For coffee, I ordered the café de olla and mazapán latte and I was very pleased! My son ordered the caramel mocha - he said it was too bitter, but I am still giving 5 stars. The service was good. I always value a warm welcome and smiles - we got that. We sat outside because inside there is only one table. The coffee shop seems to be inside a mini market. It was nice outside. Many customers. All my love of this place goes to their coffee! I tried the Turkish coffee and the Mazapan Latte, they were both absolutely delicious! I am definitely going to come back to try more on the menu! The crepes were so thin and delicate, perfect batter. The Nutella with Strawberries crepe was the best light sweet snack to pair with a cup of coffee. Café Rome is such a cute spot with really good coffee and a great selection to choose from. I found it while visiting family and looking for something different than the usual chain places. Now, every time I'm in town from the Bay Area, I make sure to walk over with my mom. We usually sit out on the patio, they have a cute little spot that's perfect for relaxing. We were in town shopping for furniture and decided to try this place out since it has good reviews & I love crepes! Overall, it was good. The crepe I chose was the dulce de leche with bananas and strawberries. Service was ok. This is where my stars went down. I walked up super happy to be there because it's my birthday & the day is just getting started. The lady taking my order was polite & made some coffee suggestions. I went for the traditional Cafe de hoya & the crepe mentioned above. I'm new to this place & it was pretty obvious. When my food was ready, I had to come up to the front register to pick it up. Being brought to my table would have been nice. The crepe came with no cutlery, coffee came with no cream or sugar, but I did notice up against the side of the register there's a small spot where sugar & stir sticks are available. So I had to get up again from my table to grab these items. Being told where I could find cutlery, sugar, creamer and such would have been nice. When I asked for creamer, the lady gave me this adorable little Mexican pottery cup with creamer. I think overall, the concept is good for this place, but the execution needs a little work. Even just telling your customers where to find these items would be nice. Anyway, hopefully, the staff just steps it up a bit more. Wishing your business nothing but success! read more

Located in Downtown Turlock sits Café Rome. This quaint little café provides a cute welcoming atmosphere, service, and delicious food! The dark wooden interior reminds me of a cozy cabin. The staff are welcoming and can carry on a great conversation. The menu has great varieties but not enough to overwhelm you. But let's talk crepes... that's their niche, delicious stuffed crepes! I ordered their buffalo chicken crepe. It was stuffed with plenty of grilled chicken slices and smothered with their amazing chipotle sauce. You'll need a fork and knife for that one because you'll want to scoop up all that amazing sauce. Their mocha coffee is also superb. Definitely coming back if I'm ever in the area again! read more

The place was clean and set up well, but could use a bit more warmth in the decor and there was a little bit of the smell of hot oil. It's not easy to make a room like that more inviting, but maybe 1-2 comfortable chairs or some original art from local artists (CSU art students???) and a ceiling fan might help. read more

I used to love this place many years ago when they were in downtown Turlock. Didn't know it was still even open and relocated again so I tried it out and the coffee was terrible we ended up throwing them out after one sip. The matcha I was very excited for is all sugar you can't even take one sip without tasting so the frames of sugar. I even tried adding milk at home. The crepes are good though but I would go elsewhere for coffee. Idk what happened to this place it used to be super trendy and really good. read more

Great little quaint cafe in downtown Turlock. I love that the seating is spaced for private conversations. Baristas were welcoming, helpful and pleasant. Ordered a Rose Latte and a Blended Mocha. They were wonderful and since it was comfy enough to stay a couple hours I had the barista make me a Rose Ice Tea-it wasn't on the menu but the Barista did a fine job creating one for me. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the music was too random in both style and language making it difficult to set a steady atmosphere. Would I visit again? Absolutely!! read more

A really cute small cafe shop. I came here with my dad and he orders the Buffalo crepe and he said it was so good. I ordered a Nutella crepe which as you can see has bananas, chocolate, and strawberries. They give a really good portion size I wasn't too full when I left and I wasn't hungry either. The only thing is the location, sometimes parking is a struggle to find especially downtown but the food was a 10/10. The hubby and I were in town today for a funeral, and since we had some time to spare before the service started- he found Café Rome, for our quick, yummy decent breakfast. Café Rome is located in the heart of Downtown Turlock. There is a small outdoor/patio seating area in the front of the restaurant, but we opted to sit inside since it was a bit chilly out today. The interior is super cute and modern. I enjoyed the industrial, yet warming feel as we walked in. Lucky for us there was no line and we were able to order right away. For breakfast we tried the "Breakfast Crepe." Im a huge fan of crepes, so I had pretty high standards with this one. I would say the Crepe was a bit over cooked and unfortunately the stuffings which included minced pieces of bacon, fresh spinach and shredded cheese- was mainly centered in the center. It would have been nice to have the stuffings spread throughout, but when you're starving -anything tastes amazing! After dripping some Chollula hot sauce, this Crepe was complete. Not bad. For beverages I tried the skinny vanilla latte, which was pretty strong without being overly strong. My hubby's cappuccino was good, per husband. First things first, the atmosphere is nice and the tea is great ! Second, there are not any vegetarian options for savory crepes. I had to ask for an accommodation. The only option I had was a crepe with pesto, cheese and spinach which was off-menu.
