I ALWAYS have such a great experience at Perko's Cafe in Riverbank, and a huge part of that is because of the amazing manager. His name is Ron! He truly goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome and taken care of. I usually go to the Perko's on McHenry, but by far, I would rather drive 10 extra minutes just to come to Ron's location. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customers and his team. He's attentive, professional, and always checking in to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's rare to see someone so dedicated and positive, and it really makes a difference in the whole atmosphere of the restaurant. Service is always friendly and efficient when he's around, and he handles everything with such a calm and kind attitude. Managers like Ron are the reason people keep coming back. You can get great food in most places but you can't always find great service! Thanks Ron and staff for being so GREAT! Found lipstick on my husbands coffee cup when we mentioned to our waitress she claimed it was probably permanent lipstick. And the dishwasher missed it. But I touch it with a napkin and it smeared right off. Very freshly put on Changed tables and our spoon was dirty at the next table with his cup of coffee!!! Dropped in for brunch was busier than expected but we were greeted and seated right away . Put in our drink order and put in our food order shortly after that . Lack customer service..walked in and no one acknowledged us and they all where nearby and saw when we walked in it wasnt til a young man coming from the kitchen sat us down....when seated waiter kept walking by and didnt acknowledge we where there I had to ask her if she was our waiter to order...I have been to other perko's and they have great customer service this will be the 1st and last time I come to this location in riverbank.....Brittany needs to be better trained in how to provide good customer service is she expects for people to tip her well. read more

This is a great choice for American fair in Riverbank. It is always very very busy. 9 times out of 10 we have gotten great service and our orders have been correct. Prices here are quite fair and they have been really great about adjusting their menu for my dietary needs. This is for sure the first place we think of when we wanna go to breakfast. However, I highly recommend the chicken strips as well! this is definitely an all ages kind of diner. We had a Patty Melt and the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. For as busy as they were the food was delivered hot. Food was very tasty and delicious. I haven't even gotten my food yet and this place already deserves 10 stars!!!! CARLY & STEVE are so amazing and were able to accommodate me and my pup with their patio seating. They were both so sweet, welcoming, and eager to help with amazing attitudes!!! Just have to throw that out there before anything else!! Anyways, the patio was locked up because it's still winter and not many people are sitting outside right now. Steve and Carly had to search through all of their keys to help me access the patio. Once I sit down outside, Carly immediately shows up to wipe down the table that I was sitting at & Steve quickly follows her with a bowl of water for my pup (which I didn't even ask for!!). Seriously outstanding customer service!! If big boss man is reading this they deserve a raise, or a bonus -- treat your employees as well as they've been treating your customers!! Had the service been better I'd probably go back. The fact that we had to get up to ask for a to go box and flag a waiter down to ask for refills didn't sit right with us. This place is good for breakfast but that's all I recommend. Went here for dinner the other day and ordered a steak and shrimp dinner that came with two sides in which I picked mash potatoes & gravy and Mac and cheese. The food was completely cold. The mac and cheese was boxed Mac and cheese (was not homemade). The gravy wasn't made fresh either and it was the gravy from a packet where you just add water to it and the shrimp was also bagged (the frozen kind that you just fry or microwave). All in all the dinner was not good. I recommend this place only for their breakfast items and some lunch items. They also have this bad habit of brining your check as you literally eating still and or they bring the check immediately after barely brining your food to your table. read more

We used to come here regularly. We've been doing take out with most restaurants for the past couple years. Ordered today and got told it would be ready for pickup in 20-30 minutes. At the 45 minute mark it still wasn't ready. The staff was rude in telling me it wasn't ready. So I'm changing my previous rating on this place. read more

My best friend and I went here the other day and the server, Carli was amazing ! Genuinely happy and nice . I ordered a shake but saw the lemonade after , even though she made the shake she was ok with not charging us and just giving the Lemonade, we got both because I can't do that, the point is she didn't seemed annoyed or rude at all when I changed my mind, (I am sorry i did though!) she was very police and courteous, the food however was BOMBBB, i got the biscuits and gravy with the eggs potatoes bacon mixture, and I am legit CRAVING it again; I didn't get a picture because I truly just devoured it. They have another lady who works there with red hair and she throws it up So cute , she rang us up and she was super nice and friendly as well, over all a great friend experience and time , we work graveyard and this will fersure be my place to go to after work ! Working in town this morning and had about an hour to wait so I decided to have some breakfast. Nice friendly staff. I asked the girl that seated me how the chicken fried steak is. She said it was really good. I asked if they made them at the restaraunt and she said no but they were still good. She was right. Most of the time when they are premise, they are just bad, flavorless breaded cardboard. These patties were at least 1/4" thick or more not including the breading. I would get them again. read more
