Food and service was great! Totally love the aesthetic too! Gabrielle was our server and she was so friendly and attentive to everyone. If you're in town or stopping by from a road trip it's definitely worth checking out.

Worst freaking experience and service ever. Black Bear ruined my mom's mother's day breakfast that ended being lunch. We were first told wait time was 30-35mins, but we ended up waiting for over 50mins. We understood it was busy, so we were okay. The thing that was incredibly frustrating was our waitress "Odi" and a random older man (not sure if he was a manager). We waited over a freaking hour for our food. Several people that came in after us had their food before us. We were really patient until the random older man (maybe manager) came saying without context that his kitchen was "pfff" and did some hand motions. Im guessing he was trying to say that they were backed up and said our food would be out shortly. Mind you we had already been waiting for over an hour. Our food came out 30mins later. All while our "waitress" kept avoiding our table and would randomly say your food will be out shortly 3 different times within the span of 1 1/2 hours. All they did for us was give us a lousy sorry, a bill, and some shitty as services. I am absolutely livid about this. You guys need better management. We always come here on busy days and never experienced this before.

We visited this location on 9/12/21 This was her first time at this location coming for breakfast, well a late breakfast around 12 PM we decided to make our way to Turlock for food ended up deciding on blackbear and we were not disappointed in our choice for The afternoon. Upon entering the building we were greeted by the host who then seated us at our table. We got the pleasure of having Tanner as our waiter for the day and I can honestly say he was a fantastic server. He made sure to give us the appropriate amount of time for us to find what we needed on the menu and he constantly checked in on us throughout our meal. Fantastic job on hiring friendly servers to give fantastic service. Let's talk food we were a party of three and we ordered multiple items off the menu; I ended up ordering the Grizz and everything about my meal was delicious and the pancakes were soft and warm my toast was crispy. my eggs were cooked perfectly and the hashbrowns were delightful. My husband ordered the scramble bowl with a side of French toast which he said were delicious my mother ordered another meal which I'm not too sure what it was called but she also said she really enjoyed her cinnamon roll pancakes. they were a bit sweet but that's what you get when you order cinnamon roll pancakes. Overall our food was very good everything was hot and if we needed anything extra tanner made sure to accommodate us in our request I would honestly come back to this location again if the service continues to be this fantastic.

Even the lentil soup was delicious that we decided to take a bowl home to share or not.

Check Yelp and see what is nearby. The unassuming name of "Cindy's Restaurant" sold us on this place and we were not disappointed. It was just the local breakfast joint we needed. When you first walk in the door you are greeted with the sound of many conversations going on - and not always contained to one table or booth. It is clearly a neighborhood favorite. Nice extensive menu with both American and Mexican dishes. My wife got what amounted to a Thanksgiving meal and I grabbed some breakfast enchiladas in green sauce. Both came out hot and tasted delicious. I barely finished mine and my wife took some of hers to go for second breakfast as we still had some traveling to do that morning. Both of us agree though - the next time we are in Turlock, CA we know where we will go for breakfast.

The outdoor patio is quite large and for a warm day, it's shaded and comfortable. They have a fun drink menu, and do mimosa flights with unique flavors. I tried their red sangria and enjoyed it, it's not too sweet and more tart. My friend had the lemon drop, and at first it wasn't the proper color of one it was more orange than yellow. We had an accident with the baby and he knocked over the drink and water and they were kind enough to remake her the cocktail and the next time around it was the correct color and tasted better. The food menu also had unique items, I was intrigued to try a few things! We started with the ceviche, I really liked it! Typically I always go for chilaquiles so I was torn but I decided to be different and since it is a crepe place I went with the mushroom and bacon crepe. The sauce they use on the crepe is decently spicy, so if you're spice sensitive I recommend getting it on the side. My friend's daughter had the breakfast crepe and it also had the same sauce and she had to eat around it, but she trooped through! My girlfriend ordered the steak bowl and she enjoyed it, it came with a lot of steak!

Shortly after, a group of about 8 ladies arrived and began talking a bit loudly while enjoying their lunch. It occurred to me that the design of the place enhances the sound (a lot of hard, flat surfaces) so for a quiet lunch, this may not be your place. After my associate arrived, we asked to move over by the wall behind the cash register. This worked fine until one of the employees propped open a door a few feet away, supposedly so another worker could carry in some supplies. I got up and closed it. The first one came back, looked at me and propped it open again, the other employee walked in with four gallons of liquid, leaving the door open, and the draft blowing. I got up and closed it again. For the rest of the time we were there, neither worker came back to pass through would have been an open door. My message, the management doesn't care about their customers (which seems to have been commented on by other reviewers). Fortunately, throughout the meal, our server was attentive, did a fine job of seeing to our needs, the food (we both had salads) were plentiful and tasty. We both remarked on the quality of the chicken, not dry, not tough, spot on. Overall, I probably won't return soon because there are so many other places left to try in the city and county first.

My friend and I split the wedge, which was very large. The picture I posted is a half portion they had separated for us to share. The only thing I would recommend is, the Bleu cheese dressing was lacking flavor and adding Bleu cheese crumbles would add so much more flavor. I ordered the seafood risotto. It had salmon, Mahi Mahi, shrimp, mussels and spinach. It had really good flavors and was large enough for me to take some home for my daughters to try. One of my friends ordered the Primavera pasta. She chose that because she wanted something vegetable heavy and it sure did have a variety. It has spinach, artichoke, bell peppers onions and zucchini. She's not huge on spice, but said the spicy marinara wasn't overpowering. My other friend ordered the pork schnitzel. She thought it was very good and I was able to snag a bite to try and I also enjoyed it. I would consider ordering it myself next time. We were too full for dessert, but the options sounded really good and I might have to go try them next time. Also, still no liquor license, so we stuck to water and soda. For dinner we ordered the Chicken Pesto Pasta & Caprese Sandwich. Both dishes were plentiful. The pasta had lots of chicken. The only small critique would be the fries. They are thin frozen type fries. Other than that the sandwich was tasty. We ended our meal with a crème brûlée. The interior is also a bit different. The floor and wall colors are a bit odd/ they don't really match the tables theme. And there is a part of the kitchen that could be seen from the dining room that is also unappealing. An easy fix would be a large curtain for this area. But those small details don't take away from the friendly service and great food. Definitely recommend and will be back to try other items on the menu.
