    Albacore Carpaccio
    Tiffany H.

Small restaurant in a strip mall. Went for lunch right after they opened and it was pretty busy with only a couple tables open. Prices are high for the amount. Got the albacore carpaccio to start. Only 5 small slivers of fish. Then I ordered the sukiyaki for my meal. It was served piping hot. Subtle flavor. Decent amount of meat that was kinda chewy. Took 30 plus minutes for food to come out but it had good flavor and the server was nice

I only remember the roll closest to the bottom of the photo (BECAUSE IT WAS BOMB!) The Kryptonite Roll

The sushi was delicious. The service was prompt. The prices were decent. My only qualm is the strong smell of acetone from the nail salon next door! It was hard to stand it until my senses adjusted... however, having to breathe it in throughout dinner can't be good!

The first and last time i will be going to this restaurant as a DINE in ONLY. We arrived at the Restaurant at 3:37pm we were a party of three adults with a toddler was told it would be a 30 min wait; had no problem placed our phone number and name to be called while we waited we walked around the plaza. Once we received the call at 3:59 pm the hostess cleared the table and placed a high chair for my son which was great. Intimate Setting: The restaurant has limited seating, which contributes to a more personal and intimate dining Then we waited for another roughly additional 5 MIN; waiter brought in plates napkins and TWO sets of utensils for TWO of the THREE adults to use without bringing in any chopsticks ( we had seen all other tables have them without even requesting them). waiter did not even ask if we wanted anything to drink or better yet GIVEN US THE MENU so we could order our food. so for the time we waited we used our phones to get a rough idea of what they offer and see what we would like to order. Once we were given our menu it was an additional 10 min wait;once those were set she FINALLY asked if there was anything that we would like to order to drink; we ended up ordering a water and two hot green teas. after we had placed our order the hostess let us know it is a bit of a wait since there was only one Itamae in right now and the wait is a bit longer then expected, not a problem. during our dining another Itamae arrived shortly. once food arrived it had a beautiful presentation with ambient flavor to match each dish. throughout our meal NO ONE checked in on us until roughly 45 mins in, we had asked for two additional waters (which those were never delivered to our table even after we were given the check) once our waiter came back for the second time she refilled my ONE water again we asked for waters for the other two adults at this time and placed our to GO Orders. I had ordered two additional sushi rolls to go and Escolar (Butterfish) SASHIMI but the waitress had placed in the order as NIGIRI two completely different things (this was seen after i had paid gotten home and placed my child to sleep we were just so tired from the wait time.) for the TO GO ORDERS we waited an additional 45 MIN even though the hostess claimed it would be around 20 MIN, when that time passed my husband had left the restaurant to go change our child's diaper in the car since the restuarants bathroom did not have a changing table to which took him 15 minutes to go back in to the restaurant and at this time we had already waited 35 MIN, when we received our order an additional 10 minutes had passed we were in the 45min mark at this time. for appetizers we ordered two Veggie Tempura, 2 california rolls and Spicy Edamame as for the meal we ordered; + Sukiyaki The First Impression: The dish arrives in a traditional pot, steam rising with that unmistakable sweet-savory aroma of a classic warishita broth--a rich blend of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. The Beef: The star is the thinly sliced beef. It's supossed to be incredibly tender, having simmered just long enough to soak up the dark, umami-rich broth without losing its texture. but that was not the case for me The Textures: Every bite is a different experience. You get the snap of the fresh napa cabbage and onions, the earthy, meaty chew of the shiitake mushrooms, and the silky "slurp" of the glass noodles that have turned dark and flavorful from absorbing the soup. The Tofu: The silken tofu is a highlight; it acts like a sponge, releasing a burst of hot, savory liquid the moment you bite into it. + Black Tunder Roll Filling: The core of the roll features shrimp tempura, fresh asparagus, and cream cheese. Toppings: It is topped with BBQ eel (unagi) and tempura flakes for added crunch. Sauce: The roll is finished with the restaurant's special sauce, typically a savory-sweet glaze. +Crunchy Eel Roll The Filling: It is built with a core of unagi (BBQ eel), shrimp, cream cheese, and avocado. The Crunch: Unlike standard rolls, this entire roll is deep-fried, then topped with tempura flakes, onion, and sesame seeds for maximum crispness. Garnish: It is finished with a pop of texture from tobiko (fish roe). Sauces: The roll is generously drizzled with both eel sauce (sweet-savory) and the restaurant's signature crazy sauce +King Fish Roll The Core: The interior of the roll features a blend of three popular raw fish--Salmon, Maguro (tuna), and Hamachi (yellowtail)--paired with crisp cucumber for added texture. Toppings: The roll is finished with slices of creamy avocado and a garnish of tobiko (flying fish roe). + Tonkotsu Ramen (a rich comforting velvety broth) The dish is served as a complete meal with several traditional toppings: Pork Chashu: Tender, perfectly sliced pork belly is a key component. Egg: A seasoned egg is included. Vegetables & Garnishes: The bowl is topped with menma (bamboo shoots), fish cakes, corn, sesame seeds, and green onions.

You have to try this spot! I'm the kind that sticks to the safe sushi, like the california roll. however, we step out of our comfort and tried the kryptonite roll and it was AMAZING. even better than the dragon roll (which i consider safe). the service was great, our waitress was really nice! will be coming back!

My husband was craving sushi so we decided to give this fantastic restaurant a try. Everything we ate was delicious. We started off with a little bowl of miso soup it was so good, it definitely hit the spot, since it was raining and cold outside. We had a few appetizers that consisted of the tempura sampler plate. It had broccoli pieces, shrimp, sweet potato slices, and onion rings. We all devoured the tempura sampler plate. Then we had some fried calamari and it came with a tasty dipping sauce. It paired very well with the calamari. We alsoordered a few rolls and they were superb. The dragon roll was so delicious that we ordered a second roll. I was debating on ordering their ramen soup, but I figured I could get it next time we come back. Since we were all in the mood to try out a few rolls. Overall this place is a gem with fantastic food and outstanding customer service. Definitely a place we all look forward to eating at again.

I like the Ramen that we get I think it's the Sun Katsu Ramen, and then make it spicy. The pork is really soft and really good. The pork chop or whatever it's called and then the eggs are good. The corn is good. I don't like the bamboo shoots, but I just move them to the side and then the spicyedamame is good too and then I think we got the volcano roll and the dynamite room and those are my favorite and and the beers. Kind of took a long time for us to get the beer, but it was OK cause it was just one beer that we got each and it's cold in there but it's like a nice vibe and I got there a lot with my wife

I love love coming here! The best sushi ever! So fresh and delicious! This time we got the rainbow roll along with the other regular rolls we always get when we come by! The servers are friendly and speedy. Chef was a young guy that did great and is quick. It is a small place and cozy.

We had such a great experience. We celebrated my Grandsons 16th Birthday in May of this year. There were 7 of us. Service was excellent, as was the sushi rolls. We ordered quite a few so it was a little bit of a wait but worth every minute and every dollar. Highly recommend this place. My favorite in Modesto so far.

Is there baked rolls or a baked salmon roll?

Yes! They have all kinds. I believe it's called the lion king and it's baked.

They are listed as an all you can eat buffet. Is there a day they offer a buffet?

Never have seen a buffet. But call them, they are very nice people!

I never was interested in going there for years since it's been there but decided to try it tonight. Firstly, the ramen place holds maybe 40 at most and we had to wait a while before we were seated. They asked if we had a reservation but didn't think that it would be needed since it's not like a fancy restaurant and I don't know many ramen places that takes reservations. Since we didn't , we got seated on the bar which is fine. For it being in Modesto, they try to get the anime vibe with toys and anime art around. I'm no ramen expert but I've tried over a dozen ramen places in Tokyo, Vancouver, Japan town in LA, San Francisco, Oahu, Seattle just to name a few cities. So we got first the spicy garlic edamame. Not bad at all, had a kick to it and was edible. From a scale of 1 to 5. I'd give it a 5. For the main entree, I wanted the garlic tonkatsu but the waitress said they ran out.... Ok, for a Saturday night at 6 pm, running out of a ramen and they've been in business for several years now?!? never had that happen before in any ramen shop I've been to. So me and my wife both got the Ichiraku ramen which was a miso broth with pork belly. Price $23. I added 2 more pork belly at $5 more. Oh, the waitress mentioned no bamboo shoots and no fish cake........ ok, never had that happen before in a ramen shop. So while eating edamame, I kept track of how long it took we got our ramen.... It took 30 minutes before we got our ramen... definitely atypical to wait that long wait but I guess it's because they offer a lot of items besides ramen. Presentation was fine, the pork belly was seared on one side with a blow torch since I can taste that searing. . It just had green onions, 2 seaweeds and 2 soft boiled eggs which I was impressed the yolk wasn't overcooked. The noodles I chose was thin and was good with a soft texture. The miso broth was average Over all, it was an okay ramen. Me and my wife both didn't finish our bowls... definitely unusual since we love ramen but somehow, it didn't fulfill our satiety to finish and be content. I can tell you that of all the ramen places I've been to. This is average and doesn't compare to Ramen 101 in Modesto that I've ordered many times before my first time here. Sadly, I can only give it 3 stars because the ramen was average and not in the same league as other ramens I've had in other places and cities. And if me and my wife couldn't finish our ramen, that's a tell tale sign it was just okay. Plus, the place is called Konfucius Eats, doesn't have a Japanese name for a restaurant since "Confucius " is a Chinese Philosopher lol. In fact, I didn't see any Japanese or Asian cooks... just saying that's atypical to the other ramen establishments I've been to. For Modesto, it's aight. I just can't see myself going back here for a long time. Lastly, they are open Tuesday to Saturday only .

Everyone is seated with their own individual hot pot plate to build their own individual hot pot. (Don't worry it does not burn). You choose your basic soup broth, choose the meat you would like, and then start grabbing things off the conveyor belts! It not only is a fun concept, you can get quite creative with how you build your hot pot and choose just the things to your liking. I was amazed that they had very authentic Chinese ingredients to choose from - wood ear, enoki mushrooms, bok choy, different kinds of noodles, fish balls, Napa cabbage, octopus, and lots of different varieties of selfish, plus much much more! I chose the traditional broth and they even had Chinese red dates in it plus wolfberries (sometimes known as Goji berries) in the broth just like what I grew up with The service was just ok, since it was our first time there we had to ask a lady to show us what we were supposed to do. She was helpful, but the servers don't come around very often. That said, the plates and dishes clutter up really fast and they don't come around very often to clear the dishes, for which I would have taken a star off.
