On a road trip and decided to verge off a bit to visit Blues Cafe. So glad I did! The server was friendly, very patient with my traveling companion who asked a lot of questions and answered all with a smile or chuckle. They have a signature type of bagel called crunch which was delicious especially if you're someone who likes seeds and a lot of texture. The sandwich itself-Popeye is a great choice. They did not have any pork alternative options so that would a nice add but veggie options were available. Initially I was going to order a hot coffee but they do not offer mugs for dining in so went with the Mocha Crunch instead and it was delicious! If I'm ever traveling through again I'll be revisiting. read more

My friend and I stopped by here on our bikes. Didn't even knew this place existed. Tucked away in a shopping strip of bland building, the entrance stands out. A lot of character and charm, but also a little rough around the edges. We both had the Kitchen Sink sandwich and thought it was amazing. Defiantly exceeded my expectations and was quite delicious. Counter person was pleasant and over all atmosphere was eclectic and was very fitting for this place. The building itself, however, is a bit outdated and I'm probably in need of some TLC from the property owner. All and all I would be willing to visit this place again. read more

This is such a nostalgic spot for me, and my all time favorite place to grab a bagel and coffee! Their pizza bagel is absolutely delicious - ask for it extra toasty! They also make some delicious smoothies that are well worth the visit! They have an adorable indoor seating area that is quite casual with comfy couches and small tables. This tiny but cozy establishment was a random stop on our road trip back to SF. We were in desperate need of a decent coffee and blues pulled through. The ecstatic interior offered a fun vibe that seemed to draw the local crowd. Not only did they serve up tasty espresso, they also offered beer on draft and a food menu. It had the right amount of dressing & kraut, the sourdough bread was fresh.. it was stated by the person eating it... it left them wanting more... should have ordered two of them! Also a turkey & roast beef on the Dutch crunch bread. The crunch bread with "everything" was great, it did't get soggy, it had the perfect amount of red onion. The coffee!! Two iced americano's!! We have been to award winnings breweries here in Cal and when we tried their beers is hard not to compare them to icy cold beers from Blues! They don't have a big selection and don't need one (probably 5 or 6 on tap) because the quality is really good. They do have more selection of beers on bottle. Food is also delicious. You can tell the owners take pride and love their place because everything they make here is really good. I am originally from Long beach and visit LA frequently. We were in town for the day and Blues Cafe came recommended to us by someone, so we decided to check it out. We walked in around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was almost empty, minus a few patrons having drinks at the bar. We approached the bar/counter and grabbed a few menus. We could see a few workers towards the back of the bar area, but no one acknowledged us. We stood for a few minutes looking over their menu, but still, no one greeted us even after making eye contact with one of the employees. I have been working in Patterson for a little over a year now and I absolutely love coming to Blue's for lunch! They have a really simple menu mostly of sandwiches, salads and coffee drinks. Blues feels like the perfect local cafe/bar fusion that has great cafe food! Honestly you can never go with their sandwiches. I like ordering with either Dutch crunch rolls or their ciabatta bread. Very good quality in bread and their deli meats are high quality! I usually get the Gobbler Oinker. It's their turkey & bacon sandwich and I always add Avocado! I love that they serve spicy brown mustard and olives as the condiments, as well. I'm not a coffee drinker at all but I love their Mocha Chiller! Let's get right to it. Remember back when you could load up a submarine sandwich with tons of extra meat and cheese? I missed those days - until today. I wanted a huge sandwich and a big salad. The meal needed to be massive, because I had no intention of eating the bread (it's a no bread week for me). I normally go to a sandwich shop and pay for extra meat that I never see - but here, at Blues Cafe, I didn't even have to ask for it! I ordered the 12" Kitchen Sink and it was GIGANTIC. It was the heaviest sandwich I have eaten in years (other restaurants should learn from them). The Chef Salad was extra large too. Exactly what I wanted. You can't leave this place hungry. After a long day in the heat for the Patterson Back to School and Safety Fair my Co-Worker and I were hungry. I'm always looking for local spots on Yelp and I always love a good sandwich. After reading some of the reviews and surveying a few people who came to our booth at the fair it was decided. We walked in and pretended we were deciding, and we honestly thought we were, but the Kitchen Sink had been decided before we even walked it. The sandwich is way too tempting to pass up, every deli meat, three cheeses and veggies. It was HUGE! The sandwich tasted so great and I was surprised I could even open my mouth wide enough to get a bite, I'll repeat HUGE sandwich. The restaurant has a great feel, the owner was really nice and checked on us after we had a chance to try the sandwiches and we each left with another meal.
