Rocco's is a staple in Jasper. It's hoping on the weekends with live music and an extensive bar menu. During the week, you'll see everyone from older couples to families to friends or coworkers dining together. I l love to pick the table nearest the outdoor fireplace s the inside is really dark. They have a decent room to book for groups/birthday parties, too. The food is overall delicious- especially the reuben, fish and chips and my husband likes the Brunswick Stew. The service is generally really good and not overly friendly- it's a bar and they are busy. Not so busy that you need to wait for a table or food though. It's run like a well-oiled machine! I I've tried just a bit everything on the menu so as for a recommendation if you're not sure.i also love they do special events for the community as well like the animal shelter ands the local police auxiliary. If I could leave negative stars I would. We made reservations one month ago for 8 people. we arrived to find out that our table was two four tops. When we tried to get moved to an open 8 top we were asked to move. We stood up and the 8 top was promptly changed to two 4 tops. The owner was incredibly rude and disrespectful. We will not be back. As a local Jasper resident this is very disappointing. This place has gone downhill since the original owner died. Save yourself the drive because they treat you horribly and tell you to leave. We were not aggressive and tried to mitigate the situation but were rudely approached and told if we didn't like it to "get out". Our favorite time to visit is about 7 on Saturday night. It is just starting to fill up so no problem getting a seat. We like their French dip the best but have tried about everything. The servers are attentive and "smiley". The live band comes on at 8. We are usually nursing an adult beverage by then. Our favorite bands play southern rock and country but they have bands playing different genres. There is a dance floor and it seems there are a lot of locals. So glad we finally stopped in to try this place after driving by many times. The mozzarella sticks were recommended as some of the best around and we were so impressed by these. We also went on a Monday which has wings on special with 10 wings and fries. We had crispy chipotle and crispy lemon pepper with the crispy lemon pepper wings the favorite by far. The fries were also very very good. This will definitely be a place we stop in to try more off the menu in the near future. There's a nice sized bar area, outdoor/indoor seating, live music nights, trivia nights, specials, takeout, and overall just a great experience. First time visit. Nice motorcycle ride up 575 for us. A little after 1:00 on a Sunday and they are semi-busy. Regardless, we immediately got a table. We were waited on immediately as well. The staff is very impressive! There seem to be more than ample wait staff. The menu is huge... typical biker bar stuff yes, but more specialty plates as well. They do take there food seriously! My Rueben sandwich was huge and plenty of flavor. My wife had chicken fingers. They brought out 3 different dips for her. Also noticed how clean it was. There are fans, stage lights, speakers and other stuff suspended from the ceiling. No dust appeared on any of it! Very impressive! I've been to many a "biker bar" kinda places where there's probably one dude in back with a fryer and bags of frozen "food"... Rocco's is not that place. We'll be back! read more

Had lunch with neighbors today. Asked server to return as we weren't quite ready to order. We flagged her down 15 minutes later. During this time she was out talking to someone in a truck in the lot. Food was good however I subbed a loaded baked potato for fries. Server had handheld computer which she presented to me for payment. Total seemed high. I asked for a paper bill so I could see what's what. Well I expected a 2.00 up charge for my potato but not that and an additional 5.95. Neighbor also charges this. Sooo 7.95 for sub loaded baked potato. The server got 10 taken off after a rather unpleasant situation. Nuff said. read more

Man oh man. If baby boomer was a restaurant. I wouldn't recommend you give this food to your dog on their death bed, because it would for damn sure send your poor pup over to the other side. This food is terrible. If your favorite flavor is mayonnaise with a waft of smelly old drunk men, this place is for you. I don't know what possessed me to order the "blackened" mahi sandwich in the middle of Jasper Georgia, but I did. Now you might ask, Edina, why is blackened in quotation marks? Well, dear reader I'll tell you. The fish on that sandwich tasted like the cook accidentally dropped it in the grease trap on the grill and rubbed it off on a lemon peel before dropping it again onto the floor, before it sadly, eventually, made it to the floppy sad oversized bun. Then I doubled down with my mistake by ordering the "mixed vegetables". Now what I expected was some nicely grilled veggies with maybe a god damn hint of black pepper, but no. Those sad veggies that a whole entire plant had to die for were just microwaved bagged frozen unseasoned veggies. My server seemed like she just popped out of the Rocco's Incubator which I'm pretty sure is kept behind the main stage (Where sadly, the worst band to ever exist was playing. Those guys played a terrible array of every 70s-90s white people song to ever exist. The only thing with less soul than the veggies was this band.) The ambiance in the restaurant feels like if you were at your weird uncle Leroy's house and he wanted to show you the new growth on his sack. Even the carrots have MOLD...the food took forever, the appetizer came together with the entree and when I ordered " chopped steak" I got a burger patty with some onions thrown on it... Rocco's is ok in my opinion. There are a lot of bikers there on the weekends it's kinda iffy. Not the kind of place that I would bring my kids. The food is ok nothing special. I'm normally a big fan of Rocco's. Been going there for years, normally with 8-10 other people. They've implemented a policy on large groups, to add a fixed gratuity to the bill, whether you pay as one bill or individually. This was communicated to us, but not the amount/% as we ordered. When it came time to pay (yesterday we each paid individually), I asked (as well as others) what the tip amount we had prepaid. Average bill was something like $15-$17. Repeatedly the server suggested we had each paid $1 or $2 dollars and she said her screen really didn't quote the exact amount. So most of us added $3-$4 more. Of course when I got the text after I paid I realized we had 20% automatically added, and with the $3 I added beyond that she received something like a 35% tip. Pretty good for a burger, and a beer. Rocco's please be honest, and also train your wait staff to communicate the tip % and such. I have no issue with preset gratuity for large parties, just the way this was handled. This guy is seriously considering taking his social group elsewhere for lunch. read more

We moved to Jasper in 2014 and felt lucky as can be to have Rocco's so close to home. Every meal was great, the atmosphere was great, the beer was great, and the staff was great. Fast-forward a few years. I hate to say this, but it seems like as soon as the number of motorcycles in the parking lot began to grow, the quality of Rocco's started to fall off and prices went up. Nothing against the bikers - but it seems like Rocco's began catering to the 2-wheel crowd with activities and a place to gather, and let the quality of their food slack off in the process. And I'm not saying that the food or service is bad, it just fell into mediocrity. Where we used to visit every week or two, I'm lucky to get in once or twice a year now. That said, I always had a few favorites: The Roc-Chop, breaded pork sandwich, is something that few others offer. It was one of the first things I had there, and still enjoy it. The Chili Burger is another - bet you can't eat it without a fork and knife! Fried pickles are another favorite. The beer selection is always good, too. Local craft beers on tap gets me every time! Weeknights are best to avoid the crowds that move in every weekend. Karaoke night is always entertaining. I'm due for another visit soon - I'll follow up if it's any different than the last few visits. read more
