First time visitor, and I tried the double cheeseburger and fries. The burger came on texas toast which surprised me, but it worked. The beef was tasty, and I liked the style of pickles they serve. The fries were prepared fresh, and the chef put them in a pan, salted them, and then tossed them. Perfect. For just under $10, it was a very good lunch option. Okay, first off the food was a hit or miss for me. I was hoping for a fresh ingredients and made from scratch corner restaurant vibe. I get that some items needs to be frozen or store bought. But this was over kill, a few of the items are blended in house (store bought hot sauce and bbq sauce) the others are straight out of the grocery freezer isle. The chicken bites where made there in the store, cut up fresh chicken breasts (probably frozen just thawed) tossed in seasoned flour and fried. They have a very homemade look and taste to them. We ordered fried okra but never received it, so we can't review that but I'm sure that would have been frozen as well. Again, I understand not every thing can be fresh but 95% of their menu is from frozen. I would be happier and more understanding if it was more like 40-50%. My ideal is around 30% and under. The (frozen) fries are straight cut completely unseasoned not even salt was added. The "buffalo" sauce was not what I typically would refer to as buffalo due to it getting mixed with bbq sauce. It was tasty but they need to rephrase to say house sweet and spicy sauce, since it is a blend of bbq and hot sauce. Most of their items are prepackaged and frozen. I really wanted to see more homemade, from scratch, signature food from this place. I will say the corn nuggets where delicious! That might be frozen or made from scratch but I didn't care because they were addictive. Must try them, matter of fact I will get 2 orders next time. Yes, even though it was not all made from scratch, I will be back for some more chicken bites and corn nuggets. They do not have blue cheese for my fellow blue cheese lovers, but don't worry they don't serve traditional buffalo sauce anyways. I ordered a huge menu so I could give a wide review. The burger patties were from frozen and was nothing spectacular. The non-traditional chicken wings my husband liked, but he likes sweet and spicy sauces. The fried pickles I felt like were from frozen but tasted good. The fried tomatoes were I believe frozen as well but not flavorful. The cheese sticks were typical frozen cheese sticks, tasty. The staff of two could have been more hospitable and friendly. The woman running the front order station is very difficult to understand due to an extreme smokers voice. I noticed that the health department gave a 100 but I feel that shortly will drop substantially due to the lack of care of cross contamination. While waiting on our order I noticed that raw food was getting prepared at the same time as fresh food. I would like to see more care go into preparation. Or maybe I just watch to many kitchen nightmares and have extreme standards like Chef Ramsey. I really wanted to give this place a shot but the lack of good customer service, lack of fresh ingredients and lack of authentic food was a bummer. If your looking for fried prepackaged food aka "fast food" then look no further, if you are like me and want more of a corner cafe vibe the find somewhere else. read more

The gentleman that works there is extremely friendly (genuine, not forced) it's so nice to have a great personal experience. The woman on the other hand, not as friendly. Located in a small strip mall. This place is unassuming. The seating is limited, which could become a problem in the future because the food here is delicious. I ate the chicken wings, catfish, perch, fries, onion tanglers, and sweet corn nuggets. Although all the food was tasty, the catfish was phenomenal and I'm not a catfish fan. The seasoning in the breading was awesome and made me want to smack my momma. It's the kind of flavor you brag to your friends about but then you have to deal with them asking for some of your food everytime you have some and they don't. You will have a short wait until the owner puts in some gas deep fryers but the wait is worth it, especially if you are able to converse with the friendly owner Mario. Most small establishments that I have patronized have lacked quality because of their size but Lorio's delivered on taste and service. Stop it at least once and get the catfish. We ate here on Friday night. My wife had the fried catfish. I had the four wing dinner. My daughter had a plain burger and her husband had the buffalo wings. All of the food was good except my daughter's hamburger. It looked like a very cheap frozen patty and not at all like the pictures. Not sure what happened there. Everyone else's food was really really good. I was stuffed from the four whole wings. The sauce drizzled over the top was a little weird at first but tasted good. Messy though. My wife really enjoyed her catfish and crinkle fries. It would be nice is they had fountain sodas with refills but that is a minor suggestion. This is a very small restaurant with 3 tables. It is very clean and scored a 100 on health report. The menu is small but not in a bad way. Parking is ok. It's in a small strip mall. My wife has the grilled chicken and said it was good. I had the catfish and it was very good. I ordered the large and have plenty for another meal. It's deep fried and lightly battered. It stayed hot for a long time. I was disappointed at the size of the coleslaw. Hardly a mouthful but delicious. All food comes in styrofoam contains regardless if you are eating in or not. There is a tv playing annoying sitcoms hanging in the dining area. The restroom was clean. The owner cooked the food and seemed to be the only employee so you may have to wait a few to get your order taken. It takes a bit to get your food but it is fresh and piping hot. Today we picked up Catfish, butterfly shrimp, fried green tomatoes, fried okra, corn fritters, and chicken for the kids. Everything was delicious!! Decided to check out this little corner place while in the area visiting family, we've been there three times now and will continue to go back. Had the Hot wings which are good but not that hot, but my grandson says they are really good and his opinion counts when it comes to wings. My husband who never eats Catfish tried a piece of mine on a trip and now that is all he wants. The fish is a good quality (not some of muddy river tasting) and the seasoning coat is delicious, fried crisp to perfection!!! The fries were alright but who charges almost two dollars for a side that always accompanies a burger. Speaking of, everything is overpriced but hey at least they throw in an off brand dum dum lollipop which is also somehow bad. Honestly they probably factor that into the price as well. My friend and I decided to give this place a try since its on the way home, I came in with low expectations due to its location. Do not be fooled, the food here and the customer service is top quality. I had one of the best cheeseburgers ive had from a mom and pop place like this. This place has a great homey feeling, we walked in to Maury playing on the tv telling some lucky guy he was not the father. It was at that moment that we knew this place was going to be a hit. Respect! I'm writing this review at 7am before finishing my coffee - that's how deserving this new restaurant is of a good review. The phone was answered by a friendly voice. That voice remained friendly while I had TWO reversals while ordering. They offer 5, 10, 15 & 20 wing orders. PRO TIP: Don't ask them to split orders of 10 or 20 among different flavors. Whatever quantity you order gets exactly one flavor. Want 5 BBQ and 5 LEMON PEPPER - then that's what you order NOT 10 wings split between BBQ & LEMON PEPPER. The curbside pickup (from the same friendly lady) was effortless. She cautioned me to be careful with my 5 HOT wings container 'because it was a very wet application.' On my ride home I noticed the smell was pleasant which is not always the case with spicy fried foods. Upon opening the container with 15 LEMON PEPPER wings - it earned an A+ presentation! Beautiful deep golden brown color without ANY saturated oil on the wax paper under the wings! How Lorio's does that God only knows. The taste of the hot, dry (not oily) and yet moist wings was an A. Keeping it real the drummets were slightly overcooked, but we ate them. The wingettes were perfect. They used a liberal coating of LEMON PEPPER and it was excellent. The HOT wings were ok. The sauce's flavor was GOOD and I'd bet most would consider it medium. However the wet hot wings's skin got a bit soggy. PRO TIP: Eat the HOT wings first! They give you a choice when ordering FRIES: straight or crinkle. We got a LARGE straight fries. They were a .25" to .5" and well cooked, not overcooked and not under cooked. They were EXCELLENT and HOT. CONCLUSION: We feel strongly that today these are the best wings for 50-miles! I've heard that their CATFISH is legit too. read more
