I personally feel like they're going to break on me, not a sturdy feel. I tried the crab Rangoon's, they were wonderful. No skimpy fillings I got the Panang curry. We had two waitresses during the time we were here. The first waitress was serving and working in the back kitchen. She did not know the location of the spices, pretty slow and was very young so it's not a slight on her, but maybe needs more training or help. As I told our waitress, this was probably the best meal from a restaurant that we have had in a long time. The restaurant was clean and tidy. It looked really nice inside. Our server was kind and helpful. The prices were very fair for the quality of meal you get. We ordered deep fried spring rolls, Panang curry with beef, pad see ew with chicken, Pad-Prik-Pao with shrimp, and added a side of roti it was all amazing and flavorful.
