French toast with fresh fruit
Jeremy C.

Tried this place for breakfast. Ordered the fr n h toast with fresh fruit. Some of the best French toast I have ever had. The service was amazing. They kept coming by asking if we needed more coffee or anything else. We sat outside in the center area. So relaxing and peaceful. The place filled up quickly though.

The ambiance is amazing, but the food is lacking. Came here because of several raving recommendations, they really hyped the spot up so I was excited for the most delicious brunch. The place is PACKED, which is a great sign, we waited maybe 30 minutes or so for a table. There's a ton of seating, multiple seating areas both inside and outside, with the inside areas having wide open doors so it's pretty much like outside minus open air overhead. The crowd is a nice mix of all ages... screaming kids included. The menu is small and it wasn't hard to make a decision- in hindsight we should have looked at the menu first before deciding to eat here. I got the Latin Benedict, fiancee got the chilaquiles and they had the same flavor because they were both over saturated in the same sauce. The regular coffee was pretty standard, the El Chapo coffee was a better choice, but someone's gotta do the driving! I think the experience would have been better if we had gotten some of the pretty and colorful alcoholic drinks, cause all those that had them were having a great time. Glad we tried it, but likely won't be coming here again when there's some much better breakfast choices on the same street.

Very good food, cute vibes, great service, nice outdoor patio, adorable cups that were for sale and for a reasonable price! bought 2 of them

This place is so good! I wish I lived closer because they do have limited hours. It's a great place for brunch. The food was perfect and I love that they have Mexican options as well. The restaurant has beautiful indoor and outdoor seating.

We have been going to La Mo for years. My wife meets her friends there often. The place is solid for the atmosphere. Very serene setting and the owner takes pride in the restaurant. Clean and comfortable. Turlock needs more places like this. A little pricey but that's our life here in California. The food is usually on point and consistent. I had the Chili Rellenos today and they were good but I like my cheese melted. Beans, tortillas and rice were great. My wife had the shrimp enchiladas and loved them. She usually gets the iced tea but said that their tea is weak so she passed. My coffee was strong but good. Love the coffee cups. Our server, Benny, was fantastic. Gave good advice when we were debating what to get. Kept the coffee and water full. We will continue to go to La Mo and recommend it to friends and family.

Amazing food. Great ambiance. Service was a little overwhelmed but overall friendly. Amazing brunch. Want to take my family back.

This spot came highly recommend by the girl friend as one of the best brunches in Turlock for one thing, and it's the wedding chicken. Anthony Bourdain once said that if there's something on the menu with cream sauce, get it. I saw that quote a couple weeks ago, and realized it's a rule I've been living by for my whole life. Cream sauce is always the way to go, and the wedding chicken lived up to the hype. Creamy, spicy, flavorful, the sauce makes the dish. It came with chicken, fresh tortillas, rice and beans, and I found it to be really filling. We stared with the queso fundido, and I wasn't blown away by it, and would probs not order again, and just stick with the wedding chicken. The margaritas were tasty and was a refreshing beverage to battle the Central Valley heat. It was busy around 12pm but we were able to get a table in 30 minutes. There was a farmers market outside which made the time fly by. Overall, I'd come here again, just for that wedding chicken. Next time I look forward to trying it as a burrito.

Such a cute place. I had seen this place before but the wait had been too long for the short time we had in this town. Today we made it in lol they sat us down right away seems they expanded since last year. The food was great and my drink even better! Absolutely willing to make the drive to come back here!

I called on Friday to make a reservation for the following evening and was told that reservations are only accepted for parties of ten or more. Although I would have made other arrangements at that point, I was then told that if I called about 30 minutes before arriving, they could put us on a waitlist and have a table ready. I was grateful for that option and followed those instructions. However, when I called 30 minutes before our arrival, the person who answered said they did not offer that option and implied that I had been misinformed. We were told they were fully booked and could not accommodate us. At that point, it was too late to find availability at other restaurants. This was meant to be a special dinner to celebrate my daughter's engagement, and unfortunately, it was disrupted due to conflicting information and lack of accommodation. I was very disappointed with the experience.

The restaurant itself is quite large and they have a good amount of seating. The wait staff have always been exceptional and ensure you enjoy your experience there. This last time I tried the ceviche and I really enjoyed it. There was a strong lime taste to it, but I liked it. Overall, great experience and I can't wait to go back

Holly molly, the chef makes fabulous soups- chicken n rice, vegetable beef soups, milkshakes,…read moreburgers, sandwiches, tasty breakfasts and they only make a vodka bloody mary, mimosas, beer/wine bar counter. Nice portions of food were you can take home. Since I was hungry and my boyfriend had already eaten, we decided to share the 1/2 sandwich and their soup of the day-a bowl of chicken n rice, DELICIOUS. Wonderful friendly helpful waitresses, who are attentive, great customer service, inside and outside seating-weather permitting. Right of Fwy 99 and Main St., in Turlock. Opens at 6:00 am and closes at 3 pm everyday- its a diner, and casual atmosphere! I would highly recommend my family, friends, and new comers. The waitresses are so friendly in Turlock and the cook is so cool. They are all off of Fwy 99 in Hilmar, Ceres and Turlock off of Main St nearby the freeway and and you will see McDonald's on your right side and Hot Rod on your left side facing the freeway. ENJOY! UPDATE: Went again a week ago, and yes the soup was delicious! We learned today that they have a variety of soups of the day. Even the lentil soup was delicious that we decided to take a bowl home to share or not.

I honestly didn't know it was a restaurant for awhile because it is in a awkward area, right next to a auto body shop or something, but with the name hot rod I would assume it was part of the shop. Anyways walking in I will say it was a little eerie because it was very gloomy outside and inside the restaurant was pretty dark. It can use some brightening up. And also we were coming in from the cold hoping for some warmth but the restaurant itself was cold inside. The servers were attentive and very nice. They had a lot more stuff on the menu than I expected. The food was ok, very basic home style cooking. Prices were not bad so overall it was an okay place to eat at. Will I go back, mmm maybe if my son really wants to go.
