Came once many years ago when I had first moved down here. It was a very cold and wet day, but my cousin insisted we come. She said it was the best pho she has ever had. Up until that point I was not well versed on what pho was. I absolutely loved it and for some reason didn't come back until now. The food is still delicious, the service is still great.

I heard about this place for a long time and we happened to be in Modesto just down the road, so we stopped by for dinner. This place is really tiny. The bottom level had some tables that were put together to make a large table and maybe 3 other tables. They asked if we wanted to sit upstairs and I said it was fine and up there there was about four tables. I was ready to give this place 5 stars, but I did take a star off first service. When we were sat and asked what we wanted to drink and I started with my drink first and then I ordered for my daughters, the waitress asked me again what I wanted and I was confused. I told her again and then she went on her way. When it came to ordering, I asked for the chicken wing appetizer, pork chow fun and a large #1 pho with two small bowls, so that we could share. After I ordered, she asked me what size pho I wanted. Our drinks arrived, but my 10-year-olds drink was a lot larger than the other drinks we had ordered, which we weren't expecting. The chicken wings came first. We ordered them mild and I will tell you, those were some of the best chicken wings I've ever had...the sauce is sweet, the wings are crisp, but still moist. Definitely will go back and try this in a medium level. The pork chow fun looked a little bit different than what I was used to, but it tasted pretty good. It came with cabbage, broccoli, cilantro and a few other vegetables. The pho came out and the broth smelled really good and I started adding my sauces, but then realize that we did not receive a plate with any of the vegetables. Being seated upstairs, it's really hard to get the attention of your server who is downstairs. When she finally came upstairs, I told her we did not receive any of the vegetables and she went down and brought us a plate that had 3 slices of jalapeno, a pile of bean sprouts and one lime for the 3 of us. No basil whatsoever. At that point I didn't want to ask for anything else, so I let it go. A different server came upstairs and told us to take our time and had placed the bill on the table and I asked for some to go containers, she brought it promptly and then the other server had come and asked if we needed boxes when the boxes and the bag were already sitting on the corner of the table. We will definitely go back in give it another go and hopefully the service is a little bit better because I would love to give this place a 5 star review.

Ordered pick up. Got a Vietnamese coffee, vermicelli bowl with shrimp and chicken and the shrimp spring rolls. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious and sweet. The shrimp spring rolls were ok. The amount of peanut sauce I was given was not enough to eat with the roll and left me desiring more. The vermicelli bowl was ok for the price. They only gave me 4 shrimp and the amount of chicken is ok. Flavor was there though.

Place is a little hole in the wall, mostly clean - bathroom not great . Marissa was extremely helpful which was nice. She explained what we asked about. Food was good , Shrimp rolls fresh , chicken wings outstanding - pho was good - broth could have been a little richer .

Phoenix Noodle House has been here for ages and despite the changes they keep chugging along. Open relatively late for the area and a Vietnamese restaurant, it's a nice stop after an early movie. Staff has always been great and dependable and the Pho always hits the spot. Also had a decent selection of menu items and haven't had any issues with appetizers such as the spring rolls but you really can't enjoy this place without a nice bowl of pho. They have setting on the upper and lower levels but haven't checked out the upper level in ages. Restaurant is nice and clean. Only issue with this plane is that I wish it was open later and maybe the on street parking. Definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in downtown Modesto.

We stopped by here for lunch yesterday. We ordered spring rolls, Mongolian beef rice plate and wonton egg noodles soup. Everything tasted good. My boyfriend doesn't like spicy food but he likes the Mongolian beef even though it was too spicy for him. Overall food was delicious. Service here was nice and friendly.

We stopped by for dinner and the first thing I noticed is that the string beans that were brought to the table were so fresh! We ordered the shrimp spring roll and pho. Everything tasted good and the medium size pho was the perfect amount for an individual portion. A good amount of meat and noodles in the soup. My only complaint is that the interior of the restaurant seemed very old and outdated. It's a small restaurant with not that many tables. It would serve them well to make some renovations. Other than that, service was great and food was even better.

I personally love Phoenix, even way back before Guy Fieri came to visit. The number 6 small is usually my go to, or not, a vermicelli bowl. Came here on a Friday night and it was great. Spring rolls were good, pho was good. The only thing that was odd to me was they have a surcharge fee with anyone who pays with credit card. I think it's 3.5% or something like that. I guess they want folks to pay in cash instead? Weird. Food is great though. I guess I'll start bringing cash then.

This is my 7th visit to Phoenix Noodle House, and it's still my favorite pho place! The broth is always rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous every single time. The staff are friendly and welcoming -- they always make you feel like a regular. You can really taste the care that goes into every bowl. Consistent quality, great service, and a cozy atmosphere -- this place never disappoints!

Located in McHenry village, next to the postal annex, I've seen Konfucious Eats whenever I drive…read moreon Briggsmore. I never was interested in going there for years since it's been there but decided to try it tonight. Firstly, the ramen place holds maybe 40 at most and we had to wait a while before we were seated. They asked if we had a reservation but didn't think that it would be needed since it's not like a fancy restaurant and I don't know many ramen places that takes reservations. Since we didn't , we got seated on the bar which is fine. For it being in Modesto, they try to get the anime vibe with toys and anime art around. I'm no ramen expert but I've tried over a dozen ramen places in Tokyo, Vancouver, Japan town in LA, San Francisco, Oahu, Seattle just to name a few cities. So we got first the spicy garlic edamame. Not bad at all, had a kick to it and was edible. From a scale of 1 to 5. I'd give it a 5. For the main entree, I wanted the garlic tonkatsu but the waitress said they ran out.... Ok, for a Saturday night at 6 pm, running out of a ramen and they've been in business for several years now?!? never had that happen before in any ramen shop I've been to. So me and my wife both got the Ichiraku ramen which was a miso broth with pork belly. Price $23. I added 2 more pork belly at $5 more. Oh, the waitress mentioned no bamboo shoots and no fish cake........ ok, never had that happen before in a ramen shop. So while eating edamame, I kept track of how long it took we got our ramen.... It took 30 minutes before we got our ramen... definitely atypical to wait that long wait but I guess it's because they offer a lot of items besides ramen. Presentation was fine, the pork belly was seared on one side with a blow torch since I can taste that searing. . It just had green onions, 2 seaweeds and 2 soft boiled eggs which I was impressed the yolk wasn't overcooked. The noodles I chose was thin and was good with a soft texture. The miso broth was average Over all, it was an okay ramen. Me and my wife both didn't finish our bowls... definitely unusual since we love ramen but somehow, it didn't fulfill our satiety to finish and be content. I can tell you that of all the ramen places I've been to. This is average and doesn't compare to Ramen 101 in Modesto that I've ordered many times before my first time here. Sadly, I can only give it 3 stars because the ramen was average and not in the same league as other ramens I've had in other places and cities. And if me and my wife couldn't finish our ramen, that's a tell tale sign it was just okay. Plus, the place is called Konfucius Eats, doesn't have a Japanese name for a restaurant since "Confucius " is a Chinese Philosopher lol. In fact, I didn't see any Japanese or Asian cooks... just saying that's atypical to the other ramen establishments I've been to. For Modesto, it's aight. I just can't see myself going back here for a long time. Lastly, they are open Tuesday to Saturday only .
