    Kevin did another thorough job, this time for my birthday nails! It was time for the Valentines gel nails to go, which surprisingly lasted a good 3 weeks with minimal chipping (compared to another place where it started cracking / flaking off within a week). I originally wanted to do a regular polish (for ease of diy removal before another gel appointment for a special occasion / spring break travel later) but I got talked into gel ($45 vs $35), and glad I went with it. The vibe was quieter this Friday afternoon and I was able to walk in after checking for availability on yelp. Loved the shape & how the color turned out (#240 Mermaid - Sea Seashell).

    Just a quick update to my prior reviews. They still offer great service. The technicians are friendly and do a great job. The shop is clean and bright. The massage chairs are comfortable and work great.

    What seemed to have been a nice nail set quickly proved otherwise. I was very displeased with this set...granted it was my first visit I was definitely expecting better considering the reviews. The shape is inconsistent and very stubby, the acrylic wasn't taken to the top and is very uneven/bumpy ....it already looks as if it needs a fill. To then be told this set cost $75...I was shocked. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

    This was day two of my search for a nail salon that would be able to create the design that I wanted, and I'm glad that I waited. Ly helped me with my nail design as she saw the picture I had, and proceeded by bringing out a container of glitter and Jewel assortments. A nice man helped me with my pedicure. Initially, the color that I picked wasn't as lovely in person so he helped me pick another one. He also noticed that that my toenail had a crack and so he helped glue it back together. Overall, I am glad that I came here today. It was a relaxing experience and the people were very helpful.

    Got my nails done again. Great service! This time I got my nails done by a guy at the nail salon and my nails turned out great again! It's really cool how they can do so many nail designs and have a clean, spacious environment. Would definitely recommend and come again and again!

    Gel manicure

    Six years later, and I am still coming to Ken Nails! They have updated with new decor, new chairs, and a great selection of colors for paint and gel. Julie is still as fantastic as ever. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who is looking for quality, art, and care for their nails.

    Came back for a pedicure and enjoyed all the steps they took to ensure a clean experience. Light massaging and scrubbing of the feet as well. I also like that they prop their door open for ventilation so there isn't much of a strong nail polish scent.

    I find the massage chairs to be comfortable. You're able to adjust the position of the rollers, etc.., which can make a big difference depending on how tall or short you are.

    There's only 3-4 people who do acrylic fills - you won't be disappointed with any! Annie is very meticulous and so is Ken, but Tammy won't disappoint either.

    When I went for a brand new set with gel color it was only $33. They do amazing work so its a good bang for your buck.

    - Extremely Poor Customer Service…read more I am very disappointed with my experience at Threads Beauty Bar. I called Priti (P-R-I-T-I) the receptionist at 1:00 PM to ask if the threading specialist I like was available. She told me yes, the specialist was available today and also tomorrow. I explained that I live an hour and a half away and specifically drive out for this particular service provider because she does great work. Priti said that was fine and told me there were no appointments scheduled, so I could come in anytime. At 2:35 PM, I called back to confirm that I would be coming and asked if there was an appointment available. She said they had an opening at 3:15 PM. I said that would work. She then abruptly hung up without taking my name or confirming anything. When I arrived and parked, I called back because I realized she had never taken my name to hold the 3:15 appointment. I had my seven-year-old daughter with me, who is sick, so I wanted to be sure the appointment was secured before bringing her inside. Priti told me she could not put my name down unless I physically came into the salon. I did not understand why my name could not simply be written down over the phone, especially since she was the one who hung up without confirming details. Then she started to say, show me your car .. I will come out to see you in your car so I know you are here. I got frustrated because why would I want anyone to see my car when I'm trying to give her my name for the appointment?! She said she doesn't believe me that I'm here and calling to put my name on the time, I was so confused! The situation escalated unnecessarily. Instead of resolving it professionally, she involved someone named Neil, who told me they would not service me and that I had to leave. For someone who drives 1.5-2 hours specifically for their services, this level of rudeness and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Clear communication and basic courtesy would have prevented this entire situation. Unfortunately, due to the poor and dismissive customer service, I will not be returning. I will also report this to the business bureau.

Walked in and was pleasantly surprised at how big it was inside and all the services they offer. I come in once or twice a year, usually before a beach type vacation to get my back waxed. They have always had someone at the front desk when I walk in, but not this last visit. Let me mentioned before getting into it, the place is always clean, the entrance, Hallway and wax rooms. The wax service is always fast, professional and as relaxing as it can be getting waxed. I never had a scheduling problem until now either. This last experience was not good. I arrived at 1030 my scheduled time, but no one was at the front desk, but I could hear someone talking on the phone in the room behind the desk. I waited 5 minutes figuring they would come out, but no, so I start to ask if anyone here? No response for 2-3 min, so I asked again, then a lady with black and purple hair comes out of the room and say someone will be right with me and turns back around into the room to continue to talk on the phone, as if I was bothering her at work!! Then a few minutes later, another person comes out from down the hall (I think she was actually with a client) and asked if I have been helped, I said no and told her my appointment was at 1030, she tells me the appointment was at 1040 (this was at 1042, already past my apparently rescheduled appointment) and said someone will be with me shortly. Then the other lady that was talking on the phone comes out from the room behind the desks. I sat there about 5 more mins until my wax person arrives, say sorry for being late, and gets ready (it appears they changed the appointment because the wax person was running late), they never told me they changed the appointment time (no text like all the other notifications, which I like from this place). The appointment was never changed on the website, only locally, maybe they just lied for her, and told me 10:40. Oh and no one ever came out of the room behind the desk after the phone call lady, while I was waiting for my room to be ready. It was clearly a personal call at work and she didn't want to be bothered at work. At the end, I still tipped, against my better judgement, a lower 10% rather that the usually 20%. The wax person was late, but apologized. I think I will return because up until this time it has been great, but not sure.
