We got in right before the place closed @ 2:30p. The hours are narrow for sure, but the quality of their offerings are quite good! The service was quick and friendly, and the ambiance is chill and inviting. In all I'm glad we caught them, and hopefully they expand their operating hours. :) read more

Gold Country Roasters - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Murphys, California

This is an excellent little coffee shop with their own roaster offsite. Their coffee beans are nicely blended and I actually bought some extra beans to take home for my latte making machine at home. I got the white chocolate raspberry latte and it's a June special called the pretty Patty. They were extremely busy and there was a bit of weight for the coffee. This is probably one of the best coffee shops in the area and there's always a line about 10 to 20 deep almost at all times until about noon. this is definitely your go to spot when you come to Murphy's for coffee. read more

Gold Country Roasters - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Murphys, California

Visiting Murphys for a destination wedding and stopped at Gold Country Roasters for our morning fix. We tried the Sept special latte, Dancing in September, which is caramel, cardamom, and cinnamon --we used almond milk and half the syrup. It is delish! We also had the new veggie egg bites. Seriously the best egg bites I've ever had! These are not your Starbucks or Peet's bites, they have spinach, fluffy -- I mean FLUFFY - potatoes, and cheese. I'm going to dream about these things! This is a popular place--opens at 7:00. Get here early if you want pastries. The case was already sparse by the time we arrive about 8:30. Murphys is an adorable town and we will return--and stop here for our morning lattes! read more

Great coffee, great location, great atmosphere. The baristas were friendly and informative. I chose to enjoy a classic latte with coconut milk. My intent was to try something that would highlight the taste of the espresso. I was not disappointed. The beans were perfectly roasted and the latte was delicious. I intend on making this place my go-to for a morning cup of coffee the next time I'm in the area. With Gratitude, Vanessa read more

Run don't walk to this place. The coffee is sooo good! I tried the golden sequoia and it was amazing. Plus they are super friendly. My kids were super chaotic and running around and grabbing all the flower pieces on their tables, rather than get mad they actually let them play with it. Their supervisor happened to be talking to my husband and she started telling us where they grind the beans and how long they've bee opened. This is truly a neighborhood coffee shop. Deff stop by here!! As someone from Manteca this is not our go to coffee spot in Murphy read more

We purposefully stopped at Gold Country Roasters on our way out of town because we fell in love with their Arnold roast. We experienced a bit of sticker shock at the price of our drinks. My Purple Haze was $9 . The other surprising thing was they charge $18/bag for their roasted coffee beans. But at Big Tree Market in Arnold, they're only $16/bag. They were also out of all of their breakfast pastries. (We arrived around 11am.) So, if you want to grab a breakfast bite, arrive a little early. The spot is super cute though & the trees were in bloom, which was so beautiful. read more

PUH-lease bring back the chair pads! Those chairs are HARD! Does not contribute to the comfy ambience that it would like. They cannot be that expensive-- buy a couple at a time, an idea. Please.Three stars because of it -- coffee great, but sitting comfortably to relax and enjoy - customer service! read more

While visiting Murphys today, we stopped by for a mocha. The beans used were on the dark side but after adding a little cream and sugar, it was delicious. As we sat outside, we decided to go inside and try an apricot rugelach and a cinnamon one. They were very tasty. We went back inside again and got another apricot one. Everyone here was so nice here. First time ever being here and lemme just say, WOW.! This hole in the wall coffee shop right off the main road is so cute and I love the vibes here! The service here was impeccable, the ladies who helped me were so amazing and helped answer my questions. The double chocolate scone is TO DIE FOR! The bakery goods here are made locally which is a huge plus in my book! If you haven't tried this place out, I highly recommend to come by here, enjoy the indoor/outdoor patio they have! read more

Gold Country Roasters - Double chocolate scone & small hot cocoa - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Murphys, California

The staff wasn't very friendly and didn't ask for my name for my iced coffee like they did for everyone else. We had my toddler grandson with us so we waited outside with him. As soon as we went outside they shut the front door on us making my daughter feel unwanted and pushed out with her toddler. They never told us our coffee was ready so we finally walked in to check on it and it was waiting on the counter, melted...They could have at least came and brought our coffee out to us knowing we were right out front after closing the door. read more

What a fantastic coffee shop! We popped in a quiet Sunday afternoon. The vibes were great and the baristas were friendly. I ordered a cappuccino and let me tell you, literally one of the best cappuccinos of my life! The foam was absolutely perfect and worth putting on a pedestal. I will for sure drop in again the next time I am in the area. Gold Country Roasters is an easy recommendation, so give them a try. read more

I love blended drinks, yes, like mocha frappes (just no whip, please). Gold Country Roasters did not disappoint! Though I can't remember exactly what I ordered, we went two mornings in a row, and both drinks I got were extremely good. The quality and flavor of their blended drinks were consistently impressive. This place should be the go-to spot for coffee lovers in Murphys. They stay busy, which is a clear testament to how great their offerings are. Despite the crowd, the service was quick and friendly. My wife loves drip coffee, and she was equally thrilled with their drip coffee options. Each cup was rich, flavorful, and brewed to perfection. We also tried something like a Liege waffle, and it was amazing. The waffle was perfectly cooked, with a deliciously sweet and crispy texture that our sons couldn't get enough of. It's rare to find a place where both the coffee and the food are equally excellent. Gold Country Roasters has a fantastic atmosphere, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a morning treat. Don't miss this spot if you're in Murphys--it's a true gem for coffee and breakfast lovers alike! And D'oh! I forgot to take any pictures. Oof. read more

Cute coffee shop with nice seating and a good downtown location. Coffee was good. Staff were friendly and it was clean. Both times we stopped there they had almost no pastry options. The first time we stopped was early afternoon on a Friday, and the second time was 9:30 on a Tuesday. Perhaps they have better options on the weekends. read more

They suck! They close 1:00 PM not 2:30 as the back room where people like work is closed at 1:00 for cleaning. And people talk on their speaker phone inside and the staff says nothing. Nope never again! read more

Good coffee, very expensive. It's a small place but very strong in atmosphere and a good stop in a Downtown Murphy's trip.

Love this place but was there at 2:10 on a Sunday when they close at 2:30. The staff locked the door at 2:15, didn't want to serve coffee in actual cups (only to go one's) which is what makes it fun. At 2:25 they were spraying and cleaning tables and the gal literally sprayed me with cleaner and then laughed it off. All three gals made clear to everyone in the store they were done and out of there. Not a good vibe. If you're open till 2:30 you should be "open" to serving your customers and treating them well. Kind of sad this is a cool place. read more

Friendly first thing in morning. Very patient with a non-local. Great variety of special coffees.

Cute outside area. Love that they have books for you to read and enjoy They have Rugalach in assorted flavors. This is a little pastry that is similar to baklava. Murphy's, CA Big fan's of this roaster! We did not stop into this coffee shop but picked up their roasted coffee beans at a local supermarket. We bought the Arnold and Murphy's blend whole bean coffee. Murphy's blend is so smooth and makes a great espresso. Wishing we had purchased more! This coffee roaster is among our favorites we have tried...enjoyed the bag for at least a week, or however long it lasted us! Hope they will start distribution to So Cal! read more

Gold Country Roasters - A good cup on a cold day! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Murphys, California

The coffee is freshly roasted and ground every day, and they offer a wide variety and can grind it to order or sell you beans. We've been drinking the Murphys' Blend as our daily coffee for several years, and get a card punched so we get a free bag for every dozen bought. It's not cheap, but it is excellent, and their per-cup prices are well below Starbuck's and the coffee is strong without being harsh. We like it a lot. Ambiance is good, with both indoor and patio seating. A good place to meet friends, hold a small meeting, or just chill. Dogs are welcome, and sometimes the chickens from across the road stop by to peck under the tables. Changed ownership not long ago, but still offers quality coffee and good service. read more

Excellent coffee, but disappointing pastries. I appreciated their Covid safety measures. My husband and I loved our Americanos, and my dad liked his cappuccino. The banana coconut muffin was just okay, and the scone was disappointing. We called in our order by phone - it was great to find our coffees ready when we arrived 10 minutes later. The entire set up felt pretty safe for Covid - we never had to enter the cafe, and payment and pickup took place outdoors, which we appreciated during this surreal time. read more

Friendly atmosphere and location right at the "top" of the main drag are convenient; staff is friendly and attentive. That said, the coffee is world class, particularly the Arnold and Murphys blends.
