I have given this coffee shop sooooo many tries. Attitude and customer service is always going to be horrible. Coffee, never made how you want it. Like others have said, you have to go home and finish making it yourself basically. Don't be fooled by these glowing reviews, all these young girls working there treat *THEIR* friends who come in very well! Which is why they probably have good reviews. I'm assuming the owner doesn't care that his employees horrible customer service which is sad. He had a good thing going at first. Unfortunately today is the last time I will spend my money there. To be specific, the big tall girl working there at 3 PM with her bad attitude. I live in another town north of modesto but come to Turlock every couple weeks to see the best dog groomer. While i wait for my fur baby to be done I pick up coffee at a new place each time. It's a cute little coffee shop with limited seating. On a Sunday morning, the seats were all taken (ok for me, didn't plan on staying). Upon walking in there was no greeting, no" hello, welcome in" by any of the four people standing behind the counter. But that's not why I'm giving it two stars. As I sat and waited for my order to be prepared the person who took my order ('K' name) sat down just behind the register and was on her phone and sucking on her fingertips! She has just boxed my order, I took it and left but won't be eating it because who knows if she'd been nibbling on her hands prior to my order. 1 for my coffee which was good. 1 star for one of the employees who said "bye, have a nice day". read more

I have never tried anything here that I don't like. It's all delicious. Staff is so sweet and understanding. If you don't know what to order, ask them. Never gave a suggestion I didn't take. The food was great. The tiramisu was fresh, one of the best I have had in a long long time! The drinks were pretty good too - I tried the Frida Khalo latte and I liked it. The place is kind of small and crowded - hard to find seats. The service was meh - no smiles or warm welcome feeling. We had 5 people in our group and the cashier kept asking "is that it?" , "is that it?" , "is that it?" after every item we ordered. I felt rushed and a bit uncomfortable. There wasn't even a line fer her to be rushing us like that. We sat outside and it was fine. I decided to stop by on a whim before heading to the farmers market in town since my sister is a fan of this shop. I had some high hopes coming in and was a little disappointed with the service. When we walked in, there was no acknowledgement from any of the baristas at the counter. They kept their conversation going while my sister and I looked at their menu. We decided on what we wanted and it still took a moment for someone to come over. We ordered an Americano and cold brew (added hazelnut and vanilla). Discovered this cozy little coffee shop and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is perfect for hanging out or getting some work done, with a chill vibe and just the right background music. Huge shout-out to the barista for curating a great playlist - it really added to the experience. I wasn't sure what to get, so I asked for a suggestion. I really appreciated that the barista took the time to ask me if I was looking for something more coffee-forward, and recommended a drink that was absolutely delicious. Rise N Brew made me the perfect Lavender Black Iced Tea and Lavender Oatmilk Latte yesterday!!! They were busy at 3 when the kids get out of school and the kids didn't let me park in an empty space. However, when I finally got inside, they greeted me kindly. I have finally found a coffee shop that carries real lavender flavoring. my friend and I got the banana matcha and it came with no ice, basically warm, and bitter. There was no real banana in it which is disappointing for the price. Add in a mushed banana in there and change the syrup because the matcha taste was so bitter I could barely even taste the banana. I had the Tiramisu. It wasn't love at first sip. But hear me out. I had a mindset of what I expected my drink to taste (never having had their drinks) and was underwhelmed as it lacked both sweetness and flavors. I put it away and the next morning I added ice and mixed. Then I was delighted with it. It tasted like coffee with hints of the hazelnut, toppings and just the right sweetness level. The day before was me not the coffee that was off. As for the service it was amazing. End of day and instead of tired of anxious baristas ready to get off work they were super nice, answered questions, offered advice. A bit on the pricy side to be honest for the quality of the coffee they give but it was just okay enough to give them another chance. I decided to give them another shot since I saw they had new staff recently and I went with a signature drink of theirs that is the strawberry matcha. 1/10 When I saw that they used Hersey strawberry syrup and instant matcha I wished I would have just got my money back. Overall I don't recommend the drink at all and will never go back. I'm honestly disappointed at this place. Rumor has it that this place is affiliated or owned by the doctors who work next door and just have this coffee shop for a tax cut for them... if that's the case I rather just make my own at home.. First time going there because every time we pass by I got curious about it so this time I went. Let me say the place is so cute even though it's small but I find it a cute place. It's clean and it's smells good once you go in. Service was great, the woman who attended us was nice and patient to explain what kind of flavors they have and how it's made. As for the drinks, I tried the strawberry matcha. It's good but didn't feel the strawberry flavor, but oh well it's nice and the other drink was good too but a little sweet but I'm glad that the person is nice enough to fix it and it made a difference. I think this might be my new favorite coffee shop in Turlock. Nice little area to study and hang out. Great drinks and food/pastry options. They offer a student discount when you show ID and they offer free wifi. I tried their cold brew with SF vanilla and pesto sandwich and I loved it! I also tried their latte with SF vanilla and it was super good. It is relatively small in here so I'm sure it could get crowded, but I stopped by on a Saturday and Sunday around 11 and it was fine then. Definitely recommend and I will be back! read more

I went to Rise n Brew for the first time today. The store itself is decorated well...an eclectic, welcoming space Ethan makes you want to slow down, sit down and sip a cappuccino. The location has plenty of parking and I'm sure they need it because the coffee and the pastries are wonderful. I ordered a cappuccino and a scone and I absolutely loved them. I found this hidden gem when visiting some family in Turlock. I was searching for something different from Starbucks and Dutch bros. Jessica and Deedee, two excellent employees, welcomed me as soon as I walked through the door. Their upbeat demeanor right out the gate got me into a much better mood. I heard them discussing a coffee drink that sounded amazing when it included toffee, marshmallow, and mocha. I told Jessica that I wanted whatever drink she was referring to when I asked her. The drink was called Campfire Mocha which is not on the menu because they were experimenting with it and let me tell you, they need to put that drink on the menu! So many people in our town get very irritated when they hear another coffee shop is opening. Rise N Brew is the newest addition to our town located near Dutcher Middle School. My husband and I decided to check it out as we love to support locally owned businesses. Upon entering the shop, we were immediately greeted by Marcus. The shop has a few tables for guests to sit and enjoy their orders. We noticed they have a sandwich menu. We were both hungry for lunch since it was after 2:00pm and we had not eaten since early that morning. The sandwiches are made early in the morning and packaged for grab and go. There weren't many choices left, but that is understandable since it was after 2:00pm. We both selected the turkey provolone with pesto sammies on gluten free bread (we are not gluten free, but that is what was available). We both enjoyed the sammies and were full after eating. My husband went there again the next morning upon opening. He said the coffee was much better than a nationally known coffee chain and said he would definitely return. I would love to return for lunch earlier in the day to try some of the other sammies and bevies. Rise N Brew is sure to be a stop when we want to grab a quick drink or bite! read more

They even have a small bookshelf with books you can grab to read while you're there! Both times I've gone there's a fair amount of people hanging out chatting or working. The service is top tier. The folks who work there are friendly, patient, and helpful. I've gotten great recommendations from them. Really enjoyed the Smokey the Bear latte, the Tiramisu latte, and their veggie sandwich on sourdough was toasted perfectly (and had yummy pesto).
