This was the second time visiting Revive Coffee - I am a sucker for a coffee shop! Like white on rice! I needed a caffeine pick me up while walking around downtown Sonora, so we stopped in! The inside is pretty big with a decent amount of seating - I also like their décor with all the plants and artwork. We ordered the Strawberry Latte from the Spring menu, another latte with cute latte art and a Morning Bun. I really enjoyed the Strawberry Latte - it had a strong coffee flavor and a slight strawberry flavor. My daughter loved the Morning Bun - it took her 2 days to finish it. Their Spring menu also included a Strawberry Mocha, Strawberry White Chocolate Mocha, Strawberry Matcha Latte as well as iced teas and lemonades! Overall, this is a super cute coffee shop in downtown Sonora and staff were friendly and patient while we decided on what to order. I will absolutely come back for more the next time I am in town! This is one of my favorite coffee shops to visit in Sonora. Its location is perfect for downtown and has plenty of seating for grabbing coffee with a friend. There is always plenty of parking in the front. I would definitely recommend trying one of their seasonal lattes. I tried the strawberry mocha latte, which was not overly sweet but still gave the flavoring of a chocolate-covered strawberry. For food, I have tried both the almond poppyseed muffin and the egg, bacon, and cheese croissant. The sandwich was warmed for me, but the egg was still fairly cold to really enjoy the sandwich. The croissant was delicious though - very buttery and flaky. Definitely something that I would try again but I would recommend asking for it to be warmed for an additional two to three minutes. read more

Really cute and aesthetic coffee shop in downtown Sonora. My friends and I wanted a place to sit down, play cards, and enjoy some company. We saw the coffee shop and thought it's be perfect. The employees were great. Super friendly and working as quickly as they could. I did not try any of their food; however, my coffee was great. One of the baristas recommended the honey lavender latte which is what I ordered and I loved it. It had the perfect balance of both honey and lavender. Great little coffee shop. Cute coffee spot in the center of town! It has rustic vibes with the high ceilings and cracked cement walls. The barista was very nice and the coffee came out quickly. I got an iced latte with oat milk and half sweet of the maple syrup flavor. It was delicious! Not too sweet and I could actually taste the coffee, which was delicious! I think for how big the space is, they could use a few more tables / seating. And because it is such an open space, your voice seems to echo a little. This coffee shop is right in the middle of downtown Sonora and just a quick walk from the Saturday farmers market. (The Farmers market is directly behind the shop). We had a hot vanilla latte and really enjoyed it. The coffee was bold and nutty and the vanilla was just right without taking over. They only serve a 12 oz hot latte and the 16 oz is only for iced. Prices are a little higher than other craft coffee spots and that's probably just the area since there aren't many other options. They're closed on Sundays. While I was there a bunch of locals stopped in which gave it a nice community feel. Wish they were a little cheaper or offered the 16 oz for that 12 oz price. read more

Talk about cute!! This coffee shop hits all the marks from good locations, great vibes, and stellar coffee. We were a group of four and ordered drinks to enjoy in the shop (they use ceramic and glass mugs/cups which I love!). We were able to find a great seat and enjoyed a game of monopoly deal while hanging with our friends and drinking coffee. The building architecture is so cool and there is so much light that comes in that adds to the happy vibes here. The staff was very helpful, kind, and efficient. I've been wanting to try this place for so long as I've constantly passed by it. All my daughter and I were hanging out in Sonora for the weekend we stopped by. She had a chorizo empanada. I have a ham and cheese empanada. She had the café mocha with oat milk with a shot of vanilla and I have the macchiato let me tell you that The staff is very pleasant. Very kind. Very educational on what they offer. The coffee is phenomenal. definitely love supporting local businesses and will be coming back here. The food the empanadas were delicious. They come with a free sauce. The cilantro lime ranch sauce was awesome. The chimichurri sauce was to die for and the roasted salsa was excellent. Definitely will be back. I'm from Santa Cruz so I am accustomed to excellent coffee choices. If I had to choose a big brand I prefer Peet's to Starbucks any day. With that said.... This coffee is amazing. I had the regular drip and the oat milk latte and its better than 5 stars. There are some bad reviews about customer service however, I watched 1 girl open and have 5 customers to get orders from and make the orders. If anything she needed help and was focused. Was she the best at customer service, no, but we attract what we want. She made a great latte and was kind. I went here several times and all the baristas are working solo so give them a smile and take a breather and enjoy the historic decor while they make you a great cup of coffee! This is a coffee shop, not unlike starbucks, but with the local charm added. downtown in sonora, where parking is limited, this small establishment pours some of the best coffee that can be had up here in sonora country. every time my son comes to town, he insists on coming here, even after we've just had breakfast or brunch or even an early dinner. he's kinda a coffee snob so, i let him guide me through his world of coffee perfection. the people who work here are all locals and they are typical sonora pleasant folks. that adds to the charm of the place. all in all i recommend it. although i like coffee, ill take a couple of cups of freshly brewed farmers bros or a home brewed latte (yes my son convinced me to buy an espresso machine.) but, i do enjoy the convenience of a nicely brewed cappuccino or latte, even if i have to pay a bit more. this place is good. worth stopping at. read more

While there's an obvious draw due to the location and vibe of the place (dare I say cutest coffee shop in town?), the service could use a tune-up. I frequent this spot and unfortunately have yet to be greeted when I walk in. More often than not, I'll stand at the register waiting to be acknowledged while the barista chats with a coworker, or customer a few feet away for a comical amount of time. I can understand the juggle that comes with a rush, but a simple "I'll be with you in one moment" or "welcome in" goes so far. Also, while I appreciate the care that goes into making a well-crafted drink, I do feel like the approach of employees is painfully lackadaisical, which makes me apprehensive to swing by unless I know I have nowhere to be. Pretentious staff, zero customer service. I have spent a lot of money at this location. Never have I been greeted with anything more than a blank face and rude service. They are often out of new items like Matcha. If you ask their baristas a question, they have no interest in helping and they are very slow. Revive Coffee & their roastery (located in Tuolumne City) essentially have a monopoly on Tuolumne County's third-wave coffee scene, but it's easy to see why. The Downtown Sonora cafe is clean and contemporary while also having a rustic vibe that owes to its location in a historical building. Drinking coffee there is a very pleasant, relaxing experience. Their blends are good, with enough diversity to satisfy a wide range of tastes. I had a latte that was quite nice and the latte art was among the best I've seen. Pricing is pretty fair, lower than that of large urban centers in CA like SF and LA, but not "cheap" per say. Revive also has a nice selection of branded merchandise available for sale at this location. I picked up a glass travel mug and some well-designed stickers. We had a breakfast burrito with bacon- it was so yummy! Totally adequate size to share also. I ordered a dirty chai and my fiancé had a latte. Both were very good. The chai had a mild flavor but not so mild that it was drowned out by the espresso. The service was quick and friendly. We were glad to see they had high chairs for our baby. We meet for tea at Revive to enjoy the way it is served: in a clear glass pot to steep, on a wooden tray, with a ceramic cup to wrap your hands around. Beautiful. Love the Turmeric Ginger tea, and Earl grey. The only place in town to get a hot drink in a real, non-paper cup. Food is freshly prepared. I like the avocado toast. Served on a real plate. We came here two days a row in September when visiting our parents. We love a good pour-over and here they don't disappoint. We got their medium roast Base Camp which is so delicious!!! They had a nice variety of beans available from medium to dark and extra dark. Something for everyone! The pour-over took some time (about 12 minutes), but it was worth the wait. We didn't try the food, but the items coming out of the kitchen looked good. We bought a package of Base Camp beans to take home with us. They have various coffee related items and gifts. Clearly this business only cares about $$$ and not the well-being of their customers and community. I will no longer be financially supporting this business, despite their coffee being one of my favorites. Bottom line: Baristas and customers do not wear masks. To respond to the owner's comment on my review: first, the weather has been fine this week - we had one day of rain. This seems to be an excuse for your behavior. Secondly, a quick search of Covid 19 from legitimate sources shows that indoor dining is one of the leading ways to spread Covid 19. You're willing to "make the call" despite having a safer option of outdoor dining. You're blatantly disregarding the science of viral transmission and trying to make it seem like y'all "care". Caring would be putting community health and well-being over the few customers who prioritize their latte over the lives of others. If you and your customers are sincerely concerned about isolation and weariness, then the simple and safe decision is to do outdoor dining. I'm also curious about what other health codes you're violating, considering you're so willing to blatantly violate this one. I highly recommend researching similar businesses in the area (as well as Sacramento and the Bay Area) who are able to follow county health guidelines, keep their employees and customers safe, AND continue to be successful. Maybe it can give you some incentive to keep our small community safer. But regardless, you've made your views clear, and therefore I will no longer be supporting your business now and post-pandemic for this reason. read more

Came here on a Saturday around 10:58am, I have no idea why but it took them over 10 minutes to get me a double shot of espresso. Initially I asked the kid if they have just a dark roast coffee, he said most of their roasts are medium, but then tried to sell me on I think their house blend, and I had to clarify-but that's a medium roast. Busy day, they had at least 3 people in the back, 1 kid at reg, and for some reason 1 lone guy casually making drinks at the machine. I watched someone who came in after me get their cold drinks, someone who came in before me get their specialty drinks, and for some reason I was still standing there-waiting to get on the road-wondering why my espresso which takes minutes to brew at most was not prioritized as something that is quick and can stay done. After 10 minutes of waiting I walked back over to the cash register ready to either ask for my money back or just leave-the guy at the bar/machine said, "two minutes, it'll be out in two minutes." I should have driven to the starbucks drive through as I initially had intended. If you aren't in a rush and just want a latte or a medium roast head over here, but know you may be disappointed by the slow "artisanal" service and limited brew options. read more
