Full course of pecans and a side of waffles
    Fernando S.

First time being here. Wanted to try this place cause of the reviews but Honestly our waitress ruined our experience. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or an off day but doesn't mean you should make our day bad. I'm not forcing you to have a smile across your face but at least some decent communication skills and service. Took our order with no problem but definitely seems like you were annoyed by us. Didn't offer us extra napkins or refills but instead just waiting until we asked or had to bug you about them. Didn't checked up on us how our food was. The hostess was the one who refilled our drinks. We barely started eating our food and you already brought our check? My food was to my liking and delicious for me but for my lady it was the opposite. You guys basically gave her a plate full of pecans like if it was the main course and a sprinkle of waffles. She couldn't even enjoyed it but you guys would've known if our waiter checked on us and at this point we didn't even feel like saying something cause our waiter made us feel unwelcome. Thanks for the bad experience I guess. Spacious sitting area though and lots of room to sit.

A solid 4 1/2 stars! Family went here for breakfast and had a great experience. Service was excellent and the place was packed with lots of "Old School" Turlock people, so this alone tells you this place is top notch. I got the Florentine Omelette, my son got the Linguica Omelette, and my wife got Strawberry Waffles. All of our dishes were tasty and filling. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars was the cost. Over $20 per person for breakfast is a little much. I understand the price of eggs/meat is high right now, so hopefully prices adjust down in the near future.

Trying out new places that's not too far from where I'm willing to drive, and this place was good, friendly service, good food and the ambience in the restaurant was decent.

Very good food. Food came fast. Service was good. The Workers were very nice and helpful.

Pork chops and eggs, pork chops were extremely old tasting, dry, and super tough! Couldn't even swallow the meat had to leave it there.

Old, dry, and tough pork chops. They look good in the picture, but they were so dry, old tasting and tough. I couldn't even swallow the meat. I ended up leaving it there. Big disappointment. Service was not good. Server spent their time chatting with the regulars. I'm a newbie there and I was pretty much ignored. I had to ask for coffee refills twice, and there were only three other tables with people at them.

    Biscuits with chocolate gravy

Had breakfast with with friend and decided to go with the farmers omlette, add avocado, country potatoes and biscuits with chocolate gravy. The omlette was filled with sausage, bacon, ham and linguica, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and 2 types of cheese. I was a little thrown off with the country potatoes, as they are usually diced. These were sliced, not crispy enough and onions and bell peppers seemed to be thrown on top, instead of incorporated within. I went for something new, trying their chocolate gravy. Biscuits were just ok and the gravy is like chocolate pudding. Tried it, but probably wouldn't order again. Service was quick and efficient. Checked on us multiple times and the check was left on the table super fast. Overall, it seemed like just another breakfast joint, but I would give it another chance and try something I wouldn't normally see on a menu elsewhere.

Nice little breakfast spot with the majority of the population there being elderly. When we walked in we had to ask to be seated bc no one assisted us. Then some server gave us menus and told us to sit anywhere. We weren't even greeted or anything. Our server (another one) was very nice though. We received our food in a timely manner and it was fresh and delicious. The portions are huge for what I can eat! It's an okay spot.

    Linguica Omelette

I've eaten here several times, and it has become my favorite spot in Turlock. The menu is simple and the food is very consistent. I always get really good service also. Now the only thing I would warn someone about is while the cook on the patty melt in the photo was perfect for ME, I did not order it that way, it just came like that. So if you like your burger more well done I'd recommend asking for it cooked well. But I was very pleased when mine was cooked this way.

We were visiting from out of town and decided to stop by because of the excellent reviews this place had received. When we first walked in, one of the employees asked what I wanted. I explained that I was waiting for my husband before ordering. She responded by saying, "Oh well, they're waiting," referring to the customers behind me. I immediately replied, "That's fine, go ahead!" so the other customers could order first, but her reaction afterward felt dismissive and somewhat annoyed. We later placed and paid for our order. Shortly after, my husband decided he wanted a Biscoff latte instead, so we politely asked if the drink could be changed. Another employee kindly stepped in and said she could do it, which we appreciated. I specifically asked for the drink to be changed to an iced Biscoff latte. Unfortunately, when the drinks came out, mine was still hot instead of iced. I went back up respectfully and let them know there had been a mix-up. Both employees looked at each other and chuckled in what came across as annoyance. I even apologized for the inconvenience, but the first employee responded by saying, "We are just too busy." I completely understand that working in customer service can be overwhelming, and I always try to be patient and understanding. However, at the time there were only a couple of seated customers and just the two of us waiting for our drinks, so the comment felt unnecessary. By that point, the interaction from the moment we walked in had already made the experience feel uncomfortable. We ended up grabbing our drinks and leaving disappointed. I usually enjoy leaving positive reviews, especially for small businesses, so it was unfortunate because we came in excited after reading such wonderful things about this place.

The reviews about the loud music is true and it's not changing any time soon…read more I visited for dinner ~6:30pm. Immediately when walking in I noticed the music was overwhelmingly loud. It felt more like a club scene rather than a nice dinner spot. I asked if the waitress could lower the music and she said they weren't allowed to touch it. Upon seeing the reviews of this place, I see why. The business owner claims that they're trying to curate a "lively atmosphere" and it's "not for everyone". That's wack. If half of your reviews are telling you the music is too loud, lower it. I could barely hear my partner speak and had to read lips just to try to have a conversation. Plus some of the waitstaff were changing songs midway through or skipping songs. It was distracting. On top of that, the main dishes do not come with a side. Every single side option is an up charge. I knew when ordering the salmon, that it wouldn't come with a side. But everyone should note that you're spending $25 on an 8oz salmon and two slices of lemon with not a single side. No rice, no nothing. To be honest, you can go to Texas Roadhouse and get the same exact thing for the same exact price and get two sides for free. Plus you're not hounded by extremely loud music. Last thing to note, our waitress was also working the bar. There was a couple at one other table and someone at the bar. Other than that, the restaurant was completely empty. We barely saw our waitress and had to wait for quite a while when we wanted to order another drink. We spent a lot of extra time than we wanted to waiting around. My positive about this restaurant is that the decor is nice and that they let you modify the dish a bit. We ordered the pasta trio and they let us get two of one type of pasta. The pesto was really good. The deals on Thursday for drinks is good. The bread and butter was really good but an extra $5. Overall? Business owner: please take note of what customers are saying and compromise. If a customer asks for the server to lower the music, staff should be allowed to, even if just a little bit. What sort of "lively atmosphere" are you trying to create on a Thursday night at 7pm with a restaurant 90% empty? Maybe change the vibe of the music based on the time of day. Your decorations say "nice dinner" your music says "sports bar". There is an in between and I know it can be found. I hope everyone can learn something from this review.

The Atrium has a totally different look than the previous restaurant Toscana's. They have spent a lot of time and attention to detail to create a more upscale atmosphere. The light fixtures, the moody floral motif on the ceiling, the serpent gold "A", and the greenery wall decor all create a unique look and feel apart from any other restaurant in Turlock. The menu offerings are designed to be shared which is a fun change from other area restaurants. The service was friendly and efficient with prompt attention and helpful recommendations. The only area we found that could be improved upon was the music volume. It was super loud which made it difficult to have a conversation over our meal. We were told that Atrium is trying to cater to a younger crowd. While we totally understand and appreciate the image they are trying to convey, the music volume really impacts the overall dining experience and not for the better. A recommendation would be to have the music volume a little lower during the dinner service and then switch from dinner service to light bites and cocktails, dim lights, and play the music louder to cater to a younger crowd. Of course that is just our opinion. We will give it another try in the future to see if things have improved, but in the meantime, we do hope they succeed.

The food was always top notch! After the first ownership change, it seemed to have lost it's value a bit. I went last year and I'm not sure who was the owner at that time, but it seemed to be back up to par. A few weeks ago, some girlfriends and myself stopped by for dinner and drinks. My friend wanted an indigeny and we were told they were out and that the menu was most likely inaccurate regarding beers, due to how often they change them. She wanted a cider and was told dustbowl strawberry margarita is a cider. It is in fact a seltzer and not what she wanted. I asked for a mango mojito and was told they were out of mint. I'd decided to order anyway and when the drink arrived, it was not flavored at all. I asked if it was mango and he said no and went to change it, saying the bartender got mixed up. While it was better as mango, a mojito needs mint. One of my friends ordered fries and what came to the table was not what we would consider fries. It was slices of potato and I didn't find it to have much seasoning. Another friend ordered arancini and an artichoke, while the last friend ordered arancini with tomato sauce on the side. Her arancini arrived with the tomato sauce on the bowl and not on side as requested and the waiter took it back to fix it. The artichoke was not cleaned, leaving the choke (fuzzy part) in the middle and my friend had started to eat it. At $18 for an artichoke, it should be cleaned correctly. The anancini were tasty and I enjoyed both the tomato and the pesto sauce that accompanied it. Before we ordered our mains, the waiter came back to say they were out of burgers and the cut of steak for both the black and bleu and the Jack Daniel's steaks, but could sub a ribeye instead. Ribeyes were market price vs the $37 of those 2 items. I was going to get the black and bleu, but then decided I would try to fish of the day. It was a white fish with a cream sauce and baby shrimp over mashed potatoes and green beans and I thought it was done very well. The fish was flaky, the mash creamy and the green beans had just enough bite! I ended up ordering another drink, but opted for wine to make it more simple. One of my friends had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and she thought it was OK. While I had hoped for a better experience, I will probably return to see if things are the same or they were just having an off day.
