Called ahead to make sure they could schedule an appointment for me for a pedicure. The location is okay but parking was full and I had to wait for someone to leave, as this is a shared lot. Temp inside ran sort of warm. Pedi options were okay. Got gel cateye and the pedicure was just meh. No paraffin wax or massage. I won't be returning.

Oh how I've missed this place. I used to frequent Ken Nails when I lived in Dublin back in 2018, and after moving from city to city, it was always hard to find a go-to nail salon. Ken Nails became the gold standard I compared every future nail salon to. Needed some much-needed R&R today and had such a great experience here. I got my Gel-X done by Anna and she was so friendly, fast, and incredibly thorough. Her attention to detail was amazing. I'll definitely make it a habit to come here whenever I'm in the area. I also got a gel pedicure done by Tammy and she followed my requests perfectly. She took her time, was super detailed, and did a great job. Highly recommend!

What seemed to have been a nice nail set quickly proved otherwise. I was very displeased with this set...granted it was my first visit I was definitely expecting better considering the reviews. The shape is inconsistent and very stubby, the acrylic wasn't taken to the top and is very uneven/bumpy ....it already looks as if it needs a fill. To then be told this set cost $75...I was shocked. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

Kevin did another thorough job, this time for my birthday nails! It was time for the Valentines gel nails to go, which surprisingly lasted a good 3 weeks with minimal chipping (compared to another place where it started cracking / flaking off within a week). I originally wanted to do a regular polish (for ease of diy removal before another gel appointment for a special occasion / spring break travel later) but I got talked into gel ($45 vs $35), and glad I went with it. The vibe was quieter this Friday afternoon and I was able to walk in after checking for availability on yelp. Loved the shape & how the color turned out (#240 Mermaid - Sea Seashell).

This was day two of my search for a nail salon that would be able to create the design that I wanted, and I'm glad that I waited. Ly helped me with my nail design as she saw the picture I had, and proceeded by bringing out a container of glitter and Jewel assortments. A nice man helped me with my pedicure. Initially, the color that I picked wasn't as lovely in person so he helped me pick another one. He also noticed that that my toenail had a crack and so he helped glue it back together. Overall, I am glad that I came here today. It was a relaxing experience and the people were very helpful.

I only put 1 point off because it would be nice if all the nail technicians also paint the tip of the nails. I have a photo for reference but literally thats it. I've been coming here for a few years now and appreciate how they are always willing to accommodate appointments even if it's last minute. Kevin is amazing and I always love how my nails turn out when he does them, he does the most thorough job, takes a lot of care, and I find that he does the best job at shaping nails. I also feel he is the least judgmental which I also appreciate. Uyen, Mai and Jenny seem to do a good job too. Someone mentioned in a previous review that it was warm in the salon, but the temperature was nice and cool when I recently came in which was lovely on a warm day. Also, I wish the ladies who worked there would be a bit more mindful about clients who don't want "gel" though. Not everyone wants that. read more

I called Priti (P-R-I-T-I) the receptionist at 1:00 PM to ask if the threading specialist I like was available. She told me yes, the specialist was available today and also tomorrow. Priti said that was fine and told me there were no appointments scheduled, so I could come in anytime. At 2:35 PM, I called back to confirm that I would be coming and asked if there was an appointment available. She said they had an opening at 3:15 PM. I said that would work. She then abruptly hung up without taking my name or confirming anything. When I arrived and parked, I called back because I realized she had never taken my name to hold the 3:15 appointment. I had my seven-year-old daughter with me, who is sick, so I wanted to be sure the appointment was secured before bringing her inside. Priti told me she could not put my name down unless I physically came into the salon. I did not understand why my name could not simply be written down over the phone, especially since she was the one who hung up without confirming details. Then she started to say, show me your car .. I will come out to see you in your car so I know you are here. I got frustrated because why would I want anyone to see my car when I'm trying to give her my name for the appointment?! She said she doesn't believe me that I'm here and calling to put my name on the time, I was so confused! The situation escalated unnecessarily. Instead of resolving it professionally, she involved someone named Neil, who told me they would not service me and that I had to leave. For someone who drives 1.5-2 hours specifically for their services, this level of rudeness and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Clear communication and basic courtesy would have prevented this entire situation. Unfortunately, due to the poor and dismissive customer service, I will not be returning. I will also report this to the business bureau.

I come in once or twice a year, usually before a beach type vacation to get my back waxed. They have always had someone at the front desk when I walk in, but not this last visit. Let me mentioned before getting into it, the place is always clean, the entrance, Hallway and wax rooms. The wax service is always fast, professional and as relaxing as it can be getting waxed. I never had a scheduling problem until now either. This last experience was not good. I arrived at 1030 my scheduled time, but no one was at the front desk, but I could hear someone talking on the phone in the room behind the desk. I waited 5 minutes figuring they would come out, but no, so I start to ask if anyone here? No response for 2-3 min, so I asked again, then a lady with black and purple hair comes out of the room and say someone will be right with me and turns back around into the room to continue to talk on the phone, as if I was bothering her at work!! Then a few minutes later, another person comes out from down the hall (I think she was actually with a client) and asked if I have been helped, I said no and told her my appointment was at 1030, she tells me the appointment was at 1040 (this was at 1042, already past my apparently rescheduled appointment) and said someone will be with me shortly. Then the other lady that was talking on the phone comes out from the room behind the desks. I sat there about 5 more mins until my wax person arrives, say sorry for being late, and gets ready (it appears they changed the appointment because the wax person was running late), they never told me they changed the appointment time (no text like all the other notifications, which I like from this place). The appointment was never changed on the website, only locally, maybe they just lied for her, and told me 10:40. Oh and no one ever came out of the room behind the desk after the phone call lady, while I was waiting for my room to be ready. It was clearly a personal call at work and she didn't want to be bothered at work. At the end, I still tipped, against my better judgement, a lower 10% rather that the usually 20%. The wax person was late, but apologized. I think I will return because up until this time it has been great, but not sure.

I've been a loyal client at Ken's Nails for over three years now, and I cannot recommend this place enough. From the office manager to the staff, everyone here genuinely cares about their clients. Their customer service is unmatched--they always go the extra mile to accommodate appointments and provide the best possible experience. Recently, there was a little miscommunication on the length I wanted for my nails and it's nobody's fault, I was a bit confusing with my request. While they still looked beautiful and perfect, they were a different length than I expected. After I mentioned this the next day, the team immediately reached out, offering to fix them to ensure I was completely satisfied. I didn't need them fixed since they still looked great, but the fact that they were so proactive about making sure I was happy really stood out to me. No other nail salon has ever gone that far, and it proved to me that Ken's Nails truly cares about their clients. They understand how important nails are to a woman's energy and self-confidence. The entire staff here is incredibly hardworking, dedicated, and attentive, making sure every customer leaves happy. What's amazing is that over time, they get to know your personal style and preferences, which makes every visit feel even more special. Still, it's always helpful to show your nail tech a picture or idea of what you want, as they see so many clients each day with different requests, and it ensures you get the exact look you're going for. This place is racist and incompetent. They argue with customers (especially Black customers) for asking for what you want. They only want to do what they want. I asked the nail tech Kim to cut a little shorter and keep the same shape and she got an attitude with me after pretending she didn't understand English. She kept insisting that I told her I wanted my nails shorter even after I told her she cut them too short. Then she asked the lady at the register Michelle to come over and starts lying and saying that I'm not letting her do her job. Anytime I tried to express myself they both over talked me. Kim started to get disrespectful when I reminded her I was the customer and I should be able to ask for what I want. They started being racist. Michelle even told me I was drama and unladylike like for asking to speak to a manager and voicing my complaint. I will never come back to this nail shop. They only want to do whatever they want to your nails and they have no respect for Black customers. Do not come here if you are Black or if you like being treated with respect. When I asked to speak to the manager they said the manager did not agree to speak to me. They are hostile and completely racist. read more

I had such an amazing experience at Ken Nails and genuinely can't recommend them enough. From the moment I walked in, the service was professional, welcoming, and attentive. Anna did my nails using the poly form/builder gel method (the plastic form technique), and she absolutely exceeded my expectations. She was kind, gentle, patient, and incredibly detail-oriented throughout the entire appointment. My nails came out BEAUTIFUL -- the shape, structure, and finish were flawless. You can really tell she takes pride in her work and cares about her clients being happy. The woman who did my pedicure was also wonderful, even though I unfortunately didn't catch her name. She was thorough, professional, and made the experience so relaxing. My pedicure came out perfect as well. Honestly, this was one of the best salon experiences I've had in the Bay Area. I'm a regular so I brought my cousins and sisters here for our wedding nails and wow they are AMAZING. They were so happy with the services. We made the appointment beforehand and they were very organized. They offered us complimentary drinks such as coffee, water, tea, and even wine (both red and white)! We brought champagne . They were all very welcoming and sweet. They helped us choose colors, designs, and even explained different types of manicure. Ohhh and the best were the deluxe pedicures. 10/10 would recommend, they had the paraffin wax, sugar scrubs, callus treatments, and a longer massage. I LOVE the hot stones. Store wise, they remodeled the place! We came back and got confused if we were at the right salon HAHAAA but they got new chairs and tables. I always have a great experience at Ken Nail Spa! The service is consistently excellent, and the staff is both friendly and professional. Jenny does an amazing job with my tap gel and French manicure -- she's incredibly detail-oriented and always makes sure everything looks perfect. Cam also gives a fantastic pedicure; I always leave feeling relaxed and well taken care of. My mom has visited as well and had a wonderful experience. Ken no longer owns the salon so don't think your going to get the great service and perfect nails that he provided--- and they raised the prices. I thought I would give them a try as it is close to my home but it was the worse nail fill I have ever had. The girl took almost 2 hours to do the fill, the white was uneven and the top coat was not spread on evenly. I tried to tell the owner that I was not happy with the service and all of a sudden she didn't understand what I was saying. I left and went elsewhere to have them redone.( yes they were that bad!!) My manicure chipped as soon as I got home. I let my nails fully dry before leaving the salon and they still chipped right away. Their polish looked kind of cheap and it applied pretty clumpy. I think the nail technician realized it too because she added something to the polish to thin it out. I'm guessing it was acetone. When they hand you the book of nail colors and ask you to pick your color - don't do it! Go to the polish wall and select opi or an Essie polish or skip this place altogether. I ignored the negative reviews on this yelp page and now I wasted $25. read more

I love, love, love this place! They are professional, on time, affordable- and their work is amazing. I'm so glad I found this place. I used to wear acrylic nails j college and I would lose a few within a week. After 10years, I decided to wear gels this time, and I and so glad I did. I can wear these for 3 weeks before I come in and they last. Not to mention, their design skills are amazing, I can bring a picture of anything and theu can copy it.
