Our group was eating here and we have in the past but today we had about the same amount of people ( 10 ) it took about 1 hour and 40 for our food or longer. Our waitress was sweet. When our food finally came out it was not hot. We stressed our concerns to the waitress and she told us they were trying to get the people inside and ours done ( which they should know how to multitask and it's only hotdogs, chicken sandwiches and hamburgers) that they serve. We asked for the manager then she said they have a small grill that can only cook 6 patties at a time and that our waitress was new. Basically she should not have put a new waitress on our table alone knowing she was new 2 people should have been assigned to our table until she can do it alone. The manager did give everyone 50% off each bill. We have to set up our employees up to succeed not fail. We are outside and it was nice. read more

Neighborhood tavern vibe out in Jasper/North GA. Love the drive out here, and love the food even more. Service is small town gracious and always properly attentive. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich with tomato basil soup and my husband got the bourbon bacon burger with grits. Both delicious, and not a long wait for food (or table). We have sat on patio both times we have come, and were able to enjoy some local live music both times too. It was chilly out so we sat under a heater and I always really appreciate when businesses have those outside so that you can still enjoy the fresh air over a nice meal. I was really looking forward to trying Old Mulehouse during my vacation in Georgia. I even checked out their website ahead of time, and the menu looked great -- nowhere did it mention anything about brunch on Sundays. So imagine my surprise when we arrived and were handed a very limited brunch menu with maybe six brunch entrees total, half of which were seafood. Not ideal if you're not a seafood person. It didn't get better from there. It took over 10 minutes before a server even came to our table, and the place wasn't overly busy. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, I got the French onion soup, and my friend ordered a burger and fries. The appetizer was a letdown, and I didn't care much for the soup. The crouton bread piece was humongous, and there wasn't much actual soup in the bowl. While my friend did like her burger and fries, we both felt the portions were small and overpriced for what we received. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially considering how promising the website made the menu look (that southern brisket "reuben" looked delicious!). I wish their website had been more accurate, and unfortunately, the food and service just didn't make up for the letdown. read more

Stopped in at the Old Mulehouse with some friends after leaving the Jeep Fest in Jasper. We caught them at just before 3pm, so it was on the edge of Sunday Brunch and Sunday dinner menus, so the server waffles a bit between what to do. After the slight awkwardness, we did a mix between the 2 menus amongst the 4 of us. When the smoked salmon hash arrived for me, it smelled great and tasted great. It felt like it needed a little something on the side to complete the dish, but it was good enough. The other dishes looked good, and I really liked the abundance of fries on their plates. The industrial atmosphere inside was unique and appealing. Unfortunately, the spiral ductwork above the table was sweating, and I was getting a drop on my shirt and head about every 30 seconds; kind of a pain, but I just dealt with it for whatever reason. Super cool restaurant & event space!! Great bar, cold drinks & most staff smile. Had to wait just a few for our patio table, so got drinks at that bar to start. 5 adult beverages was around $45. Sat on the cute patio (wish I had a pic). Relaxed & enjoyed my company. We were guests, and our family said they come all the time- They love it! Oh, my son was here before too & liked it a lot. Food was really good! I had fish & chips (no pic). Fish could have been seasoned a little more, but lite & delicious!! The FRIES are amazing!!! My guys got a grilled brisket sandwich & my sister-in-law got a salad & Gyro- VERY GOOD said everyone!! I see they have event space. I'd rent if needed & lived closer!! Went this past Saturday, 10/24. Hostess seemed put out and miserable in her job. I ordered a burger, medium to medium well...wife ordered caeser salad with chicken. Took a while for order to come out, even though it wasn't that crowded. Wife did not enjoy her salad and ate only the chicken. My burger was rare to medium rare. Could only eat a few bites on edges and gave up. The very small amount of fries I was given were luke warm at best. Very disappointed, but given how long we had already been there and the fact we had somewhere to be, I didn't send back or complain. Suffice to say will not be eating there again. read more

This is our first time to old Mule house. Great spot in downtown Jasper with a view if you were sitting outside on the back deck. We went to the Old Mulehouse for an early dinner with two other couples. Two had the brisket Rubin, two had salads, one had fish and chips and one had the shrimp and grits. Everybody loved the food. The waiter was very attentive at the beginning and came around with refills of water during the meal. I always judge the wait staff by how they handle the table during the meal, if my tea is checked on and refilled during the meal. Never came to my end of the table and never offered to refill. Negative. The ambiance was great and we were able carry on a conversation without yelling down the table. We will go back for the food and hopefully better service. read more

We've been eating here since it opened but never had brunch before. Never will again. I ordered Eggs Benedict and asked for them to be cooked firm. The waitress said that couldn't be done but offered a "sunny side up" instead. That's not a Benedict. I said just please ask. I've ordered them that way dozens of times elsewhere and never had an issue. When it arrived, it was cold and even the whites were liquid. I asked if they could be microwaved and was told they didn't have a microwave. Ate a couple bites off the outside and couldn't eat anymore. My guests (5 in our party) ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken was overcooked and the waffles were dark brown. They aren't complainers so they just ate what they could. After I pointed out my runny egg whites I was given $11.00 off a $23.00 plate of raw food. I'll be back for cocktails but never for brunch. We had a choice of Mulehouse or Woodbridge. Found this cool place in Jasper last night and the food did not disappoint. I started with the French onion soup. The cheese had a nice crust and the bread & broth were fabulous. For the main course I selected the trout dish. It was fresh with a crispy pecan crust, paired with mash potatoes and veggies. The staff, although very friendly, seemed a little disjointed and, at times, seem to forget I was even there. They didn't seem clear on who was taking care of my table either. The place seemed new, so I'm not sure if they are still working on their service their rhythm. Work on that and this place will be 5 starts all the way. I was really not bothered since I was catching up with emails after a long trip back from Vegas and didn't really notice most times. The place has a lively bar, a cute outside sitting area, and I believe I saw a live music setup. I would recommend this place if you ever find yourself in downtown Jasper. read more

Went for a birthday celebration ( we have been several times) last night. Great server Mason waited on us and was very pleasant. Appetizers were fantastic (mussels and the whipped feta dip). Gyro and the steak fries were yummy. Two of us ordered the salmon which was undercooked, sent back but still not right. The manager came over and made it right (busy night but it happens). Let me begin with the positive. The food here was very good. My friend and I shared the mushroom burger and her husband had the shrimp and grits. All was delicious! The problem was that we waited over an hour for our food. I don't know if the kitchen was understaffed or what but it was an unreasonable amount of time for a burger. While the waitress was very sweet, we felt a bit forgotten about. Maybe she had too many tables; I don't know but I do know waiting tables is tough. The winners of the Worst Attitude Award were the hostesses. There was a 30 minute wait so one of them took my friend's number but she wrote it down wrong. After about 30 minutes, he went in to check our status. She said, we texted you and you didn't respond so we gave away your table. When he asked her to read back the number she had, she had written it down wrong. Begrudgingly and with attitude, she offered another table. Some of the patrons had complained that it was too warm. They turned on the fan so high that it blew out the candle on the table and, had my silverware not been on our napkins, those would've been on the floor. When I asked the other hostess to see if they could turn the fans down she said OK. Several minutes passed and when I followed up with her, she looked at me and said with a raised voice, "It's very busy, give me a minute!" Having worked as a waiter for many years, I couldn't believe she spoke to me that way. In summary, the food....very good!! The vibe....OK! The wait staff....pretty good! My wife and I have dined here a few times before, both with small groups and just the two of us. The food has always been pretty good. Tonight, we decided to have a belated Valentines dinner. We were seated promptly and the waitress was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was not good. The macaroni and cheese balls were tasty, but lukewarm, my hamburger was dry and tasteless, the fries, lukewarm. My wife had the Beef Bourguignon which was okay. The desert was the Valentine Charcuterie. Everything was soggy as if it was prepared yesterday. The entrees were served before we had finished our appetizer. Rustic chic with exposed pipes and interesting decor in downtown Jasper. I tried this place when I first moved to Jasper and didn't care for their menu which was eclectic but not very good. The prices were unreasonably high and the food was weird. Fast forward 3 years and the interesting decor is unchanged but the menu was completely overhauled. The menu items were spectacular with a brisket grilled cheese sandwich that was fresh, and rich with crispy French fries and an excellent attentive staff. Make sure to ask for Riley Bush for your server. This place which was once marginal has been transformed by a simple menu change. Don't hesitate to grab a meal here.
