I was very pleasantly surprised by this place! I walked in today after having lunch at the amazing Burmese restaurant in the same complex. Even though it was a Saturday, there were only two customers, so they were able to seat my mom and I right away. They were very detail oriented with shaping the nails, and spent a long time on the massage. One touch I appreciated was that they opened the instruments from a sterilized pouch in front of me, and they took sponges and buffers out of a box labeled "clean" - I've been to too many nail places that are lax about infection control. This place is expensive--- my regular pedicure was $35 and my mom's gel pedicure was $50, but the peace of mind, the long massage and the attention to detail was worth it. read more

Since my last review, I've been here a handful of times. The original lady I saw my first time here wasn't there anymore. I thought maybe it was her day off the days I chose to come in, but I guess not? I haven't been fully satisfied the past few times, but my last time was horrible. The photo I attached to this is only after 4 days. How disappointing! I get gel manicures so that I don't have to come back for at least 2 weeks! But for this to happen 4 days after???? Ridiculous. My nail technician Diem just moved to this location since Jenny's nail salon in Dublin, CA closed down couple months ago. Of course Diem is my favorite nail artist who takes pride of her outstanding detailed work therefore, I followed her at her new location. The place has been remodeled and looks great, clean and it has a very friendly atmosphere. The spa music on the background relaxes you and everybody is professional, welcoming and very kind. I highly recommended it to all my friends and clients. Diem is the gem of the nail spa and I hope she stays there because it is my favorite nail spot. read more

I used to love this place, I referred all my friends here. But after waiting for an hour for Tina to acknowledge my appt for a full set. She went an hour over her previous appt before me. That's fine but no sorry, no discount, and she was so distracted trying to see if she would be tipped by the person before me she was turned around trying to file my nails looking away. I was in Dublin running errands and felt like having a spontaneous pedicure :P Looking at yelp for the highest and most rated nail salons Ken Nail Spa and Silk Nail Design came up. Since this nail salons at 9:30 and welcomes walk ins I opted to this place. First impression when you come in. It's fairly clean. The interior is on the darker side but once you sit in your very comfortable massage chair. You feel like you are in the spa and the music they play in the background is very soothing. They also have a great selection on regular polish and gel (it seems). Once I was seated they gave me a menu to chose which pedicure I want (I didn't' see any pricing) but found out after my pedicure that it was 40$ which is steep but might be worth it as it was one of the better pedicure I received. They are really good in cleaning your cuticles and making your feet and legs feel soft and smooth. The massage is also nice and long! I love the shape of my nails and how the colors came out! Definitely a great place to come to get your feet pampered! read more

Very nice place :-) I would have to say this is my favorite salon in the area for multiple reasons. It's not normally crowded when I go, so the environment is very relaxing and the ladies there are very friendly. I typically experience this awkward 30 seconds when you enter and all the other customers stare at you, but here they greet you nicely. The color selection I would say is average, definitely better than some I've been to but not the best I've seen. They have plenty of special effect polishes and also limited edition ones. I've always had a great experience the few times I've been here, and the prices they set are not bad either. I have acrylic nails, so every time I return for a fill it is $20. The only reason this is not five stars is because I really would love more color choices! read more

Been wanting to give this place try for quite sometime and it wasn't all that great. Came in around almost 10am Saturday, a lady greets me and I asked for Vy because I saw a picture of the nail color that was done by her. The lady say Vy will be here in and something about making an appt. I told her I wanted to do a manicure shellac on my nails but not cut my cuticles but I believe she didn't understand what I was trying to say because of she didn't understand English very well but she got frustrated and just told me to sit at the 3rd chair. So this other lady I tried to explain to her the color I wanted but she kept showing me light nudes when I wanted a light see through white color and then she got frustrated because I was saying no to the colors she was choosing. I've showed pictures of what I wanted done there and from another store and they couldn't figure out the color and got frustrated with me? Makes no sense but whatever. The First Lady greeting was saying something in Vietnamese like I didn't understand about me not wanting to cut my cuticles. After sitting there looking through the colors Vy shows up I showed her 2 pictures I showed the other ladies and she said I have colors similar to what I want. I was like great! So we tried the colors and I picked one that I liked. After my nails were painted the lady that greeted me gave me a massage it was good, she started acting nice and asked questions of where I live? I told her alameda and yes it's a far drive to get your nails done Hahahaha. I gave both her and Vy tip, thank them and was on my way. Where everything changed: At the end of the night after my I got ready for bed and I looked at my nails and they weren't the color I had when it was done! So I sleep on it til morning just to be sure I wasn't seeing things. Everything was good until the color wasn't white like how I wanted it anymore. :( Vy was awesome but I don't think I would want to come here again. read more

My friend and I are travel nurses and we found silk nails by design via yelp. Nothing but great reviews! Vy, Vivian and Diem are INCREDIBLE! I'm not really into getting manis and pedis but my friend gets one every 2 weeks and convinced me to go with her. I absolutely LOVE this place. They are so friendly and take their time, never rushing, therefore making your nails looking perfect and fabulous! Give great scrub and massages for the arms and legs, put lemons in your water when soaking your feet, and you can ask for a refreshment (tea, coffee, soda). We recently left and have not been able to find another nail place like this. We are so sad we won't be seeing these lovely ladies anymore :( We call them our friends and would visit them if we were ever back in the are. The only nail salon I have ever been impressed with! We lived 20 minutes away and would have made the commute if we lived further. read more

I'm not very picky when it comes to getting my nails done. I went in to get a refill and new color to my nail. Before I went they were black and white. Like I said I'm not to picky. I loved the environment here it was clean warm and peaceful. They had nice melody music with I love; I don't like loud salons. I went in wanted a natural/beige/ look I found on IG, they were able to make it look the same but I still liked what I got. New to the area I went to have a manicure and waxing done. Vi serviced me and she was very sweet and talkative. She did a superb job with the waxing of my previous beat down eyebrows. Lol. She worked wonders. The manicure was pretty standard and I didn't like that she didn't completely remove the previous shellac all the way, but again she did work wonders on my mittens. I'm very picky when it comes to my nails, especially it is very difficult to find someone that can do the almond shape nails correctly but her acrylic and gel skills are excellent. The price is on par with other places in the area. What stands out at Silk Nail Design is the quality of their work. Vivienne and Linda worked on my nails today and the entire experience was amazing. My daughter got Pink and Whites and she too was extremely happy with the service. Unlike other nail salons I've frequented, the people here are attentive, seem to really care about doing a good job. I recently moved to Dublin and have been in search for that go-to nail salon in the area. I tried Happy Nails (worst experience ever, don't go there), Rainbow Nails (ehh, almost always rushed for no reason), and LB Nails (decent service, but a small color collection). My experience at this salon fixed ALL of that. Linda did my pedicure and it was the best leg massage ever! And Anna did my gel manicure which was also perfect! They both took their time and even helped me choose my colors WITHOUT rushing me, so that made me like them from the start. The ambiance is also super serene and the salon is kept well decorated with pretty decor, including a well thought out color scheme. Maybe I'm just biased because somehow the fragrance of the bamboo and overall aesthetics of the salon is taking me back to my childhood and rushing me with nostalgia. ANYWAYS, this place is worth a visit if you're in the area. The staff truly know how to pamper their clients, and I'll surely be coming back. Think I'm done with my green tea (which they offered so generously as my feet were drying), so that's all for me today folks! read more

First time to have a silk wrap for my nail here. The person who did my nail ( I think her name is Vicky, she said she's the manager) did not do a good job. She cut my skin , it burns and it hurts. She said she was trying to scrub close to the cuticles. Perfect with customer service compared to other nail places. I like this place bc it is kind of hidden and the spa music is very relaxing. There's no frenzy feeling like some on the other nail places when it gets too busy. Plus there is no TV which I prefer bc the nail technician is truly examining and focusing on each nail instead of watching TV. This has happened to me at other nail places with has resulted in polish not applying correctly and I only notice after I've left. The people are super nice and social with you instead of with each other. Another plus is the massages here for a mani or pedi exceeds far better than other places I've been to including the ever popular Bollinger. They also started using a plastic liner inside the water bins of the pedicure chairs. I like this bc it promotes a more cleanliness use of the spa pedicure chairs. Your germs are kept with you and helps with any mildew or mold that didn't get cleaned out completely if using it without a liner. Hygiene and clean equipment is always a super plus in my book especially at nail salon. This place deserves five stars. Obviously, I will be returning. read more
