Me and my fiancé are horrified with our experience. The staff were BLATANTLY racist towards my fiancé. He is from out of state and ordered a beer. The waitress took his license to her manager claiming that she had to for out of state licenses. I call absolute bull. We have NEVER been asked this before. Then the general manager sends another woman out to ask him for a credit card just to confirm it's him. She tells me it's the general managers policy. My fiancé looks exactly like his picture, and the lady was accusing him of have an id that was not his. He was the only person of color in the entire restaurant and he felt so put out of place and uncomfortable we had to leave. He even showed her his credit card and proved it was his id. We waited 15 minutes for them to return with his i'd and then for her to ask him to prove it was him? We just decided to leave and not even get his drink. I visited twice during my stay because they were close to the hotel. The chicken wings were good and the buffalo sauce has just the right amount of kick. On my second visit I had the cheesesteak sandwich which was great. The meat was tender and the onion rings finished it off perfectly. read more

This has been the second time I've had a bad experience here the service is slow and the food was wrong!! Again!!! I order a steak medium rare and it was medium well I'm sorry but I can't eat a steak that taste like I'm eating a tire. We were looking for a place to get a group of friends together after a movie and decided to try Sidelines since it is close by. They have a decent selection of drinks at the bar but the food is fair at best. The wings were soggy and the sauce seemed to just be poured on top. The potato skins were very under cooked and the spicy cheese dip was bland and not the slightest bit spicy. The best thing we had were the fried pickles. The service was good and the atmosphere wasn't bad especially for the group size. If the food was better I would consider coming back. read more

First time walking in and it was 10:45pm they decided to close @ 11:00pm during the weekend we did not even had the chance to have a beer when even they had the bar full. Will never come back. Sidelines used to be great...about a year ago. My husband and I would visit every week. Now? I wouldn't send my enemy there. The service is HORRIBLE. Even when they aren't full, you're lucky if you can get a drink order in. You wait...and wait...and wait some more, and oh - here are your drinks. You order food. Same waiting game. IF your food is hot, that's a plus. IF your order is right, that's a plus. Be prepared to wait even longer for your check or to have ANYONE even come by your table. A gentleman that was there before us was just about to leave without paying because he had attempted to flag down a staff member multiple times. He actually stood up, waving his credit card in his hand to get someone's attention. I e-mailed a complaint on their website and had an automated, "oh we're sorry for your experience. My wife and I have been going in for at least once a week for the last several months. Most times the food was good and service was fine. The last 2 times , the food was not up to the same standards previously. Today, we went in around 5pm and to be expected the place had maybe a third full. We were seated and then ignored. After 15 minutes my wife an I got up and left and as we were leaving the 3 at the hostess desk barely looked up as I let them know we never got waited on. Either way we won't ever go back. Not very busy so you really don't have to wait. But that is where the good points stop for me. I ordered regular chicken nachos which werent great, mostly chips with a minimal amount of chicken etc on top. There was a baby shower going on upstairs and apparently every server in the house was busy for that. It took forever to order, to get our food and once we did we never saw our server again. I am going to say at the start that we will be going there again soon and I would recommend Sidelines Grille as a casual place to go for a good meal. I was a little apprehensive about go to the Canton Sidelines Grill base on one of the recent reviews about the service. But I figured you have to make a judgement based on all the reviews and keep in mind that everyone has a bad day. I am going to say a lot about the service because one of the reviewers complained about it. I will say in advance the waitress and service we had was above average. We had the greeter seat us and get our drinks because the waitress was quite busy. The drinks were brought by another person and then our waitress came to take our order. I have to say that it took longer than I would have expected for the food to come out based on the number of people there but not an unacceptable amount of time. It was worth the wait. The food was very good and you could tell it was not sitting around on a heating station waiting to be picked up. The waitress was very good and checked in with us more than enough times during the meal. Any extra condiments and thinks like limes or lemons that we requested after the food was delivered very quickly. My wife had one of their burger and said it was very good. I had the fish and chips and as bread fish goes was very good, light not greasy and very good quality. I also like the chips which were thick slices potatoes that must have been fresh made in the kitchen, unusually crisp for thick chips. The lobster bis soup was very good and had a good amount of lobster meat you could in it. The coleslaw was fresh and towards the sweet side low on vinegar. I like my coleslaw with more vinegar but it was fresh and good, just not my style. There you have it my thought process for giving them a "Yay! I'm a fan" rating. read more

My friend and I went there on a Thursday night expecting to have a good time but was let down. They got rid of the upstairs and only have the bar downstairs. It was kind of dark and oddly quiet. My friend and I were the youngest guests at the bar at ages 23 and 21. The next youngest was about 40. Nothing wrong with old people at a bar, it just wasn't the age bracket I remembered Sidelines having two years back. The bartender was a nice woman, gave us prompt, pleasant service and got our drinks out reasonably quick (and correct) considering she was tending to the entire full bar. My friend and I split an order of fried pickles. They took a little bit longer to come out and I wasn't really impressed. The portion was ridiculously small, the pickles were obviously jarred, and sloppily fried and stuck together. But, the batter was decent so I didn't mind finishing them. The music was a bit too quiet and all over the place, but what they did play was a good selection. Over all, Sidelines isn't a horrible place, it's just not the place to go if you're more into the lively crowd looking to get rowdy. Tried to like this place, really did, but the service is horrid, & the food worse, and it's only going down hill. The last time we went is the last time we'll go! The loud abusive cussing smokers next to the front door set the tone last time, the waiter's service was awful, the food was cold, the order incorrect, & the ubiquitous 15% mandatory tip iced the cake. The food, some of it, is not bad but it's very inconsistent. Last night I order burgers for take out with NO PICKLES!!! Every time I say no pickles, and every time they keep including them and I can't have my burger. Then I always order sweet potato fries as a side and they include 7 to 8 pieces -no kidding!! So depending on how hungry I am, sometimes I order an extra order of sweet potato fries. Well, if you order an extra one, they'll give you a huge order of sweet potato fries and another huge order on the side. I can't eat them all, but at least get a decent portion. This also helps me with the other problem: half their sweet potato fries are undercooked and the other half is saggy, so with the double order I can pick and chose :) Pasta dishes are fine. We have been going to Sidelines for over two years now on Sundays when we do not get the Steelers games. Today, we went there for our usual outting and were completely unwelcome!! We always see the game on the same side in front of the big screen. Sadly, we had been demoted to the other side of the room to a tv screen with no sound! We were told that the Falcons and Vikings games took presidence (even though the Falcons game was on network tv!) and that we were just going to have to live with it! Sidelines advertises itself as a Steelers bar, but today, they showed they clearly are not! We travel 45 minutes to go there and drop a pretty hefty amount on bar and food tab each time. Sorry to say that we did not stick around (neither did any of the other fans who were there) and we now have a new Steeler bar, Twisted Taco. Sidelines, you should treat your paying customers better! read more

This restaurant has had issues in the past with poor staff and they resolved it quickly. The bottom line is that the food is GREAT, the atmosphere is GREAT, the owners/managers are GREAT and the thorns in their sides (prior staff that alone tried to sink the place) are gone. Without fail, I would say that this restaurant ranks as one of the absolute best in the area. Everything is fresh, everything is reasonably priced, and the owners/managers actually care.
