Just ate here and I have to say it was great. My daughter is vegetarian and we are always trying to find veggie friendly places to eat with an expansive menu that doesn't just serve soup, salad, and a veggie burger. This place has those as well BUT they have a lot of other vegan options. We chose the TNK Club sandwich and it was so good! My daughter was excited to try vegan ham and bacon and it did not disappoint. She literally ate the whole thing! The serving sizes are nice and plentiful. We got a strawberry lemonade and that tasted so natural. Not too sweet. The location was easy to find. Parking is a bit of a hassle but there are parking spots nearby. You can order at the window or on the kiosk. The service was friendly and fast. The outdoor seating is small but plenty of shade. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone! read more

VEGAN REVIEW Came here for lunch-- had the tuna sandwich, which was SO GOOD. Comes with a healthy serving a hot crispy fries (couldn't even finish them!) I ordered at a kiosk, though there is a window you can interact with a human. Food comes out pretty quickly, friendly service. When I was there, no indoor seating (but seems like it's available sometimes) The menu is varied for such a small establishment! If I'm ever in Modesto again, I will return read more

We were on our way home from Sacramento heading to Fresno and where wanting lunch. We got to Modesto and looked for a Vegan or Vegetarian place. We got lucky when we found TNK Vegan Cafe. It is little place on the corner. Great all Vegan menu. Lots of choices. Tasty and quick, and we were back on the freeway to home. The lady at the Ordering Window was Very nice and Friendly. Check it out. read more

I've been coming here for about a year now , when I first came I tried their wonton soup and tiramisu dessert and I fell in love with the taste and ambiance of the place , it's a cute little spot on the corner of downtown so it's not super hectic , you can come here and sit down and eat and watch the traffic pass by with the park across the street , they decorate very nice with cute plants and there's menus up to read everything easily , the owners are very kind hard workers , tip them when you can :) there's a bathroom + parking 10/10 spot I love it a lot , delicious food , good views & good service , they also have an inside room if you're too cold outside ! Searched the area for veggie places to eat on my way to Yosemite and came across this gem! Drove 20 min out of my way to try it out, as I needed to get a good meal before heading out into nature with nothing but my snack bars and fruit and canned beans. lol It was such an adorable place! Lovely outside seating! Lovely customer service and lovely food! Highly recommend trying it! So glad I found it and will be back in my next trip! read more

Amazing food that touches your soul. Had the best vegan chow mein in the US and chicken gravy and avocado smoothie. Everything tasted great. The lady at the counter also gave us some organic grape juice from the grapes grown at her home, which I thought was very sweet. Thank you, can't wait to be back! read more

I've become a regular. I eat here about once a week. I would come more often if it was closer to home. If you asked me to name some negatives about TNK, it might be that the menu is small, and it would be nice if there were some other things to choose from. How about a tofu banh mi?! The only other negative is the reliance on plastic and paper takeout. The cafe is a small, two person operation. There simply is not room or staff available to wash dishes. I just wish I wasn't putting my containers in the landfill after every delicious meal. Still my favorite place in Modesto. Good karma at TNK! read more

Soon after my June 20, 2024 4-star review, the restaurant messaged these things that lead me to improve the rating to 5-star: "our utensils we are using premium Eco table wares All disposable cornstarch biodegradable tableware we never using regular plastic and also our Togo bags we are using Thank you earth BIO -ENSO bags" Here is what my original previous review said: " Today is my second day eating here. The food is yummy, portions are decent. Price is slightly high price, like most any restaurant or café meals these days. Outdoor seating only, which is right by a pretty busy street, which might be a little noisy for some people. However, about 100 yards away is a nice park that looks like it would be nice to take the food over to and relaxing. I wish there was a way to see what the various artificial meat items on the menu are made of. I recommend the place :)" read more

Everything here is vegan. My favorite dish to order is "Mongolian beef". If you like spicy let them know how spicy on a scale from 1 to 10. I haven't tried above 8 but I'm tempted. The "beef" is seitan and flavored up!!! Mmmmmm so good with a big scoop of rice. The beef is accompanied with celery slices, a few bell peppers and onions resting on a bed of lettuce. Apparently I get a specific smile when I'm planning on ordering there because my coworker used to say I know where your going for lunch today. read more

I ordered a massive buffet to cater my son's birthday. The price was reasonable and there was SO MUCH FOOD! We had Mongolian Beef and Lemongrass Chicken plus chow mein and spring rolls. This is a 3 star place, but since it's in the middle of nowhere and made for a good pit stop on our drive to SoCal, I'm rounding up. TNK is your typical, mostly Asian, all-vegan cafe that tosses a few American things on the menu. Nothing in particular wows, and they're certainly not going to impress with creativity here, but the food is generally decent and reasonably priced. We split three things: the Cream Cheese Wontons, Mongolian Beef, and the Chow Mein. The filling in the wontons had a weird texture so I wouldn't order those again, the Mongolian Beef was just ok, and the chow mein was good. TNK also provides the ability to have a sit down vegan meal on a patio in an otherwise pointless town better known for famous murders than food. My friend and I enjoyed watching some classic cars drive by as we ate outside. I would stop here and eat again if someone I was with wanted to. read more

With the Central Valley being scarce on good healthy (vegan) options , TNK is a welcomed choice. Located on Needham St. in Modesto, CA., you'll find a cute little bistro with great food, indoor & outdoor seating available. It's family run, so you can feel good about supporting your local small business. Everything is great, but I'm all in for the Mongolian Beef dish! Meatless of course. Hope you find your way to TNK !! read more

The grilled cheese was cooked to perfection and flavor was so so good! The cheesecake was *chefs kiss* we could not believe it was dairy free/vegan! Everything here is SO SO good. If you are vegan, or not- this place is a must try! We took a non vegan friend and they LOVED it. Also, incredibly helpful, sweet, and confident staff. They said they were so sure we'd like the beef dish, that if we didn't, it would be on the house, we loved it! 10/10- will be coming back! read more

Delish Vegan Garlic Brown rice bowl and cream cheese wontons. Usually the best vegan dishes come from our own kitchen, the food here is made like it's from your kitchen. Served hot and quickly; well-seasoned, comforting, and left me wishing I had ordered more, so I'll have to make another trip. The woman behind the counter was very kind and helpful. I was fortunate to be in town when the temperatures were just right, and a community event was being held in the park. The band and the breeze were great. TNK is on the corner of L and 15th Street, this means on street parking - do you care, NO because everything is delicious. Thank you, I will return soon. read more

Had a VERY yummy dinner at TNK Vegan Cafe over the weekend before heading to the State Theatre. Everything here is vegan which is a relief when ordering. There were a lot of choices on the menu that all sounded wonderful which made it hard to decide. I opted for the Mongolian "Beef" and my partner got the Impossible Burger. They were great! I already want more. Ordering was done through a kiosk, but we wanted a few different options. Thankfully, you can also order through the window. The staff inside was friendly and helpful. They have a lovely little outside patio for dining and no inside options. read more

Usually buy 4/5 meals periodically, prices have gone up but the problem was her offering everyone else water except me. Walked to my car to give a cash tip and the card was charged with an additional $13.86 tip. Receipt doesn't show the tip and I didn't appreciate it one bit. read more

Very clean place with a very Vegan/vegetarian menu. The set up was a little strange, you order outside at a window then go into a small room and food is brought out to you. The staff is very friendly and there is a large variety of items. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. Perfect for anyone who is looking for a vegan option. read more

First comes TNK Club Sandwich, then comes love. My husband and I have frequented TNK Vegan Cafe since their Modesto debut. Although we have moved from Stanislaus County to Merced County, we remain ever adamant: TNK Vegan Cafe is worth the drive. The menu boasts a wide variety of options. Of these, my favorites, ranked, include: 6 Spring Rolls, TNK Club Sandwich, TNK Steak Burger, Avocado Smoothie, as well as their Sweet Potato Fries. In addition to offering their fantastic selection, they've also perfected their own in-house dressings, that way your fries are never 'basic'. Did you think being vegan meant you couldn't be fancy? Let TNK Vegan Cafe rectify your archaic misconception; this is 2021. Get your palette in check with one ethical dietary choice at a time. Remember, you've got this. read more

despite the limitations of only 5 days open, available hours, and parking...this place is well worth visiting.

We were meeting our daughter and granddaughters at Graceada Park. Since TNK Cafe is across the street we decided to pick up food and picnic at the park. Three menu is large enough to have varied choices but not big enough to be overwhelming. We ordered egg rolls, a Club Sandwich with salad, another club with fries and a Beefless Burger. You order at a window. They have some tables and chairs outside where we waited for our order. The woman who took our order was very kind. Food was ready fairly quickly. We took it to the park and thoroughly enjoyed our food in the nice setting where the girls had lots to explore and play on. Portions are large. I could actually share a burger and fries with a salad. That would be perfect for me. Some men eating there also recommended a chicken sandwich they had each ordered. Highly recommend TNK Vegan Cafe. It would be enjoyable to eat at one of their outdoor tables, but heading to the park was a great option for us with two toddlers. read more

Three of us were in town for a couple days and were thrilled to find this vegan cafe! We placed a phone order for pick up and the staff was friendly and accommodating to our requests. Portions are generous. The Cashew Chikn was delicious. My friends enjoyed the Spring Rolls and BBQ Chikn Sandwich too. However, the sweet potato fries were too greasy for us. Finding parking might be a challenge during high traffic times. Currently no dine-in due to Covid. Regardless, we'll be back next time we're in town. Thank you so much! read more

I've been a faithful customer since they've opened. Seems like it is never consistent. My boyfriend's son and I both ordered the avocado smoothies, mine was smooth and tasted really good, his has chunks of avocado-which was weird and it didn't taste right. I've order their sweet potato fries a few times, which I had to stop. Once, I start eating them they are still raw and not cooked all the way. One time I tried to call to place an order and I wanted sweet potato fries, I told the girl on the phone, can I get them extra well done the past few times I've ordered them they are raw and not cooked all the way through. She insisted they are cooked and I don't need them extra well done. I cancelled my order and I went to red robin for their sweet potato fries. Last time I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich, I didn't realize with wasn't' a chk'n patty, it was cut up chicken in a sandwich it was beyond messy. The only sandwich that is hands down amazing is their TNK Club. I wish they were open for breakfast... The girl who always takes my order, I feel like she can work on her customer service. She can be a bit rude. This is really the only safe place vegan's can eat toooo. I'm so sad :( read more
