We were road tripping today and stopped in the Dahlonega. After several referrals to Spirts Tavern we decided to give it a try. First off thank you to our server Mattie for taking great care of us throughout our dinning experience. We started off our meal with the Mac and Cheese bites Mattie suggested and they were delicious. Then we moved on to our main courses. I went with the All American Chili Burger and fries that were very good. My better half went for the turkey burger and pasta salad enjoying every bite. We had the grilled cheese today. It was not so good and overpowered by the poor seed oil they used to cook with. I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. We went then and this weekend we went back again for lunch before we toured the Dahlanega square. After walking around the Square and reading the reviews on yelp, I decided to try Spirits Tavern. I was not disappointed. The interior of the restaurant has a cool theme in the way that they combined ghoulish spirits from the afterlife with a full bar of spirits for alcoholic beverages. Everyone I spoke with, including Cole and Rose at the bar, and Bella outside at the hostess stand, highly recommended the burgers. I was initially drawn to the gooey burger Which sounds like the ultimate cheesy burger. I was also interested in trying the mac & cheese bites based upon the high number of reviews that mentioned this starter on the menu. I decided to go with the rude awakening burger, and Cole the bartender pointed out that I could order the mac & cheese bites as a premium side. It was pretty much the perfect combination. The burgers are made to order, and they Cook the perfect medium rare burger. From the very first bite, I was left with the impression that this might be the best burger I've had in Georgia. We stopped here for a late lunch after exploring the area. We got in right away, a little break in what seems to be a heavy stream of business. Fried Mac and cheese not that great I ordered a dinner that included the Mac and cheese again I was disappointed.

We stopped here in this precious town square for lunch on our way to do a section hike on the AT. We were pretty hungry and everything looked good. We tried the Kalettes and they were fantastic! I could have eaten a whole other order by myself. My friend and I both got the patty melt on sourdough and they were tasty. My friend had the chili and said it was good and had a little spice. I had the tomato soup and it was just ok. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was laid back. We didn't have any drinks while we were here but would if we were to visit here again. The burgers that other people got also looked really good! We almost drove out of our way to go here again on the way home but we were tired after 40 miles of hiking and wanted to get home.
