The servers went out their way to take care of people and despite all the drunk people, we had a great meal. If it's that great in the middle of the night packed, I cant imagine a regular time! Went here back in April when I was visiting my sister and brother in law. We went here the following morning for breakfast/brunch. We had a wide choice of a variety of food items. Since I was in Baltimore and Maryland is known for its crab, I decided to be traditional and order a crab omelet. The crab omelet was amazing and I could smell the crab right as it arrived at our table. The omelet was delicious, hot, cheesy, and filled with ham and crab. I finished the entire dish and the toast was toasted very well too. The only reason I gave this review four stars is because they left a lot of dishes just sitting there waiting to be served. Some of that food could have even been ours too, but I am not sure. However, the food was still excellent, hot, and delicious. Just make sure that when the food is up that it doesn't just sit there to die. I would be more than glad to come back here for a sip and a bite. read more

This used to be the place to go for hands-down the best broiled jumbo lump crab cakes in Maryland, maybe the East Coast. I hadn't been there for about a year and a half and found myself in Baltimore, jonesing for some of those phenom crab cakes. Boy was I disappointed...lots of breading and jalpeno pepper filler. WTF? Very good food at great prices. At first I thought the portion sizes looked small, but that's only in comparison to the embarrassing sized portions served at most diners that you either cant finish, or feel sick after eating. Our portions were perfect, we were full, but not sick. I tried somethng I never had before...poached eggs atop spanakopita...great flavor combination! I love that this is open 24 hours. However, even though it's a diner, I expected more from a turkey burger. The turkey burger patty was bland and tasted like it came from a frozen package. It was so processed. I only had a few bites before I finally gave up. We had to ask the waitress for everything. Straws, silverware, ketchup, napkins. Born and raised in Baltimore so I've passed by this place thousands of times, but only recently did I finally try it. I was left very underwhelmed as there are way better places to eat in the area. Everything I tried was bland. The onion rings and mozzerella sticks were awful- straight from a freezer bag. I tried my friends crabcake and it was just okay. My gyro was decent, but there are way better gyros in the neighborhood. Its an alright place to stop after a night of drinking when nothing else is open and you don't want fast food. Went here for lunch last week with a co-worker. Known Baltimore spot because it's been on Guy Fiores diners drive ins and dives. I liked the atmosphere of the place , it's got an out time dinner feel n I kept thinking it was going to be hot a well because the outside of the building is metal. The tables are a little too close to the seats that makes things a little uncomfortable,I noticed another patron was having the same problem.are waitress was so nice day down and chatted with us. I got a crab cake and my co-worker got the Chesapeake eggs Benedict and we also got mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks were normal quality not extremely impressive. My crab cake was of Maryland quality, some lump crab meat but not a lot. I have had better and would get something else next time. My co-workers meal was huge and she said it was good. I went with my boyfriend; he ordered the crab cake omelette, and I got french toast. I had read several very good reviews, and was hopeful, but still reserved. The omelette was excellent. He keeps mentioning it, and when he comes back for a visit, I am certain Sip & Bite will be on the menu. My french toast was french toast; next time I'll go for something more unique, but I was in the mood for sweet that morning. Many reviews had mentioned how good the coffee was. My taste in coffee is different than most; I want it strong enough to stand up and shake my hand, so I was a bit dubious. But I was pleasantly surprised. I've been to Sip & Bite many times over the years. I've always had a pretty good experience. A lot of people seem to complain about the crowd, but if you're open all night in Baltimore, I don't think you can really fault the establishment for that. I appreciate the fact that they serve good food all night. I almost always go with the Greek food. I've never tried the crab cakes or many other items on the menu, but I've tried about every Greek option and have been consistently satisfied. The prices are fairly reasonable too. I've overheard some pretty ridiculous conversations from the waitresses, but they've always been very nice and I've found many of their conversations to be entertaining. read more

3 stars because breakfast is good. I dont know why i got the urge to try the meatloaf. Its hit or miss and this place was a big miss for me. My mom used to bake chop meat and throw ketchup on top. They would be better off if they used that recipe. But maybe its just me. A group came and sat down next to me. I overhead the guy say he loved the meatloaf here. I thought i was on candid camera... I was tempted to give him mine because i only ate 1 of 4 slices. Dishes were not very clean. My water glass had a dried up drip of soda on the rim. I would go back for breakfast, but nothing else. By far the best bang for the buck in Baltimore. The food is consistently good and the service is generally fast. The Gyros are great for about $6 and even the $4 chicken tenders are made from scratch, not from a bag in the freezer. You can even get a very good crab cake sandwich for $10. My only complaint is that they don't let you tip on a card, so you have to bring at least a few dollars in cash to tip unless you want the wait staff to hate you. Best. In. Class. We stopped in for lunch on a whim, and were certainly not disappointed. The service was prompt and friendly. As soon as we say down it felt like we were part of the family, or regulars who had been dining there years though it was our first time. I've been here 3 times so far and 2 out of the three times I had great food. The first meal was a cheesesteak that was good - not life changing or remarkable, but tasty and inexpensive. The last time I went I had the Greek plate and it was phenomenal! The time in between, I had an open faced beef sandwich and brussel sprouts on the side - the main dish was boring and lacking flavor, and the brussel sprouts were microwaved, turning them into a mushy disgusting lumpy green reminder of why most people claim to hate brussel sprouts. But my other meals, and my husband's regular meal (crab cakes and eggs), were great. All in all, I'm a fan, but I now know to stick to the Greek options, the crab cakes, or the basic sandwiches. read more

My husband and I came to Baltimore for a getaway wknd and I Googled in search of great eats!! I noticed that SIP AND Bite was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, for their famous crab cakes so I figured we'd give them a try!! We popped in on Friday evening and Veronica, our server, gave us a run down of all their amazing menu items!! We decided on the cream of crab soup (amazing), crab cakes (equally amazing) and salad with the house dressing! Veronica did not disappoint! We loved our meal and the price!! Saturday, we visited the Harbor and decided to check out the Rusty Scupper! We were sadly disappointed that the cream of crab was absolutely no comparison to Sip and Bites and almost double the price!! Needless to say, we ended up back at Sip and Bite on our last day! Diner food that is available 24 hours a day. What more could you want? Their crab cakes were really tasty. Their french toast was also wonderful. The cheeseburger was huge, but not super tasty. Granted most of the time I eat here I've been imbibing, so take that as it may. Price compared to the amount of your portions is excellent. Perfect after bar food, although at 2am expect to wait 30-45 minutes for a table. You can order food to go and it is a little bit quicker. read more

I usually come here with the intention of getting breakfast, but I can't pass up the blue plate dinner specials! They are a total steal and for about $11 you get an entree, two sides, soup or salad, and their fresh bread. So far I have had the open face meatloaf sandwich and the breaded veal cutlet, both of which are great and smothered in a delicious brown gravy. This is exactly what diner food should be like. I am docking a star only for the service which is extremely slow. This won't stop me from coming, as everyone is always very nice, but just a warning for anyone looking to get out of there quickly.
