I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or an off day but doesn't mean you should make our day bad. I'm not forcing you to have a smile across your face but at least some decent communication skills and service. Took our order with no problem but definitely seems like you were annoyed by us. Didn't offer us extra napkins or refills but instead just waiting until we asked or had to bug you about them. Didn't checked up on us how our food was. The hostess was the one who refilled our drinks. We barely started eating our food and you already brought our check? My food was to my liking and delicious for me but for my lady it was the opposite. You guys basically gave her a plate full of pecans like if it was the main course and a sprinkle of waffles. A solid 4 1/2 stars! Family went here for breakfast and had a great experience. I stopped going to Denny's for breakfast a long time ago. My Garden Cafe has friendly staff and delicious breakfast items. The portions are huge, ingredients always tastes fresh, and I feel everything is reasonably priced. Love that big slab o' ham and their CA omelette! Lots to choose from on their menu. Large hardy portions and feels like home. Love the chili verde omelet and their biscuits and gravy are perfect. Be sure to try the homemade jelly. Had breakfast with with friend and decided to go with the farmers omlette, add avocado, country potatoes and biscuits with chocolate gravy. The omlette was filled with sausage, bacon, ham and linguica, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and 2 types of cheese. I was a little thrown off with the country potatoes, as they are usually diced. These were sliced, not crispy enough and onions and bell peppers seemed to be thrown on top, instead of incorporated within. I went for something new, trying their chocolate gravy. Biscuits were just ok and the gravy is like chocolate pudding. Tried it, but probably wouldn't order again. Service was quick and efficient. Checked on us multiple times and the check was left on the table super fast. Then some server gave us menus and told us to sit anywhere. We weren't even greeted or anything. Our server (another one) was very nice though. Now the only thing I would warn someone about is while the cook on the patty melt in the photo was perfect for ME, I did not order it that way, it just came like that. After years of eating at My Garden Cafe, I called this morning to ask about a birthday breakfast reservation for ten people. I began the conversation by asking twice if the person on the phone was busy, and she insisted that she wasn't and could listen to my request. She listened and said she could possibly accommodate me with my ten guests, but she kept saying for "this" Saturday. I interrupted her to say that I was referring to the following Saturday not this Saturday. She sounded irritated and said it doesn't look like we are going to be able to work together. She then said "Thank you" and hung up. I was taken aback and, though I know this restaurant usually has friendly servers and good food, phone interactions have big impacts, too. I will not patronize this restaurant due to this interaction, but I do apologize if I said anything that warranted the worker's response. read more

Speaking about the server, she was super rude, seemed like she hates her job and people. It's disheartening that I have to leave such a negative review for a local diner that I was growing to like. This is my second time coming and this time I came with my family. We were seated by the hostess and we received our drinks. Soon after two parties came (one group within 5 minutes and the other 10) and both received their drinks. We should have had our orders taken first as we were ready. But both parties had their orders taken before us. What was the difference? Both parties were white and we are a part of color. Maybe it was a predisposed bias as the waitress was also white. Regardless, I've never received such a blatant racial experience at an eatery. This place was so awful. Ordered a croissant sandwich with ham with a side of hash browns. I also ordered a glass of orange juice which tasted so nasty as well. When the sandwich came it it looked so gross, everything was saggy and gross that I didn't even end up eating it. The hash browns were also so gross and nasty.
