All amazing! Timing and tempo could have been better. My meal came out around 5-10 minutes after my dates meal. His was cold by the time mine came. We were done with our meals for quite a while before the server checked on us about dessert. We were told we only had 3 minutes to order dessert which was a bit off putting considering we had been ready to order at least 15 minutes prior. We got our dessert shortly before 10, and at 10:02 the house lights came on glaringly bright - aka time to get out. We hadn't even gotten our check yet. Overall the back end of the night felt rushed which put a damper on the experience. I would come back maybe during social hour or earlier in the day.

I specifically requested my most favorite server, Yoshi as our waiter, but sadly they couldn't make that happen because he was working the outside dining area. He still managed to swing by and check on us a few times, and that was enough to make the night better. Yoshi is just THAT guy. He makes dining here ridiculously fun and somehow makes an already great experience even better. The music and drinks were on point. The Puff Puff Pass was the cocktail winner of the night, followed by some really good whiskey. Then came the food, and damn... Kemuri does not mess around. We shared everything and ordered in waves, starting with Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio, Charred Edamame and Taiyaki Cornbread. Next up was the Chili Cheese Takoyaki, Wagyu Short Rib Skewer and Hot Pocketz. Every single thing was delicious, and flavorful. Somehow we still found room for the delicious banana pudding. Great food, great drinks, great friends and Yoshi popping in to keep the party going. Pretty hard to beat a night like that. Kemuri Tatsu Ya continues to be our favorite!

I will say the Asian aspect of the fusion leaves a little to be desired, as in a majority of the dishes just contain some sort of ponzu or yuzu marinade, not that it's a bad thing just wanted more. The miso mustard flavor on the potatoes is a really good combination and was hoping for more flavor fusion in that realm. But as a smokehouse it is a really solid choice. Overall, a really good place to dine!

The place reminded me of Ling Wu in the Grove area because the decor looked similar. Maybe they are owned by the same people? Firstly, I was impressed with the fact they had a FREE parking garage nearby since this is in the downtown area and next to Whole Foods. It took me a bit to find it as I'm directionally challenged, but I did and was just running a bit late. We really enjoyed the food and cocktails. I got the Singaporean noodles, a mezcal drink, and a sake. The serving size was big so I had plenty to take home. We shared many of the other dumplings and dim sum items. Everything was very good! The place wasn't too crowded so after we paid our bill we sat around for a while longer to chat and catch up. Usually someone would come by to see if we needed or wanted anything further, but no one did so we kept chatting and left. I'm happy to know of a central location with easy parking as a future place to meet people. I wish they had a happy hour because the bill for 3 of us was unexpectedly higher than usual.

Small's knows how to make a damn good pizza. Thin, perfectly crispy, and slightly chewy. The pad kra pow pizza was just alright to me. It's a bit dry and too salty for my taste, maybe the rice soaks up the saltiness better than pizza dough. It's a more one dimensional flavor with a hint of fish sauce. The osso bucco was what I was looking more forward to. It didn't disappoint. The beef was fork tender and barely required any chewing at all. The curry was coconuty and lemongrass forward which is my favorite! The roti that came with this dish is the best roti I've ever had in my entire life. In a world full of various flat breads, I've usually thought roti doesn't compare to some of the other options, but I kid you not, my jaw dropped ripping into this roti. So flaky and buttery!! The toasted coconut added a perfect crunch to each bite. It took a while to come out as a heads up. It was about $90 with tip and tax for 2, so a tad expensive, but overall done well.
