    Country-Fried Steak and Eggs

Solid restaurant. My wife and I went twice this week to have breakfast. Really enjoyed our meals. Service was great. Place is extremely clean. Very good atmosphere. You can see that the owners have their friends there and there is great banter and friendship. The mom is there with a huge smile and greeting. Just a friendly, happy place. They have very good iced tea and coffee. I like my hash browns really crispy and they delivered. Oh, and we can place Hot Spot keno while we enjoy our food, courtesy of the California Lottery. An added perk was they had college football on the big screen!

I would have given this place better rating. However, this place is PRICEY. The three of us ended up $70. That's ALOT for my wallet. The food quality is above expectation but for me, once is enough. I would rather revisit a restaurant that's more of mom-n-pop than something "trendy" and expensive. We can't afford visiting this place. It'll break us before we can retire. Quality of food: A Quality of service: A Price: $$

Very close to getting 5 stars. Continues to improve since re-opening after the fire. Great canned beer selection in fridge by the entrance. Weekly specials and happy hour prices are hard to beat in the downtown area. Old school vibe of the original Latifs still exists, but Pedretti family making great improvements to attract a younger crowd too. Excellent service every time I've been here and breakfast options are very filling.

AMAZING to say the LEAST. Experience it for yourself!Crunch wrap had everything: crunchy, slight heat, freshness firm lettuce, sweet & savory. Espresso martini hit! The crew took great care of us! Love the down to earth ambiance.

What a cool dinner. It's an old school dinner in a cool old building. We were there for brunch on a Sunday around 11 and it was packed! Always a good sign. The service wasn't the quickest understandably, but they have the friendliest servers. They offer great breakfasts and sandwiches. My French dip was pretty decent and Amy's Denver omelet was delicious. Others in our party had a tasty chicken wrap, an awesome breakfast combo, Swedish thins and more. I definitely recommend checking out this place.

It's since been sometime that I've been in a vintage restaurant with remnants of the 50s, 60s, and 70s! The ambiance is electric with everything community and the people love it! The food and staff are pleasant (Thanks Jenna!) Looking forward to the next time!

Shrimp Louie was a little bland and forgot tomatoes on my salad.

Went after a day downtown. My oldest got the chef salad, I got the shrimp Louie and youngest got fish and chips. Service and staff were all very nice. My daughter enjoyed her salad, but partially through mine, I noticed it was missing tomatoes and had to ask for them. My youngest ate her fries and Cole slaw, but didn't like the fish. I ended up eating hers. Maybe would try again for breakfast.

Classic Turlock by lifetime Turlock residents. The Eggs Benedict are great we choose the country potatoes which were firm and cooked crispy. Eggs were poached and yolk was runny. Excellent flavor and fresh ingredients. County-fried Steak was a large portion. Came with country potatoes and a biscuit. Elected not to add gravy to the biscuit. The steak was awesome but the gravy was thicker than usual. (Still Delicious) The server kept our coffee cups warm and full. Food came at an average rate. Not fast food. Not overly extended like a kitchen that was unprepared. The best part is that this place is the same in 2024 as it was 40 years ago. This diner embodies the classic America that we love. The beautiful orange diner seats and classic counter feels so beautiful. Last I will say is that this place was recently purchased by the Pedretti's. True blue Turlockians raised in the small town and preserving this great town's history. Stop in and have a bottomless cup of coffee and the best pie in the Central Valley.

This is a cool spot in the downtown Turlock area. Drove past this place multiple times before deciding to stop in one morning. This inside gives off an old time dinner vibes. I have been here twice now and I'm not sure if I'm just coming at the right time but I have not had to wait for a table. Their menu is actually very big with a lot of items to choose from. All the servers are nice and helpful. Everything that my family and I have ordered has been not only tasty but the portions are large. If you have not been to this spot I would recommend giving it a try!

What's better than pie for breakfast!

The wet burrito was so good! Service was on point and the banana bread French Toast was stellar as well. So glad we chose this place today.

I absolutely adore this retro diner just as much now that it's reopened as I did when I was a kid. I personally appreciate that they've kept the original charm of the place while giving it a slight makeover. I love Latif's for the vibe, food, music playlist, happy hour, and beer selection. My husband and I also appreciate that they have Bloody Mary's. The breakfast are straightforward and solid every time. I branched out the other day and had the Turkey club sandwich with pesto pasta and I absolutely love it! My husband loves their breakfast burritos and you can go wrong with their scrambles. Service is generally good and our server Ang was very sweet and accommodating. I highly recommend this joint!

Nice extensive menu with both American and Mexican dishes. My wife got what amounted to a Thanksgiving meal and I grabbed some breakfast enchiladas in green sauce. We had an accident with the baby and he knocked over the drink and water and they were kind enough to remake her the cocktail and the next time around it was the correct color and tasted better. The food menu also had unique items, I was intrigued to try a few things! We started with the ceviche, I really liked it! Typically I always go for chilaquiles so I was torn but I decided to be different and since it is a crepe place I went with the mushroom and bacon crepe. The sauce they use on the crepe is decently spicy, so if you're spice sensitive I recommend getting it on the side. My friend's daughter had the breakfast crepe and it also had the same sauce and she had to eat around it, but she trooped through! My girlfriend ordered the steak bowl and she enjoyed it, it came with a lot of steak!

Shortly after, a group of about 8 ladies arrived and began talking a bit loudly while enjoying their lunch. It occurred to me that the design of the place enhances the sound (a lot of hard, flat surfaces) so for a quiet lunch, this may not be your place. After my associate arrived, we asked to move over by the wall behind the cash register. This worked fine until one of the employees propped open a door a few feet away, supposedly so another worker could carry in some supplies. I got up and closed it. The first one came back, looked at me and propped it open again, the other employee walked in with four gallons of liquid, leaving the door open, and the draft blowing. I got up and closed it again. For the rest of the time we were there, neither worker came back to pass through would have been an open door. My message, the management doesn't care about their customers (which seems to have been commented on by other reviewers). Fortunately, throughout the meal, our server was attentive, did a fine job of seeing to our needs, the food (we both had salads) were plentiful and tasty. We both remarked on the quality of the chicken, not dry, not tough, spot on. Overall, I probably won't return soon because there are so many other places left to try in the city and county first.

My friend and I split the wedge, which was very large. The picture I posted is a half portion they had separated for us to share. It had salmon, Mahi Mahi, shrimp, mussels and spinach. It had really good flavors and was large enough for me to take some home for my daughters to try. One of my friends ordered the Primavera pasta. She chose that because she wanted something vegetable heavy and it sure did have a variety. It has spinach, artichoke, bell peppers onions and zucchini. They are thin frozen type fries. Other than that the sandwich was tasty. We ended our meal with a crème brûlée. The interior is also a bit different. The floor and wall colors are a bit odd/ they don't really match the tables theme. And there is a part of the kitchen that could be seen from the dining room that is also unappealing. An easy fix would be a large curtain for this area. But those small details don't take away from the friendly service and great food.
