This is good ole bar food. Don't get me wrong, just because it's not $70 a plate and perfectly prepared fresh catch or prime steak doesn't mean it doesn't have a vibe and good food. It's just really good bar food favorites. Surprise of the evening. Chips and salsa! Salsa was better than 99% of Mexican restaurants I've frequented . Surprisingly fresh and flavorful. Burgers are always tasty and prepared hot and fresh. My ole go to is the WINGS! However you like yours flavored, they seem to have a knack for good flavors. I just go with buffalo sauce original. Hard to beat. You can also have a nice beer or cocktail if desired. Everything is usually served up to you by the almost stereotypical (in a nice way) young lady with lots of energy and a beautiful smile that's followed by a voice sweeter than the sweet tea. , LOL. All jokes aside, some hard working young ladies who do an excellent job of the not so easy task of serving a full bustling bar/cafe. Worth the $$$ and the visit. read more

Ok my reviews are generally pretty positive. I try to give the benefit of the doubt. The good: our server was really nice. The bathroom was clean. The meh: Service was sporadic. We're pretty sure the chili on the nachos came out of a can. The liquid pooled in the bottom of the plate to it quickly turned into a watery mess. It was gross. The jalitos (jalapeño poppers) had cream cheese in them. You bite into one, the pepper slides out and you're left with a mouth full of battered cream cheese. The salsa was good! It happened on every single one. Lastly, the lemon pepper wings were small and bland. They had a nice crisp but the seasoning didn't stick. The accompanying ranch was flavorless. It was okay but we won't be back. There are so many awesome places around Dahlonega to eat- this just isn't one of them. read more

We came in here late because we were busy and it was too much trouble to cook. Service was decent, even if they were quietly cleaning up for the day. The burgers were good. The chicken sandwich was good. I appreciated the thick slice of onion. The place had a typical sports bar lite vibe. Could compete with something like a TGI Fridays or Ruby Tuesdays. Perfectly acceptable, if not somewhere you'd rush back to. read more

If you want the best burger ever you need look no further than Rooster's Dahlonega. From the first bite to the last, it is a gastronomic delight of epic proportions! The everyday ordinary burger, you will never want to go near again. The matching french fries to go with it were also over-the-top incredible! My daughter enjoyed her meal of chicken sandwich, my brother had the chef salad with the honey mustard, over the top amazing! If you're hungry, this is the place to go, if you pass it and miss it, that's on you! read more

It's always promising when the parking lot is full of local license plates. Very unassuming location. Menu offered a variety of options. Got a quick bite for less than 25.00. Bacon Cheeseburger and Chicken Salad Sandwich. Both were very good, liked that the chicken was shredded and my husband's burger was devoured. Fresh crispy hand cut fries. Thank you Deidra for your hospitality and friendly service for 2 travelers who will stop by again. read more

Great place, will be returning soon. Service was great, waiters came by our table often. Food was hot and fresh. I ordered the 10pc wings with fries both were amazing. The 10/10 place will be coming back. read more

Awesome food! Awesome servers (Haley is the best)! She absolutely takes care of everyone and makes them feel loved!

Stopped here for lunch as we wait to pick up our RV Trailer from Camp Oaks RV. Waitress was Johnny on the spot when we sat down. I had the Rooster Dog with Sauerkraut and Chili, comes with Fries. Chili was good, dog was good could use a smaller bun to put it on. Also the sauerkraut comes in a plastic serving container and it is cold. You have to take two bites to get all the ingredients to meld together. Smaller bun and it would all come together. My wife had the grilled chicken strip salad and enjoyed it was enough for two people. Nice place overall plenty of TV's for watching sporting events. read more

Calm and cozy place. Super great service, was a bit slow to come out. Food was amazing and tastes delicious.

Burgers are good, wings are great, wife loves the fish and the spaghetti. It's one of those local places that usually is packed for lunch and dinner. The wait staff are friendly and they often know everyone who eats there. Daily specials can be great, cheeseburger soup was awesome last week. read more

Long time customer. Always good. Wings and burger always my choices. Good service. Nice employees

I ordered their food through door dash and it was terrible. The wings were old, cold and hard. I ordered the two for one. Both orders were terrible. This food is unedible. I will never trust them again. read more

The food is always good. The servers are all very good and so friendly. They have a great bar staff and it's usually easy to get a seat there when there is a waiting list for a table. The food is just as good at the bar and the service is great. read more

Food and service were both great!!! Started with garlic bread (which was warm and delicious). We all ordered either wings or tenders in various sauces. All six of us were happy with our meals. read more

As a wing connoisseur and a ATLien. The hot flavored wings are some of the best wings I've ever tasted. The flavor stands out it's not just about heat. I love that you get celery with your wings. What's wings without celery! read more

Roosters was a big disappointment I paid $32 plus tax plus a tip and I ordered two sandwiches one was the Swiss and mushroom burger and fries that was suitable it was good and it was plenty of portion then I ordered a patty melt and I received a sandwich with half a piece of Burger on these huge pieces of bread and the cheese melted on the bread not on the patty melt so basically I got a $5 Burger for $15 or whatever if you split the bill I'm attaching pictures very very bad experience and price gouging at its best. What you'd expect from a southern, local favorite....lots of fried foods and unhealthy options. Service is polite. Ambiance is okay, occasional sticky table and somewhat unclean but, again, kinda expected in a southern diner style restsurant. 3-star for food quality and overall experience. read more

Best wings and blue cheese dressing ever. Lived in the area for 18 years, since moved, always get wings and blue cheese to bring back home when we visit. Tried wings all over the country and none compares! read more

Roosters has been a thing for years in the area. They have great wings and great flavors. I will say, their wings run a bit smaller but they pack a punch. I don't know what they do to season their wings but they are above and beyond your typical "deep fried" wings like Buffalo Wild Wings if you catch me. Their dips (ranch and blue cheese) is made in house fresh and always SLAPS. I always ask for extra, then use more the next day. I have only dined in a few times when I lived there, but recently get togo when I happen to be in the area. I now live out of state, but go out of my way to get wings from here. Specially medium and Cajun mixed. I'd suggest adding a side of hot, because medium is not very spicy. More of a mild to me. The service is always wonderful. It is a very country living type place, that makes me feel connected to my roots hahah. I actually had a friend who use to work there and she had nothing but good things to say. read more

I've never eaten at a restaurant where they wouldn't offer to make it right by taking the item off your bill if the food wasn't good, fresh and you didn't eat it, why would you be expected to pay for it!? Rooster's Cafe has a chicken finger salad that a friend of mine ordered on Saturday. It came out with nothing but wilted iceberg lettuce. 90% of it looked like it came from the bottom of a head of lettuce-white, brown and gross looking. She took one bite and had to spit it out. The waitress told us the manager refused to take it off her bill. We asked to see the manager. She approached the table with an attitude and had the nerve to roll her eyes at my friend when she refused a replacement. That one bite grossed her out - who would want another one!? We've eaten there a lot and never had any issues. Whatever happened to customer service? We left without ordering our to go orders for our families. read more

We had seen this place many times during our Home Depot runs. We should have left it at that. This was our first time. I'll give it another shot but if it isn't any better than this, we won't return. We waited quite a while for our order, in excess of 30 minutes, for no more busier they were. I ordered ice tea, it tasted like slightly sweetened water. What we ordered looked way more attractive on the plate than it actually tasted. We ordered the club with fries. It was so incredibly dry with cold wilted toast. No mayo, no offer for any from the waitress either. She just sat the plates down and left. She brought packets of mayo out after being asked. She said they don't put any mayo them. I asked why. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Well, you could have saved yourself some time and effort by being a little transparent. "We don't put mayo on the club but would you like some?" That would be considerate. I can't help from wondering what millennium the oil was changed in the fryer. I even asked the waitress if the fries always come out looking that way and she said yes. They didn't taste burned but crispy they were NOT. Wilted and soggy more defines it. You guys have a long way to go to be good. I think the only reason you're even on the map is because you have a regular bar crowd. Oh and another thing, watch out for the steep service fee they tack on without first advising you of this when you use your debit card. We could have paid cash had our waitress advised us. She suffered the consequences on this one. Keyword folks...transparency. read more

This restaurant is the opposite of perfect, or nice staff. I am a paying customer here and i have came here three times to have a meal. I have nothing against the food or drinks or anything, just the staff.. i was sitting outside in the parking lot and i honked my horn for my friend to hurry up because we had places to be, therefore own of the staff said "we're going to send someone out here to beat your a$$ and she's Puerto Rican if you don't stop." First off, i don't know why race would have anything to do with it and secondly threatening a customer whenever i'm in a public place? This place has disgusting people working at it and i don't know if i would EVER waste my tips on those "good people" again. read more

Simple BLT with fries. Old rotten bacon made up the soggy sandwich, and the fries taste terrible--could only eat one and couldn't eat half the sandwich once I hit the rotten flavor. I literally gagged. I wish someone would fix this place. It's the 3rd try and it's just not good. Last time we'll go there. read more

I took my family for dinner tonight (11/02/2022) & it was perfect in every way. I had hot wings with the best blue cheese I have ever had in my life. My wife got a steak, potato and salad. Great food, great service, great people. Have eaten there many times and they are consistently good in all areas.

Tired to go eat dinner at 8 on a Monday night and they were closed because "no one has been in to eat in an hour". When your website and door says you do not close until 9:30 you should probably stay open until then. Will NOT be getting my service again! read more

I've been to roosters 2 times now. Today I came on a Sunday around 3pm and it had a decent amount of people here. The service was great and friendly. We ordered our food and drinks were brought right out to us and then our food was there within 8 minutes or less. We ordered wings and fries. I'm a lover of spicy food and the rooster red sauce has a little kick, but nothing overpowering. The fries are small and some are crispy some floppy. Overall not a bad experience here and will definitely be back to try something other than wings. read more

Lovely rustic setting with awesome wings. Not fancy but good found excellent atmosphere.

Last time coming here. Recently moved to the area and trying out new local places. First time in was for dinner about 2 weeks ago was amazing. Great service-quick, food was great. Was so impressed that I came in for late lunch a week ago. I was sat quickly and then ended up walking out because no server ever came to my table. I was there at least 10 minutes. Thinking this was maybe a fluke, a friend of mine and I went in for dinner tonight. We were seated quickly. Our server was pretty slow and at one point after delivering our drinks said she'd be back "in a second" to take our orders. 5+ minutes later she came back. Food came out-and here's where it gets worse. I ordered a Rooster burger (1/2 pound), medium. What came to the table, a 4 oz mcdonalds-esque 1/4 pounder patty, well done. Certainly NOT a half pound burger as it should have been. I send it back telling my waitress that this is overcooked and not the right sized patty. 10 minutes later, my friend has finished his meal now, and the server brings the new burger out. This is STILL not a half pound burger. Grrrrrrrr.... And it's medium-well. The kitchen doesn't know how to even cook a hamburger properly (TWICE) and clearly don't know portion size. The server should have known better as to what an 8 versus 4oz burger looks like too and pushed back on the kitchen. Customers want to get what we pay for. EPIC FAIL. Won't be back. I should also note that the table next to me had to send food back to the kitchen as well. You'll be better off at Waffle House next door. read more
