A below average place with flies flying around! The place was empty except our family. We saw at least three flies constantly, I become suspicious if I see flies in the dining area. I question cleanliness in the kitchen!! Now coming to food, I ordered the chicken rice noodle. A lot of chicken, carrots, favor wise ok, nothing great. The noodles are a tad undercooked! Terrible! Unfriendly and unprofessional server. while I was paying at a cash register, a receipt got printed . He handed it to me, then i asked ," do I need to sign it?" He stated at me and shook his head like I am stupid and yelled out ," I don't know. Do you see any line on the receipt for you to sign?" Truthfully the receipt is tiny. German cockroach heaven. Big bummer the reviews were great, but once I entered and used the restroom you can see into the kitchen... Kitchen strainer sitting on top of the garbage can in the kitchen... Red flag... German cockroaches on a food cart in the kitchen... Red flag, and mop bucket and mop blacker than asphalt in the kitchen.. final red flag within the the 5 minutes I was in this place. I really hope they get an inspection done, and get a to do list to stay open, and maybe clean up and possibly survive. But I will be avoiding. Great tasting food in this little hole in the wall place. Even though it's not the closest place for me to get a yummy bowl of pho I don't care. I came in recently for pho to go because I had a little cold and sore throat. Maybe it helped or didn't do magic and fight off the cold but it sure made me feel good and very satisfied They always provide enough of the yummy tidbits to add in, my fav is basil. I can never finish a whole serving but my pho was so tasty there wasn't enough to save. I was recommended to come here by a friend and let me just say they do not disappoint. Amazing service - they sat us fast (it was busy because we came during lunch). The restaurant was clean and had such a warm inviting feeling. We both got rare beef pho and the pork egg rolls. The egg rolls were honestly some of the best egg rolls I have ever had in my life. The pho was just hands down the best pho I have ever had. Only was 34$ for two bowls of pho and the egg rolls!!! Terrible!!!!!! I just called to place an order for pho and explained I'm new to the menu and not familiar with ordering so what's the most popular pho and let me get that one. The man on the phone said he wouldn't do that I need to choose of the menu, so I tell him let me get the beef pho, he says he can't do that because he doesn't know what kind and starts listing options of meat. We get the rare steak pho and it's the most flavorful pho we've ever gotten in the 209. This restaurant is a whole in the wall and the family that owns this are amazing!! Absolutely fantastic place for lunch or dinner. I've known Dave the owner literally since I was in the womb My mother came here when she was pregnant and my father with her. You cannot find a better bowl of pho in the valley I challenge anybody to find one. What's more they're one of the few fun places that has quail eggs available which I highly recommend for the soup and they have a delicious chili oil which I also highly recommend. Although the Pho soup is very good, the menu is a little pricey. I got the Chicken with vegetables and rice plate which was just okay. it was $13.50. My husband had a bowl of Pho for $14.50. For appetizers we got the spring rolls and pork meatballs (which were terrible) and an ice tea and a beer. The bill was $65. "Snagglepuss Saves The Day" While I was getting down in the Ghetto, and buying some cheap Chinese New Years Cards (for only $1 each at the Asian Market across the strip mall), I was starving, so I gave this place another go after quite awhile. Either they had improved with cleanliness and food quality, or I was really really hungry...but the Pho was pretty decent this time. The poor excuse for a waiter, was a scurvy looking missing front tooth Viet dude, whom I will call Mr. Snagglepuss for the hell of it. Mr. Snagglepuss, appeared to have no clue as to what the hell I was asking. I kept saying and gesturing, if my order could be "fast" or ready quick (since I had to get back to work). After a minute, I decided that I was slowing the speed of my order down by my asking questions, so I just pointed to #1 on the Menu...and off raced Mr. Snagglepuss. While I was watching Egypt go nuts on CNN, Mr. Snagglepuss finally brought my order. The Basil was kind of pathetic, but the broth, beef, and noodles were fine. I thought #1 had Tendon (my fav) but I did not see any. I put my usual hot sauce, plum sauce, and stinky rotten fish sauce in, as well as, the dish of fixins, stirred, and wolfed it down. Not bad at all...and no MSG after-shocks noted this time (but I just had a small bowl). When I went to pay, there was Mr. Snagglepuss, and maybe his wife(?), who also looked like she had Scurvy or Beriberi or something. Poor Mr. & Mrs. Snagglepuss really need some Vitamins or stay away from whatever they are hooked on (and get a damned dentist for my sake). These unsavory characters really distracted from my Ghetto-dinning pleasure. Anyway, thank you Snagglepusses for providing a decent Ghetto-Pho experience! So upgrade from Eek to OK! read more
