Best Thai food we've had in a long time and we just had some in Turlock day before yesterday.

    28. Tom Kha Kai Soup ? I think it was this. I forgot- sorry!

No joke, it's my go-to Thai spot in Modesto, and my go-to downtown restaurant. I love this place. From its food, to the service, to the ambiance. I think I've tried all the appetizers and there's not one I don't like. The curries are my absolute fav. Although I've tried the stir fry dishes as well and the soups. Again, all super yummy dishes. Price is reasonable. The service is great too and I absolutely love how they give candies towards the end :) The area might not be the greatest with minimal parking, but there's a parking garage right behind.

It's been almost a year since eating their fantastic food, so I re-installed GrubHub and went ahead and satisfied my cravings. After reading about another Yelper's love for their drug-like peanut sauce, I ordered their Chicken Satay with extra peanut sauce. I almost cried when I spilled the extra sauce to eat with leftovers the next day! Their House Pad Thai, Beef Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, and Tom Kha Kai Soup all satisfied our family--all 10/10.

We came to eat for dinner after having late appointments . We don't know this area but my wife wanted good Thai . Found this place in YELP and took a chance. The service was good, servers were nice and helpful with the menu and we were not rushed even though it was dinner time and lots of people . The good was delish . We had to tell our friends who live not far they need to come

Spring rolls with shrimp and wonton soup.

I had their wonton soup which was absolutely fantastic. I also had their fresh spring rolls with shrimp and peanut sauce. Both very tasty! I'm going back today!!

5 stars from me... from the service, the Thai tea and pad Thai everything was wonderful. The staff was beyond attentive and friendly. The portions are generous (had so much left over). I've been searching for a good Thai place in town and was striking out left and right. So glad my cousin introduced me to this place. I already can't wait to go back!

I had lunch with a friend today at Thailand Restaurant. He commented on how wonderful the service is! He loved the food too, but he felt that they were the perfect combo of being attentive, without being overbearing. I had most of my usual foods, and I tried the General Tso's Chicken dish. I quite enjoyed it! To my surprise (because I am so picky), I loved the flavor of the sauce and the crispness of the chicken. It was slightly crunchy, but that was my favorite part! Since we dined in for lunch, we received salads (the dressing is delicious, it is a light honey mustard). We sat in the back, because it was quiet, and we had a table all to ourselves. I'm sure if there was a large party, this would not be possible. However, they accommodated us today and I was grateful! All-in-all, I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Went here with a group of cousins. Parking can be a problem as it is downtown Modesto. They do have spots in front of you are lucky. Or there is a parking lot to the left. And also a parking garage that takes 5$ cash on the back side of the restaurant. When you walk In. A nice ambience. Their menu is huge. Literally like a book. So many options to order from. Our table we ordered the orange chicken. Garlic pepper. Sweet and sour. BBQ pork. Pad Thai. Spicy noodles. I ordered the spicy noodles veggie style. It was okay. I'm not sure I would order it again and I def would not order their chicken. Ever again. BBQ pork was good and everyone who ordered the pad Thai cleaned up their plates. I would like to go again just to try other items on their menu as I feel like I did not order the right thing.

Interested in trying this place. Are there good vegan choices?

There are great vegan choices. I recommend specifying you want it vegan and they'll ask you all the right questions! Particularly with the broth-based dishes and some of the drinks they will sub any added dairy with coconut milk only.

I also LOVE their fried bananas as a treat occasionally. We always get great service and the ladies are always so nice. The restaurant is nice and quiet even when it's semi full, my bf and I like to eat dinner early so it's usually empty. They have a full bar, booths around the outside of the room and in the middle are tables and chairs. I wish I had a picture of my Crispy Rama Noodles but alas, I do not. But you should absolutely check them out!!!

From the food to the service to the cozy atmosphere, everything is consistently top-notch. Garlic Fried Rice - So flavorful and fragrant! The texture is just right soft without being mushy and the egg is cooked perfectly. It paired beautifully with the moo yang. Moo Yang - Thinly sliced, tender, and packed with flavor. The dipping sauce on the side adds a nice touch without overpowering it. Thai Tea - Creamy, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Just the way I like it. Drunken Noodles - OBSESSED. So light but full of flavor. The veggies are crisp and fresh, not soggy like at other places. I love that these aren't heavy on soy sauce like most spots around here. They're generous with the basil, and the noodles are super aromatic and delicious. It's hard to describe how good they are you just have to try them. The spice level is also on point, but they'll adjust it to your liking. Shrimp Tom Yum Soup - We ordered a small and it was the perfect size for sharing, with some left over. They even brought out little bowls for us. The broth had that ideal mix of sour, savory, and spicy comforting and flavorful. Water - Yes, I'm reviewing the water because it's that good. Ice cold, super refreshing, and served in real glasses not warm water in plastic cups like some places. It makes a difference when you're eating spicy food! The service is always amazing. The staff is so sweet and welcoming, and since it's family-owned, they really get to know you. The girls already know our order! I also love how spacious the restaurant is you're not crammed in next to other tables. If you're looking for incredible Thai food in Modesto, this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

Decor is very minimalistic but clean in appeaeance. Menu had numerous photos of dishes they offer to give customers an idea of what it looks like and its description. We ordered Chicken satay as an appetizer. It was a good portion of char grilled chicken breast along with white toast and their peanut sauce and cucumber relish. 5 stars Pad Thai with beef- presentation was good. The taste was fine but something about it, didn't make me overwhelmingly eat a lot of it. My wife liked it so I'll give it 4 stars. Pineapple fried rice with chicken- good portion size (we had leftovers). Has a sweetness to it but was expected. 4 stars BBQ Pork - another good portion size that was on a bed of lettuce and served with sticky rice in a foil along with some hot chili sauce. This was my fav because of the char grilled taste and spiciness. 5 stars Wife got a cup of Tom Yum soup with prawns. She liked it with its sour taste to it. 5 stars For dessert, they ran out of the fried banana so tried their sticky rice with vanilla ice cream (Thaibury Khao Tum Mut- Very tasty with coconut milk tasting sticky rice. Good price and portion. 5 stars Overall, great meal and we had lots of leftovers. If I was to remove one item it would be the pineapple rice and stick with plain rice to enjoy the flavors.

But as someone who has worked as a server and in operations for big restaurant groups, the entire place needs some retraining. Food: Overall we had 1 good dish - their pad-eggplant. Noodle dishes were clumpy. Rice = HORRIBLE. Dry and not fresh. Their salads were not great, and overall the quality does not equate to the price. Service: This place cannot handle a large table. Anything over 3 people is probably a stretch for them. We had a reservation for Mother's Day, and when we came in there were only 2 tables who were at the end of their meal already. They paid and left. Tables were coming in, but we were able to place our order prior to it getting busy. The restaurant is pretty full now, all the tables that come after us are eating or have eaten, and have paid and left. We had a few appetizers and nothing. I ask the servers why this is, and my answer is that they are processing other orders, processing to-go orders, and then the chef wants to make our dishes all at the same time. Our food never comes at the same time. There's anywhere from 10 mins in between each plate, meaning majority of the time we were eating 1-2 bites then just waiting. Stir fry dishes given without serving spoons or rice, tom yum soup given without bowls. Near the end of the meal, we are still sitting there waiting for the remaining dishes and nothing. We asked for the dishes - looks like they forgot. We just ask them to cancel it and then get us the check. One time I asked for the soup bowls, she said yes and left. Then went to help with delivery pickup and to seat people. Completely forgot until I asked her again. Another time I asked for some additional plates, the other server said she would get it and then left and completely forgot, I had to ask again. We asked for egg on the side since my niece is allergic and never got the egg. I had to ask for that and my other niece ended up eating the plain egg with rice because she was hungry. There was an issue between the front of house and back of house and until they can get that figured out, they should turn off their ordering system. If they are a sit down restaurant, they need to ensure they can prioritize the folks they are charging an automatic 20% service fee from. It sucked because we went to celebrate my mom and we all ended up leaving hungry and annoyed.

This place had good reviews so I was excited since I haven't had great Vietnamese food in Fresno. Was hoping this would be a treat. But it wasn't. Service wasn't great. No one ever checked on us to see if we needed anything. It wasn't crazy busy in there either since we there at off hours. Ambiance is standard for this kinda place. Whatever. Pretty big menu tho. Decided to do appetizers for dinner. ORDER: Crispy Crab Cakes: There was no discernible crab in them. Not even fake crab. No real flavor inside. It just tasted of overly greasy crust. But it was crispy I'll say. Choked down 1 & gave up. Fried Rolls: Normally the thing I love most at Vietnamese restaurants. This was mushy inside & bland. Pork & Shrimp Spring Roll: Wasn't filled very much. Like barely there noodles. One section I ate had none but had white radish strips, so I thought it was just lettuce, pork, shrimp & radish. I don't like a ton ton of noodles but it needed triple the amt to be an avg amt of noodle. The best thing about this was the peanut sauce. I give them high marks for their peanut sauce. Fried got pork vermicelli & shrimp spring rolls. Her high praise was "they gave a lot of meat." But otherwise her reaction was "it's ok." Other friend got garlic butter chicken wings. I had one. There was no garlic flavor on the wings but there was a bit of garlic & onion on the plate w/them. Otherwise, they tasted like naked wings. I like naked wings & admit they were cooked well. She also got brisket & flank pho w/out noodles. She said meat was tender & delicious. I really really wanted to like them more than I did. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time I've ever reviewed something where I gave less than 4 stars. Not my cup of tea, but glad they seem to have found their audience since they don't have poor reviews overall. Happy for them. Still on the quest for good Central Valley Vietnamese!
