Excellent sandwiches and even better people!We ordered the Glenora, a hot sandwich with roast beef and melted cheese -- a perfect balance of flavors. Such a cute hippie spot. The food was incredible, inexpensive and delicious. Fresh veggies on the sandwiches were REALLY fresh. Loved the ambiance, the family vibe and the warm atmosphere. Say hello to Pumpkin the cat when you stop by! The entrance was confusing, maybe because like an idiot I went the wrong way through the garage area instead of the front? If it's your first time here it can be a big confusing, but once you figure it out if will probably become a downtown favorite like mine. Brighter side is my favorite place for a sandwich or salad. You come in through the main door and write your order on a card, then you go to the waiting area and pay when your order is ready. I'm obsessed with their egg salad sandwich, and their fresh salads. It is cash only, so I usually go to the wells fargo across the street first. The ladies making my sandwich are always really sweet. Definitely recommend modesto locals try it read more

Family owned Modesto's hidden gem tucked in a local neighborhood. If you like simply made sandwiches here it is. Wife and I stopped since we were around town. Sure enough one of the best 1st time experiences. Wife had the Christian which is avocado, tomato, Alfalfa sprouts, and Cream cheese served on rye bread. As I went with the Genora, Tender hot roast beef on French tool served with tomatoes lettuce and Jack cheese. We both shared a half and let me tell you. Both are amazing. The only thing that would stop me from going to this place is that they only take cash or check. As a young person, I don't generally carry cash nor do I own a checkbook. However, this place is so amazing that I will take an extra stop to the bank to get cash so I can have this lovely experience again and again and again. I was not happy so, I called Jersey Mike's and complained to the assistant manager who stated I only had to get on their website and fill out their form and I would get a coupon emailed to me for a remake probably within 24 hours. The Jersey Mike's corporate office in New Jersey emailed me 2 days later making a point to say each Jersey Mike's is individually owned so, they really can't do anything other than send the info to the owner. Corporate asked me for the ticket # which of course I no longer had because the assistant manager did not tell me it was needed which I explained when I responded. I then received another email asking for the date of the order, method of purchase, last 4 digits of my credit card and the total amount of the purchase which I then gave them. Today I received another email thanking me for the info and they would forward it to the owner. Geez, Jersey Mikes......is this how it goes for your customers when your employee screws up an order? As well as being given misinformation from the assistant manager on the remake coupon process? A total of 5 emails and still no coupon and it's now a week later. I think we will order from Togos from now on to avoid the hassle. Their sandwiches are better anyway.

I think the Brighter Side is a fun little place that makes you feel like you are eating out of town. The food is delicious and tastes like fresh homemade. I typically enjoy the garden salad which has lots of fun extras that are different from most restaurants. I have tried the egg salad sandwich which was also great and piled high. The people that work there are very friendly and some how keep up with the lunch crowd. They have nice patio seating and orders are prepared quickly. The only negative I can find is that sometimes the parking can be a bear; but it's worth it. read more

Cash only place that is a real good and quick lunch spot. Make sur eyou get the sundried tomato pesto on your sandwich, it really complements the flavors of chicken and turkey. It's a small place, but some places are better like that. Love the mom and pop feel. read more

Upon entering, the staff immediately let us know they were having issues with the kitchen and that they had no idea when it would be back up. We decided to leave and return another time. The second time, I made an online pre-order. I decided to get the meal deal for 4 (and a separate order of the blueberry biscuit fried chicken sandwich) for the most variety. This deal includes: - Chicken Option: 8 pc tenders, 16 pc wings, or 16 pc nuggets. I went with the 16 pc wings. They were heavily battered, and the wings were cooked through and still juicy. I wasn't too wowed by them though. - 2 Sides: I went with the honey mustard pasta salad and chipotle potato salad. The pasta salad was soggier than expected, but flavors of both were pretty good. Chipotle potato had a nice kick. - Loaded Wedges: This was literally a potato quartered into 4 wedges. Tastewise, I really liked the seasoning they used on the potato though. I didn't care for the loaded part (cheese, bacon bits, green onion). - Choice of 5 sauces: Personally, the best part of the meal. Their sauces are on point.
