Plaka Mezze Spreads

New huge fan of Estiatorio Plaka!! The restaurant itself is beautiful, the seating area feels upscale while still being welcoming and warm. A group of us came for happy hour and it was incredible. The $1 oysters, mezze spread (with hummus, tzatziki, eggplant, and I think a roe cream cheese), and espresso martinis were all 10/10 for me. Sometimes an espresso martini can be a little bitter but I felt like this one had the perfect balance of sweetness!

One of the best happy hours in the city! Food: Extensive happy hour food menu at great prices. Delicious: $1 oysters, mezze spreads with pita, mini spinach & cheese pies. Skippable: zucchini chips, and the mini gyros were a little dry. All signature cocktails are $7, honestly amazing price and they are strong and tasty! Service: sat at the bar, bartender was lovely, fast, made good recommendations. Ambiance: restaurant is super cute, bright and well decorated; bathrooms are nice and clean. Bonus: restaurant is attached to their bakery, the mini pistachio baklavas are some of the best ever!!!

I can't say enough good things about this hidden gem. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary with the kid and wanted to grab lunch. I was looking for a place that was not too expensive, with good food, good vibes and family friendly; Estiatorio Plaka (EP) delivered. Located in Greektown, not too far from Canton is EP. They have been opened for less than two years and have a bakery, bar and formal restaurant. The outside of this place does it no justice. In fact, with a secret a door it could easily be a speakeasy. The only difficult part is the parking lot. There is limited street parking and a dedicated parking lot that's a 4 minute walk. We arrived, with our reservation and were immediately seated. The staff were friendly and I appreciated that they had a pillow for my son's back in the high chair. My wife's immediate response was, this place is nice; good choice. We started off with a Bellini and Mimosa which were mixed to perfection. It was the right amount of juice and champagne. Then, we didn't know what to order because everything sounded good so we got the French toast and the kayianas (mixed scrambled eggs). The French toast was very tasty and light; the eggs were flavorful as well. Then, I ordered the gyro which had shaved meat, fries, onions and tomatoes which was just as good. It's refreshing to find a place off the beaten path, that's not over saturated and delivers in all areas (customer service, decor, food quality, etc). We can't wait to return for brunch or dinner.

Chicken Souvlaki Pita

Finally ordered delivery from Estiatorio Plaka and I am so happy that I finally took the plunge. Take my feedback knowing that it was delivered! I got the chicken souvlaki pita and fries. The pita bread itself was amazingly flaky and buttered. I'm not sure if they make their own pita or it's just buttered to perfection but I could just eat the pita for days. The souvlaki had fries in it and honestly it would've been better for me without them so consider eating them in the side! The hand cut fries were a bit soggy but I attribute this to the delivery. I might skip the fries next time and try the potatoes that looked delicious!

Another excellent experience at Estiatorio Plaka! From our server who was absolutely amazing, kind, and attentive, to the delicious meals and beautiful setting. This restaurant is a must-try and also a must-revisit. Make sure you save room for dessert and check out their onsite bakery that has all of the best treats and eats to take on the go Cannot wait to go back again, again. Was a great celebration for a good friend.

GET HERE IMMEDIATELY! Came for the lunch special, then stayed for happy hour. Everything was so memorable. Drinks, food, dessert, customer service, ambiance, cleanliness, every single thing EXCEPT the limited parking. We ordered a lot: Pasta Rosa: 10/10 - extremely flavorful and a lot of chicken Avgolemomo soup: 7/10 - not super strong lemon taste as I expected. Still pretty good Oysters: 7/10 - some weird gristle on it, only half dozen Mini spinach & cheese pie: 10/10 - amazing flaky crust. Good filling. Feta fillo honey: 10/10 - a must try. Soooo good. Cheesecake Baklava: 10/10 - threw me off with how good it was. A must try. Ferrero bar: 8/10 Baklava: 10/10 Nutella bracelets: 9/10 Chocolate covered baklava: 10/10 Passion fruit crush: 10/10 Smokey Whiskey: 10/10 Mykonos Highball: 6/10 too syrupy

I love the ambiance of this restaurant! It is like you left Baltimore and are on vacation! I went on a Saturday evening and sat at the bar. I had a great bartender and dinner. I went for lamb but decided to try one of the specials instead. It was the stuffed rockfish and it was filling and delicious. There are many more things on the menu that I want to try so I'll def be back.

Stopped here randomly for lunch and had an amazing experience. I haven't been since the spring and was really delighted to see a lunch special that changes every week. I thought I might just get a pastry but was hungry enough for lunch. The restaurant is huge and I sat in a different location than last time and the sun was shining and it was just so beautiful. I felt like I've been transported to Greece. Nikki was my server and she was ABOVE AND BEYOND. She was so attentive she easily could've just left me alone, but was friendly and really went above with giving me extra napkins and freshly cracking pepper on my burger. It was really an elite experience. I couldn't even finish half the burger as the entree came with a salad. The lunch special was quite cheap and they have one dollar espresso on the menu, which is insane.

Located in Greektown, it is what you would expect: delicious Greek cuisine! We made a group reservation and had no issues getting in or seated. The staff Were exceptionally attentive and friendly. Definitely a return visit is in order.

Kayianas!

Had a lovely family-style brunch with friends and absolutely loved it. The Nutella crepe was to die for, and I tried the eggs called, Kayianas, which was delicious. The ambience truly makes you feel as though you've been transported to Greece. We'll definitely be back for dinner to explore more of their Greek specials. Highly recommend!

Great crusty garlic bread offered up before a hello. Great service with a smile from multiple staff. Clean quarters with a high tech bathroom. The toilet see s you leave then flushes. Electric eyes on the water spigots and blow dryers. Portions are large throughout. Greeks don't let you leave hungry. Our monster Greek salad was had feta, onions, tomatoes, olives(watch out for the pits, and cucumbers. One entree was mousaka with ground beef and eggplant. It was excellent, but we had to bring home half of it. Same with the baked chicken. Burnt lemon and a olive oil, butter base for heaps of flavor. Mounds of roasted potatoes. Ate some, bagged the remainder. Then we finished with orange cake soaked in some sweet syrup. Totally hit the spot. In Baltimore's Greek town, I'd move them to the head of the line.

So, I finally got a chance to eat inside the restaurant. Which is funny, because it's right down the street from my house. My partner and I wanted a date night that was close to home because it was raining. From the minute you walk inside, everybody treats you like family. We were seated at a table and didn't really like that option so they quickly gave us another without any problem. All the servers are so friendly! The amount of food you get with a given entree is amazing! I wouldn't have ordered the additional sides that I did had I known one of the meals came with a soup. We had so much food. We were both stuffed. Unfortunately, we were both so hungry we barely took any pictures. I had the fried octopus. She had the octopus special which was served in some type of sauce. She loved it and of course I always love my octopus. I had the red snapper which was the special, along with rice and broccoli. I also ordered a side of sweet potato mash which was amazing! OMG! Let me say again that the sweet potato mash was so good! My partner had the seafood linguine which she absolutely loved. We got some chocolate cake and rice pudding to go. I tasted the rice pudding today and it was Divine. We also took some bites of the chocolate cake when we returned home last night and that thing was Rich! Overall, it was a great experience. Between the food and our servers will definitely be back!

And I love that they give back to the community in areas such as education, community and philanthropy. Stopped in this past Saturday with a bunch of my gym friends. I love that their tap list offers a little bit of everything for everyone, from classic lagers and IPA to house ciders. I am a Pilsner girl, so their Pilsner was my fave. I love that they do weekly events such as Trivia and open mic nights to name a few as well as host a few several food trucks out back. Oh and this is the spot where they have that really nice flea market as well. You have to check their Instagram page to see which food trucks will be serving food. Saturday they had empanadas from Aru Aru, which were very yummy and made fresh to order. Best spot if you are a beer connoisseur, great place for happy hours and is accommodating for large parties. Plus you bring your own cards and board games to play as well. I will so definitely return.

The old church and architecture is so warm and inviting-- it was still decorated and lit for Christmas so it felt extra festive. It WAS weird to see the brew tanks at the front of the old church, where the altar would have been. But it also places the beer on the altar of our Friday night so I was OK with that. I had an American Pale Ale, the husband had a Kolsch. My beer was exceptional and delicious. My husband said the kolsch was OK. They also have a cute space with books and board games! As well as a cool merchandise wall with excellent cool t-shirts. I had to restrain myself. There is no kitchen or food served here. Order at the bar and sit where you want, there are plenty of tables and a lot of elbow space. The folks at the bar are Super Nice and you should tip them well. They told me there is usually a food truck that shows up at an undisclosed time in the evening. We did order some fantastic pretzels (w/ smoked gouda) and waited some more but ultimately had to go find a meal elsewhere. We will be back, perhaps in warmer weather to wait out the food truck and have more beer. Also, we were there for happy hour so our beers were $5! Thank you to all of the kind people at The Ministry of Brewing! We will be back.
