Super friendly and quick service, appreciated when you need to get to a show at the nearby Gallo Center! Shrimp and pork fresh spring rolls were Delicious, full and accompanied by peanut sauce (that i mixed with Sriracha haha). Lemongrass chicken was very flavorful. While it isn't fancy this is a satisfying place and popular with locals based on the takeout business! read more

located in downtown modesto...finding street parking and walking over...surprised to find phoenix noodle house looking hip and very busy...not the normal vietnamese noodle soup vibe...downstairs was packed, but taken to a small 2nd floor loft area...menu provided with the typical vietnamese pho, rice plates, vermicelli and appetizers....also available a few choices of fried rice, chow fun, chow mein, egg noodle soups, drinks and specials...ordered 14. vermicelli with grilled pork $14.50 and g. chicken wings $9.95...mention service was a bit slow...chicken wings arriving first, but server walked away without providing any plates or utensils...had to wait for the main dish to arrive along with some utensils...the wings were fried hard and super crunchy, but it was literally drowning in a pool of sweet chili sauce (or similar)...it would be a huge improvement if it was just lightly tossed in some sauce instead of pouring a bowl of sauce over the wings...waste of sauce and just too much...vermicelli with grilled pork has an egg roll to the side...presentation was very basic and taste matched...the vermicelli was underwhelming....food seemed subpar, but the vibes are cool... read more

This place has nice cozy vibes. The service was great. It's not a very large place, but the servers were very attentive and quick. Food came out quickly, especially for considering that every table was full in that place. I ordered the vermicelli bowl #20 with shrimp pork and chicken. I enjoyed the pork the most, there wasn't much chicken, but there was a lot of lettuce. I added all of the sauce given for my noodles, but even after that they still tasted dry. I really wish it was better, but it was just ok food. read more

I heard about this place for a long time and we happened to be in Modesto just down the road, so we stopped by for dinner. This place is really tiny. The bottom level had some tables that were put together to make a large table and maybe 3 other tables. They asked if we wanted to sit upstairs and I said it was fine and up there there was about four tables. I was ready to give this place 5 stars, but I did take a star off first service. When we were sat and asked what we wanted to drink and I started with my drink first and then I ordered for my daughters, the waitress asked me again what I wanted and I was confused. I told her again and then she went on her way. When it came to ordering, I asked for the chicken wing appetizer, pork chow fun and a large #1 pho with two small bowls, so that we could share. After I ordered, she asked me what size pho I wanted. Our drinks arrived, but my 10-year-olds drink was a lot larger than the other drinks we had ordered, which we weren't expecting. The chicken wings came first. We ordered them mild and I will tell you, those were some of the best chicken wings I've ever had...the sauce is sweet, the wings are crisp, but still moist. Definitely will go back and try this in a medium level. The pork chow fun looked a little bit different than what I was used to, but it tasted pretty good. It came with cabbage, broccoli, cilantro and a few other vegetables. The pho came out and the broth smelled really good and I started adding my sauces, but then realize that we did not receive a plate with any of the vegetables. Being seated upstairs, it's really hard to get the attention of your server who is downstairs. When she finally came upstairs, I told her we did not receive any of the vegetables and she went down and brought us a plate that had 3 slices of jalapeno, a pile of bean sprouts and one lime for the 3 of us. No basil whatsoever. At that point I didn't want to ask for anything else, so I let it go. A different server came upstairs and told us to take our time and had placed the bill on the table and I asked for some to go containers, she brought it promptly and then the other server had come and asked if we needed boxes when the boxes and the bag were already sitting on the corner of the table. We will definitely go back in give it another go and hopefully the service is a little bit better because I would love to give this place a 5 star review. read more

Came once many years ago when I had first moved down here. It was a very cold and wet day, but my cousin insisted we come. She said it was the best pho she has ever had. Up until that point I was not well versed on what pho was. I absolutely loved it and for some reason didn't come back until now. The food is still delicious, the service is still great. read more

Ordered pick up. Got a Vietnamese coffee, vermicelli bowl with shrimp and chicken and the shrimp spring rolls. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious and sweet. The shrimp spring rolls were ok. The amount of peanut sauce I was given was not enough to eat with the roll and left me desiring more. The vermicelli bowl was ok for the price. They only gave me 4 shrimp and the amount of chicken is ok. Flavor was there though. read more

Phoenix Noodle House has been here for ages and despite the changes they keep chugging along. Open relatively late for the area and a Vietnamese restaurant, it's a nice stop after an early movie. Staff has always been great and dependable and the Pho always hits the spot. Also had a decent selection of menu items and haven't had any issues with appetizers such as the spring rolls but you really can't enjoy this place without a nice bowl of pho. They have setting on the upper and lower levels but haven't checked out the upper level in ages. Restaurant is nice and clean. Only issue with this plane is that I wish it was open later and maybe the on street parking. Definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in downtown Modesto. read more

My man loves Phoenix Noodle house so much that he has us going every Saturday Morning when he gets off from his night shift. The staff is diligent and attentive without being overbearing. The food is always incredible. The ambiance is nice and mellow. 10/10 Recommend. read more

We stopped by for dinner and the first thing I noticed is that the string beans that were brought to the table were so fresh! We ordered the shrimp spring roll and pho. Everything tasted good and the medium size pho was the perfect amount for an individual portion. A good amount of meat and noodles in the soup. My only complaint is that the interior of the restaurant seemed very old and outdated. It's a small restaurant with not that many tables. It would serve them well to make some renovations. Other than that, service was great and food was even better. read more

I personally love Phoenix, even way back before Guy Fieri came to visit. The number 6 small is usually my go to, or not, a vermicelli bowl. Came here on a Friday night and it was great. Spring rolls were good, pho was good. The only thing that was odd to me was they have a surcharge fee with anyone who pays with credit card. I think it's 3.5% or something like that. I guess they want folks to pay in cash instead? Weird. Food is great though. I guess I'll start bringing cash then. read more

This is my 7th visit to Phoenix Noodle House, and it's still my favorite pho place! The broth is always rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous every single time. The staff are friendly and welcoming -- they always make you feel like a regular. You can really taste the care that goes into every bowl. Order pork shop, prawns and egg roll with rice. Also started off with the spring roll with pork & shrimp. Homemade peanut dipping sauce is delicious. The pork chop was huge, with 4 shrimps skewered. Side of fish sauce. Also served with pickled carrots, lettuce and cucumber. Everything was hot on arrival (door dash) and very tasty. By far the best Pho Restaurant in Modesto. read more

Delicious Mongolian Beef! Generous portion of beef. The egg rolls are crunchy and delicious. Always friendly service.

I would highly Recommend ordering rare steak pho. Very good. Customer service Great, kind people.

Pretty satisfying. Tried eating in and to-go. Both were reliable. They get a ton of to-go orders so it could be a few to 10 min wait for your soup to come out, but I get it. Pho noodles were not overcooked and had a good chewy bite. Spring rolls were average/good. Won Ton Hu Tieu. Clean broth. Couple shrimps, roast pork, shredded white chicken, and good amount of pork wontons. Egg noodles or regular pho rice noodles (not the thick wide rice noodle like other places might do). Toss in some straight fish sauce (not the dipping sauce) and you amp up the seafood-y flavor. read more

The service is great honestly. They are very welcoming and seat you as quick as they can. The food is one of the better pho places in Modesto for sure. They do have blood broth and rice noodles which is a nice staple. Their Thai tea is light and refreshing. There is a seperate seating area at the top of the stairs which is nice to get away from people if it's packed but the roof is kind of low up there. Will have to try this place again to see their other options. read more

I've been meaning to try this for awhile now, and I finally had the opportunity to. First off, it was super quick to get seated and even get my food at 11:30. I was able to enjoy my meal because of the speedy process. Aside from the service, I was looking forward to trying their pho specifically to compare other spots I've been to in Modesto. I think that it had a different flavor that was more rich than what I've had before. Also, their thai iced tea with boba is very delicious! It is on par with the Thailand Restaurant here in downtown Modesto. I will definitely be returning here to try their other dishes. read more

Honestly, I used to love coming here for dinner with friends and family, I have come in twice in the last month and both times have been less than favorable experiences, I do think it comes from a lot of immaturity of people working at the front desk, I was placed on a hold when calling to place a togo order and was able to listen to the employees complaining about the sudden rush of customers and it wasn't a conversation I cared to hear, before my call my disconnected, so I called again to only be met between someone else who was clearly not thrilled to be taking orders.... I still ordered and was told roughly 30 minutes, we I arrived at the 35 minute mark and sat until 45 minutes came, then upon checking out since I had to be the "difficult customer" this time, everyone behind the counter was shooting smirks at eachother as if there was something comical about pissing your customers off.... I still love you guys.... But today's experience was a 0/10 read more
