I come here along with my friends & girlfriend for the shows they host here at the queen bean. ‧ I have came to multiple throughout the months and honestly, they have all been very enjoyable. I have made tons of great memories, met new people, and have had lots of fun! :) It is such a good environment to be around, with the sweetest people ever, and for what they stand is impactful & amazing. The area is also very pretty too as well, I love seeing how pretty the lights are at night. For food wise, I haven't had much ~ but the inside is always refreshing to enter after a long hot day and I did have a water (super fresh as well) and shared a chocolate muffin with one of my friends which tasted delish ~ I recommend anyone coming here for a good vibe ^_^ read more

I had a breakfast burrito, I'd say it was a generous portion, grilled on the outside but it was a bit bland. The salsa was also nice but very mild, not a lot of flavor. I think some seasoning or optional hot sauce, salt and pepper on the self serve table would be a nice addition. The staff was absolutely fantastic, very friendly and kind. The inside is cute and clean, outside is modern and had plenty of seating. I also got a double cappuccino and it was delicious and perfect. Cute location. But not worth the price. I spent about $24 and some change. I got a iced coffee and was charged $0.75 for the 16 oz. Mind you, my drink already came with oatmilk. So there was no substitution. The sandwich looked good as I was reading the description of the sandwich. The thing that sold me was their focaccia bread for a sandwich, sounds delicious. This spot has been my to go for few years now. I like coming here to work, it can get vey loud inside when gets packed especially during lunch hours. They also have outdoor seating patio area, front yard, & backyard. I do want to say be aware mosquitoes in back area {sometimes}, but definitely worth going outside. As coffee I have always gotten Azteca Mocha latte, a bit disappointed now that they no longer have shaved Mexican chocolate added on + add cayenne pepper to drink. I know trying new things, however that's bit too extra adding spice to coffee. I always forget to say no cayenne pepper. Luckily staff always willing to remake it. Staff are super friendly and super welcoming Price not bad for a large ice latte On downside parking is limited! Went for a quick coffee and bite to eat with my dad. He ordered the Queen's BLT and I ordered an iced americano with the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich, you get the option between a bagel or croissant base, and then you pick either bacon, sausage, or ham(?). I went with a bagel with sausage (and then of course it has the egg with it and some cheese). It came with a orange wedge. We both loved our food. I had come to the Queen Bean in the past for other drinks and really enjoyed them (I love the iced Geneva the most) but I never came to order food before so I didn't know what to expect. The sandwich was tasty and had a lot of flavor. I've always liked the inside because it feels very cozily decorated. It doesn't feel stuffy or corporate. read more

This place is an absolute gem! The coffee and food are excellent. The atmosphere is unbeatable all of the events from the punk rock shows to the movie nights to the art are so much fun. Every town needs an amazing all ages venue like this for art music and of course coffee. My daughter absolutely loves this place. The Queen Bean is next to her campus so she frequently comes here after class for breakfast. She's also attended night events here , one night they were playing the movie Craft which is super cool! Very laid-back restaurant chill vibes. Great menu! Her favorite sandwich is the chicken pesto on a homemade focaccia bread. She said it's delicious! Also the Queen Bean blt is really good!! My daughter loves the lavender Matcha with honey. I really wanted to like this place because of how adorable it looks but I just didn't. I feel like I'm being nice giving this place 2 stars but it's mainly just because the aesthetic of the little house and patio areas.. The frappe I got tasted like dish water and the customer service is terrible. Very dry stale personalities working here and even dirty looks from one of them.. definitely a zero for service and quality. Also the prices suck for what you have to deal with. I needed to find a coffee shop to take a meeting and that was dog friendly. The Queen Bean Coffee House popped up and it's a nice little coffee house. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The Caesar salad was good. I opted not to add chicken. The salad was hearty and filling. I like the sun dried tomatoes. Sam the owner came out to say hi and see the puppy. He's very nice. They were quite busy when we stopped by. The place itself is pretty unique and they have both indoor and outdoor seatings. There was an open mic going on while we were there in the backyard so listened to the singing a bit while we enjoyed our breakfast. Can't remember the latte I had but it had a Mexican spice and I enjoyed the drink although I didnt taste much of spice at all to it and I was warned by the cashier about it. I visited this cafe after hearing good things from friends, and my mom who also knows the new owners. I was excited to try it, especially since it's considered a hidden gem in Modesto. Note that parking downtown can be difficult. The place has a cozy ambiance as it's in a vintage house, with plenty of seating inside and out. When I walked in, a customer was chatting with the cashier for a while, and I wasn't sure when it was my turn, until the customer stepped back though they kept chatting. There wasn't a warm welcome or much customer service to start, but I let it go. I told the cashier it was my first time and asked about any fall drinks I saw on their Instagram, but she seemed unsure and a bit confused the entire transaction. I ordered an iced chai with pumpkin spice cold foam (even though I don't usually like chai) and enjoyed it as it wasn't too sweet or strong. I also got the breakfast bowl with sausage. It was good, very cheesy which I love. After working for a couple of hours, I placed a to-go order for my boyfriend and me (two drinks and two sandwiches). My order ended up taking over 20 minutes. When the cook handed me the sandwiches in an open box, I asked another worker for a bag so I could carry-out. I saw her go back to the cook, who visibly rolled her eyes and sighed. As someone who also works in food service, I felt bad and apologized for not saying it was takeout when ordering--but they never asked either. Honestly, after this visit, I'm not sure I'd come back on my own. While the drinks were good, the service was underwhelming, and I felt uncomfortable at times, especially when I noticed some older caucasian customers staring at me (a POC woman alone) while I was doing my work. Though that seems to be a common experience living in the Central Valley, that's not at the fault of the business if that is their usual crowd. Overall, it was just an okay experience, and I'd have to consider coming back... I don't think I would alone. read more

Their selection of sweet pastries is the first thing that caught my eye everything in the display case looked fresh, inviting, and perfect for a quick treat. The pastry I chose had that ideal balance of flaky and soft, with just enough sweetness to pair with a warm drink. I ordered a hot chocolate to go with it, and it hit the spot. It was rich without being too heavy, creamy with a deep cocoa flavor, and served at the perfect temperature. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down for a moment and actually enjoy it. I also tried one of their muffins, and it was a great addition to the visit. Moist, flavorful, and clearly baked with care the sort of classic coffee-house muffin that makes you want to come back and try the other flavors too. The Queen Bean Coffee House offers a comforting experience overall. With a little more attention to speed and atmosphere it would easily reach five stars, but as it stands, it's a lovely place to relax, enjoy something sweet, and sip on a warm cup of chocolate. The backyard sitting area looks amazing and family friendly. The front yard looks well maintained and well thought out. I really appreciate how they have been very involved in the community and I was happy to see previous employees still employeed there! I had been looking forward to checking this place out since the change in ownership but as I sat at the last concert in the park of the season, trying to hear the music over the obnoxious band 'noise' emanating so loudly from the coffee shop, I was disappointed and felt it was sooooo disrespectful to the patrons of the concert in the park, I now don't want to show my support for Queen Bean. It's a long standing Thursday night summer tradition for a lot of Modesto citizens and I just can't understand why the business owners wouldn't find another night to book a band or at the very least, have the band end before the concert starts. I had to go take a look , the setting is absolutely adorable indoor and outside, it seriously looks like a dollhouse. To my surprise..as I walked towards the house I heard loud metálica/punk rock ... and then I saw the sea of people all in black / tattooed every where ... colorful crazy hair and piercings . I've been wanting to come visit Queen Bean for a while, it's very cute inside and out and I love the twilight decals in the attic window! My BLT was fresh and very good and I was happy to see a little pineapple garnish (I love pineapple!) my drink was superb as well. I gave four stars however because I felt like the customer service was kind of lacking. When I walked in I wasn't greeted and just kind of got stared at for a second by the person up front, it's fine if they were busy doing something else but I just didn't really feel welcomed upon entering. I stood there for a while looking lost since it was my first time and didn't really have anyone prompt me for help. The person who took my order was kind and explained to me to either wait for my name to be called or the buzzer. I'd probably come back again, just sucked I wasn't greeted when entering because I was already nervous about trying somewhere new. read more

Went here with my girlfriend a week or so ago. Wonderful staff, beautiful homey atmosphere. I asked a staff member if they could make an item that wasn't on the in-person menu, but was on the online menu, and they went out of their way to get it made for me. ​​​The pastries are delicious and the staff is very welcoming.
